I tried the mission : I have the message "lasing ON", "lasing zone", lasing group" but did not see anything in 2D... I tried to modify the mission by adding the option "infrared" to each call of the script, it seems it doesn't change anything...

Hunting for the stutter-free VR experience.
lefuneste01 replied to Panzerlang's topic in Virtual Reality
You don’t get it. That’s not DCS going to to 95 Hz despite your HMD being at 90 Hz, but having à far smoother experience if you cap fps at 50 Hz and have reprojection at 45 Hz, or if you limit fps at 70 because you can not reach 90. Doing it remove stuttering for me. -

In my testing I fund capping fps to a value slightly higher than your target fps is giving a smoother experience. -
It's ok, I have syria. I finished the mission by going in editor and getting coordinates of targets, then adding them in one ong of the mission kneeboard (you can do that without unzipping/zipping the full mission.

I'm still not able to see the IR pointer. I tried to do a mission to test but my JTAC is not allowing me to request IR marker... I had a look in your mission : it seems AFSANEH-1 is M60 infantry and has no action to use IR marker. Maybe it's because the mission is protected... From where the IR beam is supposed to come ?

Reshade VR Enhancer Mod (VREM)
lefuneste01 replied to lefuneste01's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
VREM for il2 is not using reshade, but 3dmigoto library. I have to migrate the DCS VREM to reshade because the 3dmigoto library was no more working with the VR in DCS MT...So you need to install the VREM mod for Il2 without reshade. I did not take the effort to migrate it to reshade, it should not give too many advantage for a lot of work. -
Reshade VR Enhancer Mod (VREM)
lefuneste01 replied to lefuneste01's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Performance vs which reference ? I think it will have to be tested to have an answer...Effects are engaged on a specific shader output, used for each rendering (once per eye in standard VR, 2 time per eye for quad view). Plus the standard game mirroring, as I used the reshade active effect to know which one are to be engaged... -
Reshade VR Enhancer Mod (VREM)

A little teaser of V6.0 : Here is the "ColorMatrix" effect of reshade rendered in Left Inner and Outer quad view, but only in Outer right view (as seen in VR HMD, not in mirror screen). I have still some work to do, but the idea will be to select reshade effects for Inner, Outer or both views(if quad view). Of course, for "standard" VR the effect will be rendered for both eyes by the mod. -
Thanis for your answer. As I was at very low altitude (I though the IR marker would come from the UAV!) I doubdt I could see it...I'll try to go up. I wonder if this IR ray is done by a dedicated shader...In this context I may be able to do a fix... How to make a unit doing it, so I could test as soon as in cockpit in a dedicated mission ?
-
I just flew it yesteday, and ...no IR marker can be seen from the south of the airport, once the message has been given. I'm in quad view VR (Varjo Aero), I wonder if this is the root cause... I had a look in mission editor to understand where the T90 are. Now I know where to go, labels wil also help. I did not see anydatalink info, did I miss something ?

Did you install reshade 6.3.3 ? Did you have the settings shown in post 1 ? Was it working with the previous version of the mod ? -

Reshade VR Enhancer Mod (VREM)
lefuneste01 replied to lefuneste01's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Sorry for the delay, but I spend tome time to fix some stuttering I had in VR with DCS (fixed by a BIOS update + reset of Bios settings) then to try to find the better settings to keep 45 fps with Varjo motion smoothing (not so successfull). I went also in a wrong direction with fog...Now the atmosphere haze setting is back in my "draft" mod, I just need to extend/polish, it should be ready next week. Control of fog seems more tricky, I can easilly disable it but not tune the intensity...But as fog level is defined by mission designer, this should not be a needed option... -

lefuneste01 replied to Panzerlang's topic in Virtual Reality
For your information, I was very impacted by latency spikes/frame rate drops of a few milliseconds, as I posted before. A BIOS update for my motherboard, which also reset all the settings, resolved everything. I just disabled efficient cores, but keep hyperthreading. Now my fps are far more regular, I do no more have the spikes ! Of course, overcloking is off for the moment, but at least I have a stable basis to start tuning again. You can try to use the lower frequency of your HMD (eg 60 Hz for the G2) or use "reprojection" or "smart smoothing" or "motion smoothing" (it depends of your HMD) that will allow you to interpolate frames and so be fluid with half of target fps (45 fps for 90 Hz). But it may introduce some articfacts. -

