  1. @J4ckson Hoffentlich aus dem EU store?!
  2. @Aussie Pilot ->3.) Yes…somewhere during your setup of the HMD or on the sertings(?) there should have been the option to test the speed of your USB connection. >4.) Yes. And you probably use it already. In the options of the Meta/Oculus software there is an option called „Use Oculus as OpenXR runtime“…check that And use the DCS.exe that you find in the bin-mt folder to execute the game. That was not his question though and might just bring a level of complexity that is a tad too much for someone who is just finding his way into setting up his HMD.
  3. @Nightdare Copy that…and you are probably right. My whole point is though, that sometimes people advertise a certain setting/tweak as if it was the best thing since sliced bread without also mentioning the downsides or specifying their particular use case. I don‘t fly warbirds, that‘s why I simply pointed out my lack of knowledge in that regard and that they are „maybe“(!) not affected as much by lower res. The same happens often with regards to motion reprojection (ASW etc…), where people simply say something along the lines of „leave it off, it‘s bad“. Some people might not come to these forums very often and take such comments as a generally applicable „truth“. But well…yeah…I digress….it‘s the internet, right…?!
  6. Any ideas on the pricing yet?
  7. I use OTT mainly, bit since I never really turn off ASW except for FPS testing, I wouldn‘t know.
  8. The above works. The first thing I do every time I boot up DCS is hit Ctrl-1 because ASW is the devil. Why don‘t you just keep it off by default in OTT or ODT? And stutters are the devil as well…it‘s simply a matter of choosing your poison.
  10. There is no easy answer to this. What works for him might not work for you. But if you increase the supersampling resolution, the image quality increases. As for the bitrate…I experimented with it and went back to default… There should not be any conflicts. You just have to switch to make Oculus your OpenXR runtime (and back to WMR if you want to go back to the G2). No big deal. Problem is, that VR is usually a relatively complex matter, so there is no such thing as a „quick test“, that would lead you to an educated conclusion. Not necessarily. If you can start a dedicated WiFi almost solely for the connection of the HMD with the PC you can try the native Air Link or Virtual Desktop.
  11. Have you done anything else with your HMD since DCS last worked? Did you play any other games?
  13. @Minskie I agree with most of what Rob said. The biggest downside of the TM throttle is, that it doesn‘t have a spring-centered Radar elevation knob. If you buy a bundle with the Warthog stick, then you don‘t have a real substitute for that anywhere on your HOTAS. On the TM F/A-18 stick, they added a substitute for that on the stick (a pretty ingenious move by TM, that gets blatantly overlooked by most reviews). I must add though, that the TM F/A-18 stick has some problems with its switches sometimes. On mine, the WSS forward has to be actively pulled back in order to disengage. Other than that, I would agree with Robs suggested setup. @rob10 I have the Orion2 with F/A-18 grips and fingerlifts. Just in case you are not aware…they are pretty much push through…you don‘t have to actively lift the fingerlifts to get into AB.
  14. @dooom How about WMR? Does it start? Is it set as OpenXR runtime?
  15. @winghunter More pixels to be calculated means more work for the GPU. The fact that you still have VRAM left has not much to do with it. At least that‘s my understanding. I have pretty much the same specs as you and one is not ENTIRELY CPU bound with a 4090 in VR. Fly low over the Mariannas in a jet (free flight) and you will most likely be GPU bound. Same goes for Gaza and several other complex areas.
  16. Puh…da fragst Du mich jetzt was.
  18. @Mr_sukebe Even though what you are saying is true, that was not the question of the OP. He asked for the advantages of a lased weapon over EO/IR. Besides, there are countermeasures for lasers as well (i.e. smoke or even detecting the laser and shooting back at it).
  19. @Experimental_J73 Wozu bitte brauchst Du Open Composite Runtime? OXR Toolkit Companion verstehe ich, aber „Open XR“ alleine? Was soll das sein?
  20. NWS works as advertised for me. Can‘t think of anything, you are doing wrong. As for the DDI buttons:
  21. What you set as resolution in the ingame settings has absolutely nothing to do with the res in VR and should not really impact performance. However, I have it set to the lowest possible res…just in case….
  22. @aleader I think you need a monitor for PCVR. It also seems to be common understanding, that this does not actually impact performance really. I didn‘t want to take any chances with the cable and bought the official Oculus link cable. You need to check, that the respective cable is capable of providing data and power at the same time.
  23. No. This is only the case if you actually have 2 separate installs. Personally I don‘t see much use for that, but some people might want to have a DCS stable install and one DCS Open Beta install. Multi-thread makes better use of the several cores of the CPU. So it should usually perform better. In the medium to long term DCS will certainly leave the ST version behind anyways. But what is it, that you actually want to achieve? I am still not sure, what your initial question was getting at? EDIT: Feel free to PM me in german if you like.
  24. @MAXsenna @SharpeXB Most people need a very slight deadzone on the stick though, because otherwise the BALT/RALT won‘t engage or disengage quickly in the Hornet. @ruddy122 For the most part you shouldn‘t even touch the pitch much in landing configuration. You trim the flight path marker into the E-bracket and then fly it just by modulating the throttle.
