Does the Apache FCR require Open Beta and will not work in Stable?
LorenLuke replied to salsantana's topic in DCS: AH-64D
Judging from the fact that they're talking about the MMA being added via a checkbox versus done through the rearm menu, I imagine that would indicate that their current DCS install is SERIOUSLY out of date. @salsantana I would highly recommend you set your install back to the stable client and update it, and run it from there. I imagine quite a few things have changed since, for you. -
I mean, the graphs say how the helicopter behaves. That's literally all they do. It may be different for the helicopter you've flown, but I bet that has different graphs.

Then complain to Boeing. This is just a faithful recreation of the aircraft.

Just curious if this is a bug or no (in contrast to the real aircraft), but is the ZOOM on the RMAP not supposed to have terrain data?

why does f10 map utm coordinates differ from tsd map coordinates?
LorenLuke replied to bephanten's topic in DCS: AH-64D
To be honest, the reason I didn't also put this is because I don't think it's actually 'Y', but rather based on the location of the key in the keyboard, i.e. some keyboards, like the German one,are QWERTZ, and I believe it's their LAlt+Z that does this function... so Left Alt+<Whatever is between R and U> is probably the best, though not the most concise, description of that key combo. -

Left ALT + Left Click Alternatively, coordinates for where your mouse cursor currently is are displayed in the top left corner of the screen. -
https://steamdb.info/app/223750/history/?changeid=24716978 Seems the last push update was 9 hours ago to the 'beta2' (I assume it's an internal build) branch. There seems to be no activity on the branches labeled 'openbeta' or 'public' since July 22nd. Looks like they forgot about us when they shut off the lights and went home. No weekend DCS for me, I guess.

Nor does my Steam.

Reminder that them removing the product from their store or changing the listing without notice, approval, or some other legal mumbo jumbo requiring RB or some specific outside entity's involvement could possibly be a breach of the parts of the contract between ED and RazBam that still stand. Furthermore, given all the refunds, should there be a reasonable conclusion reached and withheld funds disbursed, I feel like RB might want there to be more sales of their product, not less.

I do wonder how much of it is 'acting', sometimes.

OH-58D Cyclic Central Position Trimmer Mode Bug
LorenLuke replied to HalasKor's topic in Bugs and Problems
Check through some of the gameplay options in the main menu's settings menu (and not in the module specific 'specials' menu). There's one labeled either 'Force Feedback' or 'FFB'. If you do not have a force feedback stick, ensure that this box is UNCHECKED. -
Additional bindings that would be appreciated...
LorenLuke replied to RangerGav's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
These still do not exist. -
I'm stuck in a similar situation and I can't for the life of me figure out what, if anything, that I'm doing wrong.

LMC and the WPN page switches on the Copilot's side do not behave the same if they are activated/switched via a joystick or button box, versus how it behaves when clicked by the mouse.

Is there a Time-on-Target mode for the Apache?
LorenLuke replied to durka-durka's topic in DCS: AH-64D
I know it's a little math-intensive, but from my in-game research, you can get basically within a second or two with... 2(X1.38) Where the X is the distance in kilometers. It's not exact, and you'll need a calculator, but it works as a good rule of thumb. -
Advice Reqd - Technique to drop GBU for JTAC
LorenLuke replied to James744's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
The issue is that if you drop the bomb from too low, it may not have time/energy to maneuver, as there's a bit of a power-up time for the seeker after it's been dropped. The jet, at current release at time of this post has no laser spot search/laser spot track capability (and, though I don't know for sure, it may be that even the DMAS version might also not have this capability). -
The real life counterparts would via JVMF. However, this capability is not modeled for the AH-64. The KW can send points via JVMF to other KW in game, but any sending of points for remote hellfire missions between the two dissimilar platforms can only be done via voice comms.

Pilot display Unit as rearm/refuel option?
LorenLuke replied to AnarchyZG's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
From what I recall I've heard a couple of them say... The PDU goes from 'Pilot Display Unit' to 'Pilot Destroying Unit' when the airbag goes off as it's launched straight into their face at air-bag velocities. -
Yes, but you cannot set it to any number higher than 3. If you have four missiles, at least one must be set to the alternate frequency. With three missiles, however (e.g. after firing one), you can set it again to 3 and 0. Alternatively, is if you are on the alternate code, you can just hit the 'toggle codes' button and switch to the primary code.

Will this make it to this week's patch?

[2.9.5.55918 MT] FREEZE and TARGET INSERT buttons do not illuminate
LorenLuke replied to Stickler's topic in Bugs & Problems
I believe it was mentioned that they'll receive this in the next patch. At minimum, HB is aware of this. -
What the heck is the Synthetic voice sayin!?

The first two exist already with the L2MUMS system, as it's modeled, to view transmitted video The second one exists with the JVMF Datalink system, to send and receive free text and target points. The third one exists in real life, also through the JVMF, but would require ED to implement the feature in their own AH-64 module, which currently is not. The Apache to Apache Datalink used in game is a different system from this. The latter three will largely need to be done by coordination with a human player over voice communications, supplemented where necessary by laser guided weapons, using the Kiowa as the laser designator.