I nedd to do a full check, I know label masking is still working and haze control not. I'm struggling a bit to restore it... -
Hunting for the stutter-free VR experience.
lefuneste01 replied to Panzerlang's topic in Virtual Reality
I do not believe the latency issues you can see in my tracks are created by external processes because they occures always at the same place when replaying the track. So this is really an issue in the game, not outside it. -

lefuneste01 replied to Panzerlang's topic in Virtual Reality
The issue is not fps, as we can use motion smoothing or any similar feature dependind of VR HMD to get fluid experience. The issue is the spikes. Why do we have for few ms spikes with fps halfed or worse ? -

lefuneste01 replied to Panzerlang's topic in Virtual Reality
I'm in the same quest...As a lot f people, I have stuttering since a long time, but I spent some time and discover they are mostly created by spikes driving to issueq for Varjo motion smoothing. Example here : without motion smooting, game capped at 45 fps, some spikes of few ms. No smart smoothig and not 90 fps => not a fluid display in VR, so I have stuttering but this is normal ! Then the same with motion smooting => every spikes is amplified by motion smoothing, this create a mess and drive to 22 fps ! As you I did a lot of test without finding any conclusion, except preload radius seems amplifying the spikes. Currently I set it up to minimum and I also set "lod" option to 0.2...This is improving but not solving spikes issues. I'll try to map to 4 cores only. This track (AH64) is showing how you can have those "spikes" even if your rig is producing rougly 60 fps for the scene... https://www.mediafire.com/file/n2m9jrx80bhrr11/M.trk/file I wonder if some can reproduce the spikes I have. -
Reshade VR Enhancer Mod (VREM)
lefuneste01 replied to lefuneste01's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
It’s not an effect like in reshade. Effects of reshade are some shaders applied on last render target. Haze removal (as for other features) is modifying the way original shader is building haze. -
Reshade VR Enhancer Mod (VREM)
lefuneste01 replied to lefuneste01's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I would like to use Reshade effectivement instead of the one I did, but unfortunatelly currently reshade effects are not compliant with addons as soon as render resolution is different of backbuffer. So no way for the moment. My effects are surelly not so good as the ones from reshade, but sharpen is affecting cockpit only (so less flickering landscape) and deband is on sky and sea only. -
Reshade VR Enhancer Mod (VREM)
lefuneste01 replied to lefuneste01's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Hello, did you install reshade without any VR option ? Only DX11/DX12, do not tick any extra addon. -
It seems there is no more ST version...And I did not see any IR marker when the message occured. I'll try again to check, but if the issue is not fixed you may provide a workaround...

only mt now New launcher - how to choose MT or ST to launch game
lefuneste01 replied to markturner1960's topic in General Bugs
Hello, I have have "MT" flag in the version name on bottom right of the main menu screen (of the game, not of the launcher), even if I click on the DCS.exe icon in "bin" folder... How to check if I'm using the ST ? A look in the log seems MT is used 2024-11-11 14:16:06.749 INFO EDCORE (Main): system affinity mask: 111111 2024-11-11 14:16:06.749 INFO EDCORE (Main): process affinity mask: 111111 2024-11-11 14:16:06.752 INFO EDCORE (Main): CPU: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12600KF [1x L3 caches] 2024-11-11 14:16:06.752 INFO EDCORE (Main): CPU has uniform cache size 20 MB (per cache) 2024-11-11 14:16:06.752 INFO EDCORE (Main): all CPU cores have the same efficiency class 0 2024-11-11 14:16:06.752 INFO EDCORE (Main): all CPU cores have the same performance class 0 2024-11-11 14:16:06.752 INFO EDCORE (Main): common cores: {3, 4, 5} 2024-11-11 14:16:06.752 INFO EDCORE (Main): render cores: {0, 1, 2} 2024-11-11 14:16:06.752 INFO EDCORE (Main): IO cores: {} 2024-11-11 14:16:08.194 INFO EDCORE (Main): Platform Timer Resolution: 15.51ms 2024-11-11 14:16:08.720 INFO EDCORE (Main): pause10: 0.033489 us (std dev: 0.025693) 2024-11-11 14:16:08.720 INFO EDCORE (Main): pause10: 1221 cycles (std dev: 891.9) 2024-11-11 14:16:08.721 INFO EDCORE (Main): Created boot pool: n:6 2024-11-11 14:16:08.722 INFO APP (Main): Command line: "G:\jeux\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\DCS.exe" 2024-11-11 14:16:08.722 INFO APP (Main): DCS/2.9.9.2474 (x86_64; MT; Windows NT 10.0.19045) 2024-11-11 14:16:08.722 INFO APP (Main): Application revision: 242474 2024-11-11 14:16:08.722 INFO APP (Main): Renderer revision: 25436 2024-11-11 14:16:08.722 INFO APP (Main): Terrain revision: 25543 2024-11-11 14:16:08.722 INFO APP (Main): Build number: 233 2024-11-11 14:16:08.722 INFO APP (Main): CPU cores: 6, threads: 6, System RAM: 32577 MB, Pagefile: 11264 MB 2024-11-11 14:16:09.864 INFO ASYNCNET (5520): Login success. 2024-11-11 14:16:10.977 INFO ASYNCNET (5520): Got auth data.
