Any tips for dogfighting / manouvering?
Doughguy replied to Viceman's topic in DCS: Fw 190 A-8 Anton
if you experience this you simply pull too hard and stall your brick. if your cockpit shakes it means youre close to stalling. dont pull harder or ease on the pull. that characteristic can be used for quick rolls when in danger but it should not be your bread n butter. -

They should work in both. -
It sounds like youre pulling to hard. if you start rolling, keep stick back to lock tailwheel. if you start your roll and youre about to reach 100mph center the stick gradually. the snap roll happens because you stall your plane.
-
rule of thumb: cockit is shaking = close to stall. it is ok if youre riding her on the stall just dont push her over the edge. stalls come abrubtly! pull the stick gentle. but you can pull it alot, but do it gradually. youll get the hang on how much you can pull.

you still have to drop bomb first, then rockets can be used. its not possible to jettison the rack. only the bomb, or BR21. iirc, the wirering is as intended.

Proposal to the ED Modelers Regarding the Hellcat

As mentioned on the discord, this could extend to killmarkings. -
Well im pretty sure one can code lines to detect, how often wild manouvering happens and add "fatigue" if forms of control inputs getting stiffer/delayed, blackouts /red outs occur faster and become stronger/longer and one has to enter a cool down time, just like machine guns have a modeled fatigue. of course we cannot model a persons physique, as all that is individual, but its definately possible to add limits.

Hey there, correct as intented. By pilots accounts, and some photographic evidence the wings, and sometimes also the whole plane, were polished with simoniz carwax. If you look at attached pictures, youll notice the darker areas on the front part of the wing, which after some conclusion, is waxpolish. that respective area is riveted and exposed to the airflow more, contrary to the aft portion behind the wing spar. it appears that only that portion of the wing was waxed, due to the situation in 44/45, namely supply shortages. also, the wings of the dora were most likely puttied in that very area. if you have a close look at my doras wings, this is also represented. instead of full blown rivets one has subdued dimples. and a layer of wax. im no aero enginieer, but i guess you understand what i mean. With the lua files, you could basically make your own chopped up versions. All dora variants reference 1/JG301 for their normals. you can keep these in their resective folder, or copy and rename them in your "own". I dont mind if you do this for private use. Not much mumbo jumbo really. {"FW-190_01", 0 ,"FW-190D9_14_SL_JG26_1_d",false}; "FW-190_01" = material name (material for aft section indicated by 01. 02 is front section. 03 and 04 are wings. this is predetermined in the model) 0 tells you , that this is for the diffuse (color) "FW-190D9_14_SL_JG26_1_d" name of the texturefile, which is situated in the folder the lua is located. here it would be FW-190D9_14_SL for convenience. the _1 suffix ive added so it is clear that it corresponds with FW-190_01 = aft section material. the _d suffix means that its the diffuse map, as we also have the _r suffix, which is the roughmat Now, if you want to reference a texture from another folder the line goes like this: {"FW-190_01", 0 ,"../FW-190D9_1_JG301/FW-190D9_1_d",false}; The trick is the ../ which tells the lua, to go one folder up, out of its native folder, and into /FW-190D9_1_JG301/ from which it picks "FW-190D9_1_d" as a diffuse map. However, if you copy all your wanted textures for one livery in one "new" older, it doesnt matter, since the lua will always load the textures from its native folder. you just have to be consistent with naming! file name and the name in the lua must match. -
color looks good! i think the culprit is the roughmat texture. the dora has the same problem. nightmare! very cool sturmbock skin tho!

Dirt is dirt, however, with the ammount of shine on the canopy, it appears they´re rather sandblasted and not high gloss. you cannot avoid reflections on glass/plexiglass. thats a fact. just as scratches and residue in nooks n cranies around frames. Adjustment is needed.

Power Settings for Dora (Cant keep the engine from overheating)
Doughguy replied to Winger's topic in DCS: Fw 190 D-9 Dora
20 - 25 u/min (cant recall ata, but that autoadjusts) is your regular modus operandi, as in continuous flying setting. 25 - 30+ is combat setting. 30 is limited to 30 mins. 32+ (with mw50) 3 mins make your you warm up your engine according to manual. most common error. i dont touch the cowflaps. the auto regulation works great. i only touch these if the engine is damaged and i need extra cooling. i only engage mw50 additionally and if i need it badly, eg. to extand from an enemy or that extra boost if i wanna climb like a scared monkey on a rope. the circuit brakes are switched on all the time. i only operate the mw50 switch when needed. some leave it on permanently and go past 30 u/min if they wanna engage that, but you might be too focused on manouvering forget it for severl mins and then your engine quits. -

Sadly had to drop the Josef Priller livery, since the 3d mesh around the exhaust has its UVW´s skewed too much, so that specific ornament found on Prillers D9 would end up all wonky.. I chose Black 5 of Stab/Jg.26 instead. Very interesting mottling. Reused the wings of a JG.301 dora, as it appears the pattern and colors were quite similar tellin by pictures. -

Small correction to the previous skin and new for 14. Staffel of IV/JG26 Whats next? 14. Staffel skin of IV/JG26 based off of Werner Zech´s black 8 and and Geschwader Stab skin based off of Josef Priller´s black 13/14. Then this 2nd pack gonna be pressed out, which will feature liveries for JG.2, 26, 54 and KG(J)27. Before and after -
Fantastic skin! Bummer the creators had to split the UV´s on the middle of the wing filet.
