Zone 5 - Campaign introduction.pdf page 11 Zone 5 - Event 03.pdf Not sure where this intercept lecture can be found ?

Lets not forget the sweet spot of most VR headsets (G2) is fairly small. Which means for spotting you need to turn your head a lot more than with a flatscreen monitor.

Im running 2.7.10 btw
-
And are the bandits supposed to use flares ? Because the mission card says no flares. My wingman therefore couldnt score a hit, i had to take out both bandits. The overall atmosphere is great btw, just nitpicking some minor issues

I've replayed the mission, left some space on the runway for the wingman and everything wroked as expected. Im pretty sure the range officer said something like "proceed to india and call when ready" which could be interpreted as move to waypoint INDIA, THEN call ready. Not sure about the navy language. But this time i knew better and called ready right after bighorn

At the start of Event 3, the wingman got stuck next to the runway. I took the centerline, didnt know I should leave some room. I noticed over APEX that hes missing but didnt know if that was supposed to be like that. He continued to give radio messages for sure Then when i entered India, he was instantly called dead as he hit the hard deck. Then I knew it wasnt supposed to happen. I found him still stuck on the runway via F2 view. I managed to kill one F5 while the other got me right after. Returned to base, did a bad landing and smashed the wing. Still mission success. The mission log is attached if it helps. Im pretty new to DCS so i dont know most of the DCSisms especially with AI wingmen. But I think the wingman could be teleported to APEX if he gets stuck on takeoff. Also had a bug in the text where jester replied "Climb to 700" instead of "7000" zone3.log

OpenXR Guide - Deprecated - This time for real (▀̿Ĺ̯▀̿ ̿)
winghunter replied to nikoel's topic in Virtual Reality
The clarity improvement I thought I had with openXR also came from 100% render scale while in SteamVR i had 80% configured. So it seemed like an improvement at first. Buth when both are at 100% I dont see a visual difference tbh. The tracking is still faster with openXR though, less latency. -
Event 2, bandit spawned right behind me
winghunter replied to winghunter's topic in F-14A Zone 5 Campaign
Not in the mission editor i think. But you could spawn them by script i mean, so that theres less room for user error See here, i wrote this feel free to copy https://github.com/fyyyyy/Bandit-on-Demand/blob/master/scripts/bandit_on_demand.lua -
Event 2, bandit spawned right behind me

Im not quite sure as i called ready quite late, i thought i needed to fly over india before i realised i just need to go in that direction. -
Here are some of my annotations from the iPad Marked waypoints 1,2,3,FP,DP / Manual, IP, ST Marked Coyote Bravo Ingress points green Egress points red

After I killed the first F-16, it said I should drive towards Bigfoot for 60 seconds, then it asked me to turn back to India and press space, which I did. I was looking for an F-16 to the west, but it spawned right behind me, fired a Sidewinder and before I knew I was dead. I probably got too far west during the first engagement so i was west of bullseye. Its probably safer to spawn the bandit via script 10nm to the direction of the player, rather than in a static location via mission editor. Otherwise nice mission. My strategy was to get to 30k around 315 kts and dive down behind the F-16 trying to stay inside optimum turn rate.

Maybe you could spawn the bandit as coalition and respawn him in the exact same spot / speed as hostile via mist. That would make it less tempting to eject jester. I've scriipted a dynamic teleport here
-
Another thing that got me in the first mission "Report at Coyote Bravo" I was already low on fuel after downing 2 F5s, and while I searched through all the kneeboards for a reference i ran out of fuel eventually. Its kind of hard to read on the map especially ingame, so this could be highlighted in the briefing or PDF. EDIT: So NORDO means if I loose my radios I have to go there ? I didnt know what NORDO means so that confused me

Nope, updated tools to 1.0.5. Still get performance tanks after some missions, while restarting DCS several times. -

The next version is supposed to fix OXR reprojection artifacts. -

"Unlock Motion Reprojection when exiting." Maybe this caused the framerate dips, when repeatedly starting and exiting DCS. I will try -

That may be because you are over the MR target. For me, enabling MSAA 4x versus 2x will drop to 25 from 30+ (limited by MR), so it costs me upwards of 16% performance. It may be that MSAA runs on a separate core and your graphics cards are simply strong enough. But for my 3070 2x MSAA is the most i can do. And the visual difference to 4x is negligible. -

Is openXR doing extensive logging ? I had good performance only to find the same mission a few days later running terrible. Then with an openXR reinstall the issue was fixed again until it went worse days later. If openXR is writing an extensive log file which grows larger and larger this could be an issue. And also explain performance differences on similar hardware systems related to HDD / SDD, empty space, segmentation etc Or maybe MR is growing a page file that gets too large, which would explain why this only seems to happen with MR forced on. -

I have found the source of the framrate dips. Its due to "MR always on" in OXR dev tools. Without it, the mission runs relatively smooth. But when enabled, the framerate gets under a certain threshold in the beginning and doesnt recover.
