Could be a case of memory allocation. Are the texture sizes increased over the original ones? From what I know, EDs terrain engine is very restrictive.

Nice work. How much effort do you think it would take to revive the Jungle textures for Caucasus ? Would it be possible to copy the tree assets from Marianas ?

Isnt normandy a bit too flat ? I'd love to see this mod revived. I'm not a texture artist though, im a programmer so not much help here.

Even though tracking has improved with OpenXR, there are still times when i get some weird head movements in DCS VR, especially when looking down at dials or panels. From what i read this can be caused by either insufficient or extraneous room lighting, but also by moving objects and TV / monitors with moving images. I have tried different light setups, removed cats from play space but once source of motion remains: Since the DCS VR mirror on my monitor is actually rendering in front of the headset, this could potentially interfere with the G2 tracking algorithm, which is camera based like most headsets. I have searched but found no easy way to disable VR tracking. I cant turn off the monitor entirely either, as this causes other issues.

This is pretty cool, I didnt know the NVclean exists to remove all the NVIDIA driver bloat. Even if you do a custom install with the default NVidia drivers and omit all extra options, Nvidia will install additional software. This tool helps to really strip anything but the drivers from the install package.

I would love bookmarks the way the DCS kneebaord works - with the only difference that you can label the stickies and they are saved for the next session

decrease IPD the terrain always feels the same size as its beyond the convergence depth perception of your eyes

OpenXR Toolkit Tuning Guide (updated 21/02/23)

shimmering gets worse with FSR, which is why I dont use it. Even with sharpening at 0 MSAA 2x and the highest render scale you can get works best for me DLSS would be a real improvement, as it can upscale without introducing shimmering- 688 replies

OpenXR Guide - Deprecated - This time for real (▀̿Ĺ̯▀̿ ̿)

I believe dev tools 1.1 works better with OCXR 0.6.3. The previous version worked better with 0.6.2 Noticed less framerate drops on the SuperCarrier -

I got hit by the shilka on my first run. I know its not my target but i wanted to clear them out to avoid this
-
Ok now that makes sense, I retried the mission at least 6 times and every time I felt it got harder. Because my strategy was to take out the remaining air defences first, then drop the bombs. But somehow me and my wingmen kept blowing up.

Thanks for the stereo screenshot! I have overlayed the MDF from left and right eyes in photoshop with a difference filter. So there is no positional offset visible other than the button geometry / perspective and a bit of aliasing around the edges of MFD graphics. So the red popout effect must be something happening within the Varjo, possibly related to offsets in mini-LED displays. But I dont see how this mod could affect the Varjo software, let alone current gen NVIDIA drivers. The PSD with left & right eye layers is also attached, you can open it via https://www.photopea.com/#i3zvNONKJ if you dont have photoshop. Other than that your screenshot looks comparable to mine regarding left/right eye shift, even though I dont have the Apache to compare. image.psd.psd

If you set DCS VR mirror to both, the screenshots will record both eyes

can you make a screenshot this would explain a lot

Theres an easy method posted by OP though, just select the VRdirect profile and press apply. Shouldn't be too hard to get this wrong. But these settings are for discontinued 3D shutter glasses (long before PC VR was a thing) and no longer have any effect in present day NVIDIA drivers, see here Depth perception is very subjective, i.e. when I switch from Cuacasus to Syria or Marianas, my brain thinks depth projection has improved just because there's a lot more detail. So some people may notice this as an improvement. The fact that they cannot undo the setting changes imho hints at these settings having no effect in the first place. Another thing that happens is that these profiles also change some AF, bias, mipmap, texture, rendering settings to defaults. These settings actually work with present day NVIDIA drivers and may affect depth perception due to detail changes depending on what people hat selected in their nvidia DCS profile. Better texture filtering -> more detail -> more depth perception. This could also explain while people can't undo these settings, as they believe they need to modify those deprecated stereo settings while they actually should restore i.e. texture filtering to the previous values.

#1 is controlled by DCS -> VR > IPD setting #2 is controlled by the game engine, no way the graphcis driver can change this
-
are you able to turn it on and off in the profile ? Or is it permanently enabled now

I cant read any of your text with the dark forum setting -
Initially I used VR controllers but in the long run its not worth the hassle. Leave your hands on the hotas and get a pointCtrl or use the ministick to map the mouse. Works imo better than the VR controllers. The best thing i could imagine orther than button mapping is using a VoiceAttack command, like "Shoot" or "Those about to launch, we salute you!"
