  1. I can run DCS with 80% openXR on my 3070 so I'm not suprised you can run it at 100%. You shouldnt be GPU limited with your specs.
  2. HAGS off, game mode off, and disabled all the xbox crap.
  3. Im still waiting for a reply from Reflected, will keep you updated. I also worked on an AI trained Jester voice, but its not as "natural" sounding as the real actor of course.
  4. Sounds like the old "restart mission" DCS bug. Lowering terrain textures to low helped me, but doesnt look too great. Otherwise restart DCS to clear VRAM.
  5. yes, luckily i dont hear the cooler when wearing the G2. I switch it off after the session. This even gave me 3-4 fps extra performance and you can toggle it while playing.
  6. So I've finnaly found the TRUE source of my framerate dips. Had nothing to do with MR on or off. It was my MSI motherboard and its <profanity>ty software that caused thermal throttling in some situations, like longer than 1h sessions or GPU heavy maps. So sometimes i had no issues while few days later i played a longer session and performance would tank. I then changed some settings, read some forum and tried again. In the meantime the system had cooled down so i thought the setting changed worked. But it probably didnt, it came all down to cooling. I found this out by not changing settings and just checking if i can get a reliable framerate for the same mission repeatedly, when the PC is cool or hot. So the MSI software also changed some settings back after an update. Which made it even worse. At least i know the problem now. So much time wasted on changing DCS or OpenXR settings... The easist way to fix this was to enable MAX cooler boost, or constant max cooling.
  7. See here https://iliaskapouranis.com/2020/12/24/single-pass-stereo-the-artifacts-with-hp-reverb-g2/
  8. Ok sry i missed that. Anyhow, i think the differences in the first image are negligible. If there was a different stereoscopic effect, the geometry should be vastly different in some places / angles. But the differences are very uniform around the outlines of geometry, which can be easily attributed to aliasing / noise. What you should see instead is 5-10 pixels offset around near geometry i.e. the cockpit frame or distant geometry, while in other places there would be no geometric offset.
  9. It looks like there is a simple camera offset tbh, you should first adjust the camera offset by overlaying the pictures as good as possible and then compare.
  10. One more thing just crossed my mind. Since this mod changes a stereo texture setting, what if it only affects normal maps ? That would explain why there is no actual geometry change visible. Because normal maps create a depth effect without changing geometry. Trees and ground textures have normal maps, as well as some buildings. Which would explain why this can be seen flying low over scenery. If you dont know what these do, here is a good example to get your eyes trained on the normal map effect. Once you have seen this you will notice normal maps in most modern games.
  11. Thanks for the effort! Besides a slight camera offset which can be corrected when overlaying, and a slightly different sun position / time I can see no geometric difference that would result in a different stereoscopic image inside the headset. If this mod would affect convergence or stereo cutoff we would see significantly different geometry in the screenshots. If its an effect that only appears in motion then, after some thought, I dont think its something that could be a graphics driver setting. Since the graphics driver doesnt actually know whats in motion and what isnt. Its merely rendering a static scene every frame as far as the graphics card is concerned. Except maybe for motion blur or other post processing effects but these need to be implemented by the game and the settings in this mod dont really sound anything like post processing motion fx. So unless someone can show actual geometry change caused by this mod, im not digging any further into this for the time being.
  12. It would explain why i cant see any difference, as im looking at a static 3D scene to compare on/off settings
  13. So it only appears in motion, not when you hit "active pause" ?
  14. But those effects are due to the displays and lenses of the headset which cannot be altered by a software mod. Software changes in the GFX driver have no effect on the headset physics. What you see in the VR mirror should be the final image created by the GFX card that is sent to openXR/steamVR and then to the headset.
  15. Thanks, I'm also waiting for permission from Reflected Simulation since most of the samples are from the zone5 campaign.
  16. Thanks, thats a great method to compare. If there are any 3D difference, it would show in the 2D stero mirror. All the headset does is present those images to the left and right eye. There is no more processing by the graphics driver before the image reaches the user's eye, afaik. If someone for whom the mod works could create such a comarison image it would be very helpful to understand whats going on.
  17. That would be a good method as well. A before and after image of the exact same scene, i.e. cold start mission on ground. Then we can do a pixel comparision to see what the effect does. Its not about who is RIGHT or WRONG but 1. To determine if there is a measurable effect and 2. how others can benefit from this effect who currently can not replicate this on their machines.
  18. From what i understand DLSS would be the only tech capable of reducing shimmering in DCS, so the only usable option in VR. An interesting comparison:
  19. Cant tell you which settings work for me, I no longer use it since i didnt like the artifacts. I rather have a slightly blurry image than all the jagged edges and shimmering. But i had to play around with nis/fsr and different scale settings until it wouldnt crash start with sharpness 0% and 0.77 instead of 0.8 from what i remember
  20. I also get this crash with certain NIS settings, seems the driver doesnt like certain values
  21. It would really help if those for whom the settings work could deactivate/reset each of the settings one by one to identify whats causing the actual change. Because some of these settings seem way outdated (2002) and are no longer used by current graphics drivers. So there must be one or two settings at most, that make the actual difference. Then we can investigate further what these specific settings do.
  22. Its very confusing, then it should say "beta" or "canary" or something. What can you expect from Micro$oft
  23. Thats what my guess was as well, its hard enough to change anything in DCS with driver settings. Also just getting your brain to focus on the 3D effect may create the illusion that there is more 3D than you have noticed before. Kind of like the placebo effect. So its very hard to quanitfy if there is any difference. It would need a blind A / B comparision to get an unbiased result.
  24. I thought about building a mission editor inside the game via F10 menu. This would allow placement / movement of units in 3D space via the Ctrl F11 free camera. It could even be hooked up to a web interface for better control. But havent gotten around coding it yet.
