Also ggf. Geduld mitbringen.

missing track file After takeoff, elevator no in default position
Phantom711 replied to wywsy22's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Does it only happen when you do a cold start? Then recheck the startup procedure, especially the part about FCS reset and the take-off trim button. -
OpForAC - Opposing Force AI Aircraft script
Phantom711 replied to 609_Relentov's topic in Scripting Tips, Tricks & Issues
Nice...thanks. Vice versa I tried setting the mission as a MP mission and the script worked . This also got me into trying to use my laptop as a dedicated server for the first time, which worked quite well. Two ideas, if you are open to suggestions: 1. Make it an option to have a random aircraft type spawn (random modern, random 70s etc). Maybe throw in a friendly aircraft every once in a while so it would make for a nice VID scenario. I know, the later would open a new can of worms though. 2. Add a "repeat" option on the first page of the "comms menu" so one doesn`t need to go through the whole chain again if one wants to continue to fight with the same setting. -
OpForAC - Opposing Force AI Aircraft script

Thanks for your reply. yes, it was a pure SP mission with me as a player aircraft. so seems like an easy workaround then. I will try tomorrow. -
OpForAC - Opposing Force AI Aircraft script
Phantom711 replied to 609_Relentov's topic in Scripting Tips, Tricks & Issues
Hey.. as I mentioned in the other thread, I tried out that script. Please note, that I had just started to "play" around with the Mission Editor, but I had used triggers already and implemented your script in a SP mission as advised. When I start the mission, I do get the message that the script is active. I can go through the comm menu but then nothing happens. Am I supposed to do something else after the last menu (number of aircraft)? -
Thanks, Just noted though, that the JDAM ripple prcedure (or workaround actually) is not correct or at least not necessary anymore, You can assign a TOO target to each station individually by TDC depress. Next you select QTY to choose from which stations to drop. It will not overwrite the coordinate of the previous STA anymore like it apparently did some time ago. You can not assign individual coordinates to bombs on double-racks though. so the max number of JDAMs dropped per pass is 4 (if 4x double-racks loaded). (I also just found your OPForAC script....I will definitely check that out. Sounds great.)

If one owns physical MFDs, the last thing one wants to do is to then map buttons on the HOTAS that were meant to be on the MFDs. Sure…we have to make compromises but some also want as much realism as possible. To the OP: If a real Hornet pilot can do it, so can you. Just think of it like you are taking the same challange as him/her. As Marlan stated, you can assign a specific radar setup to each weapon via the SET function. Once set, the same range/AZ/BAR setzing will come up when you select tge respective weapon. You have to do it on every mission again though. Hope a data cardridge comes rather sooner than later…

I have to bring this up again. I just got into building missions and I find it pretty hard to find up to date information. In the video above, the guy checks a box, that says "Uncontrolled". this box imply does not exist on my AI aircraft menu. Also in a different video tutorial someone used a "Hold" command as an advanced waypoint option in order for the unit to stop what it is doing until a trigger (Flag) is executed. That Hold command doesn`t exist either. WTF? EDIT: Ok...fun fact: The "UNCONTROLLED" checkbox only appears if you select "take off from ramp". NOT from parking lot.

Uninstalled and installed VoiceAttack again. Installed VAICOM via the msi-Installer and then reimported the profiles. I do get the VAICOM menu now. So it was just me being too sloppy during my first update attempt. I can`t get the kneeboard pages to cycle through the different pages, but that seems to be a common problem.

I just shut down my computer...I wll try again tomorrow. Thanks for your effort so far. Maybe I will have to simply uninstall, clean the registry and install again.... So basically exactly what I tried to avoid. I knew it would cause trouble, that I had to update both programs... anyways....thanks for your help...I appreciate it.

Sorry. If I try to actually click on that window it closes itself back to the bar at the bottom which is also why I cannot use the snipping tool. any click will just make the window go back to the bar. YIf I hover over it, it says "VAICOM for DCS world-community edition" as already mentioned. Is that what the VAICOM menu would usually be called?
-
The two small ones at the bottom left-middle. the left one is just the normal VA and the right one opens when I press the mentioned key combo. I tried while running DCS and without.
-
Hey...one more problem now: I tried to open that VAICOM window with LCtr+LAlt+C but nothing happens really. There is some kind of addditional voicaAttack window opening that is named "VAICOM for DCS world-community edition", but it is all white and nothing one could do with it.

@MAXsenna Thanks for your quick answer. Your answer and the instructions that I found eventually got me to figure it out.

1. What altitude did they start their climb? What speed were they at, when they started to pull up? 2. The F/A-18 is basically a 40 year old airframe. There is certainly not that much secrecy about the performance data alone. (And just to be clear: yes, certain aspects of the avionic systems certainly are secret)
-
Hey...sorry, if this had been asked before. I have had VAICOM when it was still payware and had it set up and running. I remember though, that it was relatively complicated to set up. Now I would like to simply upgrade to the latest version. When I start VoiceAttack it also offers me a newer version and leads me to the respective download page. I download it. and then? do I just reinstall it? Will it keep my settings? Why doesn´t it just upgrade itself? I know, that this is a completely separate thing...but you guys certainly know... Now....same question basically for VAICOM. The sticky thread mentiones to refer to the "installation instructions" if one wants to just upgrade but all I found was the full up manual. In any case...thanks to all those who keep VAICOM alive. EDIT: Ok...I think I have found those "Installation Instructions". That GitHub has an absolutely stupid UI....

Orion F-15EX Throttle - wait for it or go for F-18 instead?
Phantom711 replied to Canadus's topic in Winwing
I would say, it depends: Do you really NEED a new throttle or do you just have that „itch“ that you want something new? What is your favourite module? F-15 throttle probably offers more options in the long run whereas the F-18 throttle is still good and perfect for…well uhmm…the F-18 . From my experience with WW, if you can pre-order it, it will restock within a reasonable time. If I had to place a bet, I would say, if you pre-order now, you will have it at your doorsteps in october latest(!). Also mind 10% customs + 19% EUst.! (If you are not using their new EU store). I am also from Germany. PM me, if you have any questions. -
Mine does not look like that but it could still be something from the production process. Are there any real problems with it?
-
Just use velcro or 3M dual lock.

Any guides to the real world F/a-18 HOTAS?
Phantom711 replied to The_Chugster's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
@The_Chugster One is not supposed to put any links here, but nobody can hold you back from googling f/a-18 flight manual. You wouldn‘t find out anything new though. -
As already stated, the fingerlifts itself are just mechanical, but the orion 2 has „hidden“ buttons on the axis positions at off (full aft) and idle. You can just assign those buttons to the respective functions in the DCS control setup. How that goes along with the F-15E controls, I don‘t know. Maybe assign the idle position button to JFS start? I simply don‘t know the startup procedure for the F-15E. Screenshot of the respective F-15E controls menu would help.
-
It depends. A Hornet stick is supposed to be at a more conventional position so that your arm is laying on your leg basically. I don‘t feel like it‘s tiring. (Just for the records: I have the TM Hornet stick, but since the ergonomics are obviously the same, I thought I am still eligible to comment) @H60MTI I can only speak for Europe, but shipping on available items is usually pretty fast. A week or two maybe from order to your doorstep.

Maybe you have configured for game mode and the sim is actually ijn sim mode or vice versa? Not even sure, if that option still exists. Or DCS simply knows, what`s best for you and overrides your selection Now honesly, the CMS position reflects the weapon select switch better than what you have configured. Maybe you actually want to reconsider.
