  1. They should develop everything on a 486sx then =)
  2. What is the 504 stats url? Cant seem to find it. Maybe we cant get a sticky with all the stat server urls.
  3. :) I am finding the best defensive tactic is to know when to extend, and get the hell outta dodge. Most the time when I die, its because I know I should bug out, but dont. Great write-up Xealot.
  4. You can adjust the curve to TIR just like another axis, and the dead zone. I have the reset center and disable keys mapped to the cougar. Can hold the view still whenever it needs to be. There some furballs I have gotten into that have had my heart really pounding. Most of the time its when I am on comms and have a few squadmates with me. Hearing what they are dealing with, along with what I am dealing with is awsome. There so much to think about.
  5. I would be interesting in seeing if there was a difference in server population if the all of the dedicated servers hosted on both.
  6. Yeah, they just shouldnt have even made it..... Like I said. Its a Flanker Successor. The F15 is completely different than the Su27. By decently acceptable I mean you have the main systems available. You have a more than functional HUD, you have a functional radar with most of the available modes, you got the system stores on the other. Like GG said, "I merely understand why a bunch of that isn't happening"
  7. Not sure exactly where the problem lays, but it does seem LOMAC demands more than it should, but what other sim is there to compare to? In FPS games, its easy to say a game runs better than another. But it is a good reason to invest as little as possible into the code. If Ubi was calling the cards, we probably would have never got past 1.1. I bet an FX-57 overclocked and water-cooled and all that would handle LOMAC well.
  8. So should the Su33 have auto-trim? Kuz should have EWR type ability?
  9. Sure thing. Is there a standard you want to use? There are some FPS tracks out there. And some use Fraps to capture FPS I think.
  10. After doing some research, maybe 7900GTX is the way to go since I have an SLI mobo. So I order: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814150142
  11. Before you fire, fly at AB. This increases the speed that the missile starts from, this effectively increases the distance the missile will travel, and the speed it will be at impact. After you fire, you should be breaking, and decending. If you fly at AB, you are decreasing the distance the missile has to travel to you. Try to learn the timing of the missiles to you. How long does the ER launched from Rmax take to get to you. While decending, you then decide based on how close you think the missile is to you, to ascend, and accelerate. Hopefully at this time, the missile has a lot less energy, and as you accelerate and ascend, the missile doesnt have the energy to keep up. That depends. For a first shot, if your intent is to force them defensive. But if you pick them up closer, if you lock them in TWS and fire a 120, they have less warning. They only get a slightly faster tone from the RWR, than if you didnt have them locked. They have no idea that they are locked, let alone a missile is coming.
  12. I dont know why people bash Dell. I personally wouldnt buy one, just because I can build my own. But I have a work laptop by Dell, and they have good service, at least to us. And that is one mean computer. When some of the newer sims come out, it will be the shiznit. But then, we will have better. If you're into other games, and you had the spare cash, then yeah its would rock. But if your intent is mainly Lock On, its a waste of cash.
  13. I dont think so. Lockon doesnt take enough advantage of the newer optimizations. I think that computer will do well, but not as you will see from other games. What Lock On needs is a 10GHz processor hehe. *** Edit, not only that, but they put an Intel in it...... I know they have contracts...
  14. I have seen benchmarks going both ways. I am in the market to buy 1 of them. I currently have a 7800GT and it works great, but I need something for all the overtime I have done ;) I am a fanboi of neither, so just looking at performance in Lock On. From the benches I have seen, I am leaning towards ATi, but they have that shadow bug... Or should I just wait for DX10 cards?
  15. Get the 1MB L2, I believe it will make more of a difference than MHz will.
  16. Has been this way since 1.0 IIRC.
  17. It has been suggested that this is too long for AMRAAM. The AMRAAM turns active as close to the target as possible. Possibly too fast for the small SAMs? I think this is because the Tung is set in the Complex Unit. The UKR is not assigned the Tung, but is assigned the MSB1990. I am not sure which is correct.
  18. Really, I can IFF in VS, Bore and HMTD just fine. My most common attack profile with a MiG29 is to lock with radar. When I 'Tally' the contact, I switch to HMTD. Hopefully I have a wingman who can keep an eye on the engagement. So no need to check IFF. But if there are multiple bandits, and both me and wingman need to engage then SA get lower. So you tend to break your eyes from contact, and you loose lock sometimes, maybe dodging missile. So in that case I am almost always in VS or HMTD, and default is EOS. When I lock a target, I always turn radar on real quick to check IFF and if no F, BOOM BABY!. Not always, sometimes the bastard gets me too :) But it should work, just remember that it comes on default in EOS, just turn radar on. I forget the symbology on left of HUD. 1 is EOS, 1 is Radar, 1 is active return, the bottom is IFF. If you are in HMTD for example, with EOS on, Radar on, and a bogey locked... if all 4 letter are on, firing would result in criminal charges hehe
  19. For me, at 16x12, AF really kills the FPS. I have a 7800GT. I would also recommend turning SS down to at least MS. And whatever you do, keep visual at med.
  20. Nice. Though I dont have all the monitor, I do have a gyro mouse. I found it not so easy to use. Arm fatigue is the draw back.
  21. For Russian radar. If it is a single horizontal line, -, then it is enemy. This line can have multiple dashes shows signal return strength like, ---. For friendly it will be, =, or ===, depending on signal return strength. For Russian EOS, there is no friendly/foe. All contacts return as -, ---, depending on thermal signature. You MUST use radar to IFF. For F15, a horizontal bar is enemy, a dot is friendly.
  22. Well I know many would wish for more in the F15, I would too. But this is a successor to Flanker 2.5. So at least ED made a decently functional F15. There are things that could be added an improved, but it still works well enough to kill with. F15/AIM120 is still the most used plane/weapon combo. From our server stats. Attacking Aircraft Weapon Confirmed Kills F-15C AIM-120C 134 Su-27 R-27ET (AA-10D) 99 MiG-29S R-77 (AA-12) 92 MiG-29S R-73 (AA-11) 37 F-15C AIM-7M 22 Su-33 R-27ER (AA-10C) 20 Su-33 R-27EM (AA-10C) 13
  23. There are also shells that replace explorer.exe, that take a lot less memory.
  24. It will :) Just from watching that video, if you enjoy EECH, then I think BS will be a hit for you.
