  1. My apologies, I missed the drive link when I uploaded - here are the PCB files for the grip and the ALPS switch https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1U1hJhUX7D6RivXJQ5D5R-rEtU3suw5zG?usp=sharing
  2. Not necessarily - it is possible to remove that function with software (example MMJoy2), however it only works for a total of 2 switches. In this case, because the F-15 grip has 3 switches, a hardware solution was necessary. There are PCB version available for both the larger alps switch with the encoder, and the smaller one I feature in the video. They are pretty cheap to assemble from 3rd party services like PCBway and JLPCB etc.
  3. Hi all, As a follow on to my F-15E WSO Handgrips, I have now completed my design for the F-15 front seat Joystick! This stick is compatible with Thrustmaster, Virpil, and VKB Bases (with the adapter). I hope you enjoy, and if you have any feedback, please do let me know!
  4. I asked this on November 27th during a livestream: Question "With all the love for COLD WAR aircraft, what can Wags tell us about the F-5E Tiger II update?" Answer "I'm not sure what specific update he is talking about. Yeah, the art is definitely showing its age a bit, and there's certainly some bugs to fix. In particular the radar and the RWR still have some issues. But in terms of major updates, not exactly sure what he's referring to." Question "Follow up for Wags on the F-5E - in January he said "big changes are already underway, but it's a bit too early to discuss. We look forward to sharing our F-5E plans later in the year. So?" Answer "Ah okay so I know what he's talking about now. So, there is some... 'stuff' we're working on the F-5, we just can't really talk about it right now in any kind of detail." --------------------------------------------------------------------- At minimum we are expecting improvements to the art and continued bugfixes for the radar and RWR. Happy to see the RWR issues being acknowledged at a high level. As for the additional "stuff" he mentioned, and what "big changes already underway" means, we genuinely have no idea. If I can speculate, the recent AI model debacle in which ED advertised high detail AI models and released low detail AI models makes me think that we will be seeing something like a "High Detail Asset Pack" or high detail assets as their own module, etc, in which old modules like the F-5E will also see art improvements. I have no opinion either way - I'm just hoping for more information on the improvements.
  5. I fully understand that this is their intention/plan - I still think it's going to be longer than even they can predict, given the track record of the last 2 years. This isn't a criticism just trying to set my own expectations low for obvious reasons haha
  6. I'd bet it's way more than that. Ironmike said the current release order is F-4E, Eurofighter, and then A-6. They don't even have a plan for where the naval F-4 fits into that yet. At the risk of turning the forums into a Discord screenshot repository, here's the latest from Cobra - no Navy F-4 for a long, long time
  7. F-5E timestamps are: 39:06 1:07:07
  8. Hi there, I usually print with supports on the outside along the curved section of the trigger guard like so: I have not needed internal supports except in the cutouts in the base of the grip where the clamps insert
  9. Thank you for sharing these here!
  10. Unlike the F-14 variants, there is enough of a difference between the F-4E and the J/S to warrant an entirely new module, and according to the FAQ it will be a completely separate module from the F-4E. Release dates are tricky as we have seen, what we do know is that work on the Navy version has not started yet. HB had said work would start after the F-4E is complete, however we do not know what their planned release looks like compared to the other modules in their pipeline.
  11. Missiles have been confirmed up to and including the AIM-9M and AIM-7M
  12. All we can gauge from is their social media and social interaction - they are very very busy right now as they have been all year, and there is no indication there will be a release in 2023. My current estimate is "when it is ready" hahaha. Joking aside, I did think Christmas was a possibility, but they haven't even released the manual yet... looking like Feb/March at minimum, April/May at maximum. I would also love to be proven wrong, but we haven't seen any pics of the back seat, no system deep dives, no white papers... looking like a pretty dry run up with only a few weeks left in the year. Just my $0.02 and very much still stoked that it is around the corner no matter what!
  13. Thanks @NineLine appreciate you always following up with us on this module! We love it and can't wait to see what's in store. Cheers!
  14. They said it will be both a PDF and an online manual
  15. This is a great initiative! Already got started for Movember, will add this to the list! Although I may need to excuse myself from any winnings, as I took home the prize for the screenshot contest!
  16. This is a great suggestion!!
  17. This is outstanding. I believe this solves a key issue combat flight sims have always had: comparison. In a sim, everything works perfectly, so you are always comparing two aircraft at their best, with the pilot being the only variable. Now for the first time you can fly a jet as it actually may have been - sticky, some stuff works well, others not as well. We are no longer flying a sheet of paper with specs on it, but rather a living breathing jet that reacts. That's excellent. Now we just need the redfor aircraft to match! Finally, this makes me very excited for the future F-4 modules - the J and S - as you know, the AWG-10 radar and the head mounted display were not always 100% up. This new system means that if the mission editor decides they want to be closer to reality, they can select jets with all the issues the real ones faced. But if they want the mission to be a what-if scenario, they have this option too. Overall, I think this adds a whole bunch of flexibility to the user and means we can genuinely compare a factory fresh aircraft to a jet that's been on the line fighting, and the value in that is insurmountable!
  18. Yes this was indeed the intention! I have been running into an issue with the alps switches where the push is activated verey time I rock the switch in a direction - this is apparently a common issue with with using the alps switch in a DIY project, but a gentleman by the name of imarchemides on reddit figured out a custom PCB that solves this issue. I am still tinkering with it, but in the meantime I have been using standard 5-way switches like these ones: Thru-hole 5-way Navigation switch : ID 504 : $1.95 : Adafruit Industries, Unique & fun DIY electronics and kits Even cheaper copies are available from ali express, etc. These switches are pretty good, but I will continue trying to make the alps switches work perfectly!
  19. Curious if at release this will be the record, or if there were others that surpass it. Considering all these additional features that seems quite quick relative to others.
  20. Thank you so so so much for the scripting feature of Jester, this is going to be incredible!!
  21. I feel the same way - this is the closest many of us will ever get to the real deal! Cannot wait!!
  22. If this is the case I will literally jump for joy - I hope that's true!
  23. On October 26th, 2023, Heatblur posted this image on their social media: For context, on October 29th, 2016, this was the logo at the end of the "Ghosts and Thunder" Viggen teaser trailer: The Viggen was teased on October 29th, the Pre-Order date was one month later on November 28th, and the release was two months after that on January 27th. As for the Phantom, a few times now HB has mentioned they are hoping for a shorter Pre-Order period. Therefore! My prediction is Phantom release by Christmas. Thank you.
