  1. The above works. The first thing I do every time I boot up DCS is hit Ctrl-1 because ASW is the devil. Why don‘t you just keep it off by default in OTT or ODT? And stutters are the devil as well…it‘s simply a matter of choosing your poison.
  3. There is no easy answer to this. What works for him might not work for you. But if you increase the supersampling resolution, the image quality increases. As for the bitrate…I experimented with it and went back to default… There should not be any conflicts. You just have to switch to make Oculus your OpenXR runtime (and back to WMR if you want to go back to the G2). No big deal. Problem is, that VR is usually a relatively complex matter, so there is no such thing as a „quick test“, that would lead you to an educated conclusion. Not necessarily. If you can start a dedicated WiFi almost solely for the connection of the HMD with the PC you can try the native Air Link or Virtual Desktop.
  4. Have you done anything else with your HMD since DCS last worked? Did you play any other games?
  5. @Experimental_J73 Hab das gerade zufällig bei einer anderen Suche gefunden: (Das unten mit dem „Bloom effect“ etc. gehört natürlich nicht mehr zu Deiner Frage…
  6. @Minskie I agree with most of what Rob said. The biggest downside of the TM throttle is, that it doesn‘t have a spring-centered Radar elevation knob. If you buy a bundle with the Warthog stick, then you don‘t have a real substitute for that anywhere on your HOTAS. On the TM F/A-18 stick, they added a substitute for that on the stick (a pretty ingenious move by TM, that gets blatantly overlooked by most reviews). I must add though, that the TM F/A-18 stick has some problems with its switches sometimes. On mine, the WSS forward has to be actively pulled back in order to disengage. Other than that, I would agree with Robs suggested setup. @rob10 I have the Orion2 with F/A-18 grips and fingerlifts. Just in case you are not aware…they are pretty much push through…you don‘t have to actively lift the fingerlifts to get into AB.
  7. @dooom How about WMR? Does it start? Is it set as OpenXR runtime?
  8. @winghunter More pixels to be calculated means more work for the GPU. The fact that you still have VRAM left has not much to do with it. At least that‘s my understanding. I have pretty much the same specs as you and one is not ENTIRELY CPU bound with a 4090 in VR. Fly low over the Mariannas in a jet (free flight) and you will most likely be GPU bound. Same goes for Gaza and several other complex areas.
  9. Puh…da fragst Du mich jetzt was.
  11. @Mr_sukebe Even though what you are saying is true, that was not the question of the OP. He asked for the advantages of a lased weapon over EO/IR. Besides, there are countermeasures for lasers as well (i.e. smoke or even detecting the laser and shooting back at it).
  12. @Experimental_J73 Wozu bitte brauchst Du Open Composite Runtime? OXR Toolkit Companion verstehe ich, aber „Open XR“ alleine? Was soll das sein?
  13. NWS works as advertised for me. Can‘t think of anything, you are doing wrong. As for the DDI buttons:
  14. What you set as resolution in the ingame settings has absolutely nothing to do with the res in VR and should not really impact performance. However, I have it set to the lowest possible res…just in case….
  15. @aleader I think you need a monitor for PCVR. It also seems to be common understanding, that this does not actually impact performance really. I didn‘t want to take any chances with the cable and bought the official Oculus link cable. You need to check, that the respective cable is capable of providing data and power at the same time.
  16. No. This is only the case if you actually have 2 separate installs. Personally I don‘t see much use for that, but some people might want to have a DCS stable install and one DCS Open Beta install. Multi-thread makes better use of the several cores of the CPU. So it should usually perform better. In the medium to long term DCS will certainly leave the ST version behind anyways. But what is it, that you actually want to achieve? I am still not sure, what your initial question was getting at? EDIT: Feel free to PM me in german if you like.
  17. @MAXsenna @SharpeXB Most people need a very slight deadzone on the stick though, because otherwise the BALT/RALT won‘t engage or disengage quickly in the Hornet. @ruddy122 For the most part you shouldn‘t even touch the pitch much in landing configuration. You trim the flight path marker into the E-bracket and then fly it just by modulating the throttle.
  18. Yeah…I definitely see your point. Thing is, originally I opted for the TM F/A-18 stick because I simply didn‘t like the fact, that the RS stick doesn‘t have a paddle. I now got the RS F/A-18 stick though (a used v1 also) , because I just couldn‘t resist anymore. I use one of the additional buttons of the NWS button as paddle. I am contemplating building my own paddle by 3D printing now. Something relatively simple, similar to the one on the TM stick. My idea is to just solder it to the NWS down function and simply hijack that signal. I mean the RS extension/paddle is really nice and I would be willing to pay, but it would require some more rearrangements on my desk-pot, that I am currently not willing to make (my seat doesn‘t have a cutout for an extended stick).
  19. You are mixing up things here. If you want to use the multithreaded version of DCS is up to you and has nothing to do with VR. If your question actually is, if you can execute DCS in VR / non-VR without going into the options and checking/unchecking the VR option, then yes, you can do that. Just create 2 shortcuts to the DCS.exe (either the ST one in the bin folder or the MT one in the bin-mt folder…up to you). Then open the properties of the shortcuts and add: —force_disable_VR or —force_enable_VR to the target lines.
  20. If you use the multithreaded version of DCS ( the DCS.exe in the bin-mt folder) and you have Oculus set as your OpenXR runtime as described in a post above, then you are not using SteamVR.
  21. Don‘t worry, I had the same questionmarks above my head, when I got my Quest Pro. Now…none of the software you mentioned is really NEEDED and some even completely useless (Windows Mixed Reality). At a later stage, when it comes to tweaking you might want to use OXR Toolkit Companion and Oculus Debug Tool or Oculus Tray Tool. Do you have the Meta software already installed on your PC? (Disclaimer: My experience is only based on the Quest Pro, but I guess the basics should be all the same.)
  22. @Morat I think the Quest 3 would suit your needs. I went from the G2 to a Quest Pro becauseI also wanted DFR and I accepted the slightly lower resolution. EDIT: Also I wouldn‘t worry too much about WMR yet….I think it‘s not really clear at what point WMR will end up being removed or unusable.
  23. You are not the first one to bring this up. I would have to search for the other thread though… To sum it up: no, it‘s currently not possible.
  24. Some people seem to be amazed with VD, but me personally find the MFDs in the Hornet unreadable. So cabled link it is for me. I do get some occasional shimmer on water mostly when ASW kicks in. Quest link max resolution goes far beyond what you can choose with VD (if you use Oculus tray tool or oculus debug tool).
