  1. That doesn't strike me as the kind of problem a re-install would have anything to do with, I would look elsewhere first. Going from memory, assuming your canopy is open, I switch to ICS, then it's option 8, option 2, option 1, I believe, from the Comms menu (8,5,1 for Ground Air Supply).
  2. Do you have the latest versions of VoiceAttack and VAICOM? (should be 2.1.6 and 3.0.4.0 respectively)
  3. AFAIK you cannot create different folders with different music, but you could write a little batch file or something to swap out the music for whatever you want. The location is: \Program Files\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\F14\Sounds\Walkman (obviously, your install path may be slightly different, but it's not in the savedgames area). As long as your replacement songs have the same names and format, it will play them, but you will have to replace them again on every update. I keep mine in a separate folder, and every time there's an update, I run a batch file that resets various customizations including the songs. After pointing it to the directory I store my music in, the command I use is: copy song*.ogg "C:\Program Files\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\F14\Sounds\Walkman\" >nul
  4. If the plane has no power, you need to open the canopy, so the ground crew that does the work, can hear you.
  5. We should debate this.
  6. Dumb question, but what is the difference between DCS UFC, and DCS UFC X?
  7. Tilting vertically, I don't think that can be done. Rotating horizontally, yes, that can be done. It is a PS2 connector in there, and you can lower the handle to sit rotated slightly to the left or the right, then lock it in with the knurled cover so it doesn't move around. Once that's done, you definitely don't want to be rotating it any more, or you will rip the wiring inside (ugh, don't ask how I know that).
  8. I'm sure it's just me, but do you mean, rotated, or tilted? Because, yes, you can rotate them to anywhere you like by locking the collar at whatever spot you want it to be, but I don't think you can custom-tilt them, and looking at a picture of an F-15, I can only see a slight rotation.
  9. I might not be the only one, but I'm not really sure what you're asking. Can you elaborate?
  10. Drop the tanks, take the decreased drag win and move on.
  11. I can't speak to the mountain (but don't worry, I'm sure someone will be along in a moment), but as to the fleeing plane, Doppler works by sending out a radar wave, as the distance between the planes increases or decreases, the time it takes for the returning wave to arrive is either increased, or decreased. Some fancy math then tells the plane the range (from the time it takes for the return) and the velocity variance (from the slightly different return time of the next wave/s). And actually, now that I think about it, the mountain radar returns would equate to a stationary object once the velocity of the plane is removed, and stationary objects, probably aren't flying.
  12. VoiceAttack with VAICOM. "Scan High" Done. Or for more detailed usage, from the VAICOM manual: Scan Sector, Angels [0..70] for/at [0..150] Radar scan specific sector (use multiples of 5 for the numbers). Example: “Scan Sector, Angels fifty for forty five” – Scans sector at 50.000ft range 45NM.
  13. Apparently still working on the caps-lock issue though...
  14. Ironically, that's like a really good visual representation of the current DCS/RAZBAM relationship too.
  15. "We should tell them "bob" stands for something..."
  16. Practice makes perfect, you're about to get better at it. I did the exact same thing recently, moving from a 1 to a 2TB M. drive. I used Easeus Partition Master to do it, but it's the same procedure. As long as you don't screw up the "origin" and "destination" drive choices, it's pretty-much foolproof (I have to say "pretty much" cuz I've been on Reddit, where they seem to produce a higher quality fool ).
  17. You said you had Tacview installed, does it work? I ask because, Tacview also adds an entry to the export.lua file, "local Tacviewlfs=require('lfs');dofile(Tacviewlfs.writedir()..'Scripts/TacviewGameExport.lua')". If that line isn't in your export.lua file, but Tacview still works, I'm wondering if you've set the wrong path for DCS in SAP, and you're writing to the wrong file maybe?
  18. I'll buy that. And the day my OS drive fails, I'm gonna be pretty annoyed... if I realize that I have to reset about 1500 DCS bindings across a dozen aircraft (not to mention any mods or add-ons), taking several hours on top of that, now I'm pissed. So, a little more money, or a lot more frustration and save some money. I think those are the options.
  19. It's a game simulation, none of it is worth the money. Having said that, if it fits in your budget, it's not a bad thing to have. I have it, I like it, I use it, and I do appreciate the force feedback, from dropping tanks, to touchdown, feeling the expected vibrations is definitely more immersive (I also have a buttkicker installed, that provides a lot more ffb as well). Is it "necessary"? No. Is it nice to have? yes Is there a downside? Beyond expense, no.
  20. Yes, I meant VAICOM. And yes, good point about MP, I hadn't thought about that, although I have used it on some servers, you're right most probably aren't going to let you use the AIRIO module in MP, but for SP, it's pretty straightforward.
  21. Both of those things have explicit commands to activate in VoiceAttack too.

    Gear Down

Yes, the wheels are down when you or your wingman look.
  23. I, for one, will very definitely NOT be "curious about those tracks". You've offered nothing but opinion and claims you can't back up.
  24. What it tells you is, I stand corrected. As ancient as that video card is, it's still throwing out enough frames to be playable, but your CPU is getting crushed by the demands. So, CPU appears to be your biggest bottleneck right now. However, I can still almost guarantee, that even if you completely eliminate any CPU-bound problems (CPU/GPU-bound means it can't keep up with what's being asked for), that video card would still need an update too, esp once you get up in the air, and there's more things for your machine to track visually.
  25. Those were not the GPU/CPU graphs I was looking for. In-game, while flying, press Left control and pause, you will get an overlay showing your output rate, and telling you whether you're GPU-bound, or CPU-bound. Should look something like this (see attached). While your machine certainly isn't overpowered, I'll be surprised if you're not just getting "GPU-Bound" constantly.
