  1. Thanks, will try this out. I have a 3070 with 2x MSAA enabled, 100% render, but almost all settings to low except: clouds, water, textures medium
  2. The videos dont show absolute mouse, only relative and R+A Absolute mouse seems to be not working. I have latest software and firmware
  3. I get 45fps cold start in an F-14 with a 3070. No shader mods, no openFSR. Most settings to low except clouds standard, water medium, textures medium, MSAA 2x. I found shader mods no longer give a perf benefit with latest 2.7.10 and openFSR performance gain is not worth the visual quality loss. Pixel Density 1.0 and steam SS 100%
  4. To me it feels like wearing a helmet. Much more immersive than 5.1
  5. I also started DCS with just the VR controllers. I managed to bind the flight axis to the mini sticks. But the overall experiene was just not great, these aircraft are too difficult to fly with mini joysticks. Even an xbox controller is pretty bad for this type of game. I'd recommend a T16000 thats a great budget entry and makes the experience multiple times better.
  6. Its broken but you can make it work Fly several seconds as level as possible using trim (not stick) and engage the AP reference. If it fails due to initial trim getting outside of 100 vspeed/sec ,re-trim level and try again
  7. jester_about_the_phantom.wav Used AI to clone his voice, i thought he might say something like that
  8. This one is trained with real world military ATC This is how i had to rewrite the text to get this result: "Ann up-coming bombing raid won't be possible without a clear shott directly to the heart of enemy territory. Unfortunately the enemy deployed combaht air patrolls blocking this route. They must be eliminated or our mission will be comprom-ised." combat2.wav "Ground control for this mission is located west of the target at grhid thirty seven cee cee. Do NOT ENGAGE FRIENDLY TARGETS at this grhid location. man2.wav
  9. next level voice over AI
  10. Some samples created with https://coqui.ai/demo Note: you need to adjust the text for the AI to read it properly. With acronyms, instead of "CT" you need to spell out "cee tee" Sometimes you need to insert an "h", i.e. "internahtional" instead of "international" as it seems to have trouble with some word pronouncations. resistance.wav nato f.wav marine 2.wav airspace.wav contact.wav grid.wav
  11. You can upload a voice sample and the AI will replicate that voice with tone, intonation, rythm in seconds. Hopefully we will see more natural voiceovers in future missions!
  12. no But havent found anything more recent. Even though such a thing is quite useful

  14. It should not be a big issue if you dont have the F-14, just select another aircraft from the list before the mission starts. I dont know about the menu, can you make a video ? Do you have voice attack enabled ? Or does this happen even without voice attack?
  15. Also trying to get the rotary encoders to work for HUD brightness etc. I have used a MIDI rotary encoder before i got the Gladiator. I mapped it to an axis and could control the F-14 turn knobs with a little script. It worked very "analog" as in you turn faster, it makes bigger steps. I think this is the better approach rather than emulating button presses. https://forums.eagle.ru/topic/293009-controlling-hud-brightness-hsd-course-heading-altimeter-radar-alt-ammo-counter-etc-with-a-novation-midi-controller/
  16. Setting mouse to "Relative" or "R+A" works fine, but absolute doesn't move the mouse cursor at all. The manual doesnt say how this is supposed to work. I would imagine that "absolute" position always returns to origin / center of screen if you release the joystick. That would be very useful for VR.
  17. The nets i use are very light weight meshes, i did not notice any disruption of air flow.
  18. So this is what a doppler radars sees when looking at ocean. There are some new methods to filter this kind of noise with complex wave simulations. But probably fair to say the AWG-9 didnt have that processing power back in the day. http://cpb.iphy.ac.cn/article/2020/2032/cpb_29_6_068402.html https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/6517933 https://www.osti.gov/servlets/purl/992329 Sea clutter https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/engineering/sea-clutter
  19. Interesting So the only way this *could* work is when the aircraft is close to MSL, scanning the ship against the sky rather than waves. But this may not be enough altitude to launch a phoenix. Or if the water is extremely calm, as in a lake. There could be enough doppler shift to detect against background. But since the ship needs to move, causing waves, it would present an inflated object to the radar image. https://www.quora.com/Could-a-radar-guided-air-to-air-missile-lock-onto-a-ship Paul Adam, Chief Analyst at Cassandra Defence Consulting Ltd (2015-present) The difficulty an air-to-air missile has, in engaging a ship, is that it’s looking for a ship against the sea surface, from an elevated position: it’s not engaging a target in (effectively) free space, but having to pick the ship’s return out of the sea clutter. This can be done, to engage low-flying aircraft (nicknamed ‘look down - shoot down’) but typically involves looking for the Doppler shift of an aircraft’s radial velocity, relative to the ground clutter. Unfortunately, there’s far less of that Doppler shift from a 20-knot ship, than a 500-knot aircraft, and it’s largely swamped by sea return (there’s lots of small up and down Doppler from wave motion) So, I’d say it would be unlikely. An active seeker missile like AMRAAM would be unable to find a valid target (the ship just looks like more sea clutter and is filtered out along with all the waves); a semi-active missile depends on very accurate pointing of the illuminator and on the ship reflecting more radar energy than the sea, or any chaff clouds, since again there’s no way to separate the ship from sea clutter by Doppler shift. I’ve heard of efforts by a flight of Canadian CF-188 Hornets, during the 1991 Gulf War, to engage an Iraqi minesweeper with their Sparrow missiles: they were unable to get a usable lock, and so pressed in to strafe with 20mm instead.
  20. Omg, i understand now. Thats indeed a horrible interface I was also confused as i had full action mapped without half action, therefore not being able to lock on the target regardless.
  21. Apparently a lot of the code is outside control of HB
  22. Pre or post-start ? ground power and air connected ? sometimes you also need to tell him which INS alignment
