Command: A Battle Damage Assessment(BDA) check on your aircraft. Yeah panels don't pop off but we can take damage. Formation or command: Loose deuce formation. Ideal for a two ship, flight lead and wingman. The wingman is allowed freedom to maneuver within 1 mile of the lead. So like a tether between the two aircraft.

Not what I said at all

I 100% agree but it would be nice to have some kind of idea. And if they know they're not going to make a deadline just own up to it. Instead of the smoke and shadow game. Anything is better then silence and waiting to look at a new patch note. Roadmap: By the end of 2025 our goal is this. By mid 2026 the goal is this. etc etc. Ok cool now we know. I look at this from a mission maker perspective so I'm buying all the maps to see if I can make something for my group, but instead I'm telling them to hold off. And I know there's plenty more users out there wanting the same.

User feedback: It's been a year since launch and the ground textures still break it for me. For example the default AH-64 free flight through the valleys is really rough and not a good example to have as default instant action. That was my first taste of the map and it was horrible and it still is. I would really love it if they got more map data to make it more accurate other then a satellite image. I would REALLY love it if there was some in-game map feature that showed where all the COPs were during this maps time frame and the correct terrain so mission makers can replicate them. Panjwai(Kandahar) isn't Panjwai in DCS, I tried recreating my old routes numerous times but can't because they are simply not there. I have only flown it a handful of times but I don't know, I think Syria just set the bar too high and was able to execute changes & fixes a lot faster instead of long periods of waiting. Which is awesome for a paying customer. Also from a mission maker perspective. A region boarder to show exactly where the different payable regions are instead of coming here to look at the FAQ would be huge. That way if I'm making a mission and I have the whole map but some users only have high detail in the East region I know exactly where their limits are.

Can we get a rough estimate roadmap? That way we know how long this one will be getting worked on and the estimate completion of the map. Don't need exact dates but a rough estimate would be nice. I would love to recreate a bunch of OIF missions but the current state it's just lacking. I'm sure a bunch of campaign makers out there are just waiting for this to get good once things are closer to being in their final configuration.

100% agreed. Both maps are rough compared to Syria for low level. Another reason why I think ED should let 3rd parties handle most of the DLC's while ED focuses on the core and long term bug issues.
-
Assuming that means ED is doing the rafale and not a 3rd party? Would love to see razbam come back and tackle the rafale with their previous Dassault, French ADA connections, and their knowledge in the delta wing. The M2000 is the best flying aircraft to this day in DCS in my opinion.

I requested this a couple years ago and the response was pretty much what draconus said. The lighting is based on the time.

Pushed my V3 version as of 9/28/2025. Mission File is in the OP and updated in the user files. - Updated the rockets used. - Air Spawns are now set to Active pause. - Kneeboards updated. - Kneeboards are in correct order. - Adjusted the PID range so the targets are closer together for easier searches. - Units "Hidden" from MFD so they don't fill the CTRLM page. Might have been the old rockets that are no longer in DCS causing IC issues. I just updated the mission file.

Request Mission Editor: "Hidden on MFD" revision.
Tom P replied to Tom P's topic in DCS Core Wish List
@BIGNEWY @NineLine Can you move this to the Mission editor wish list. -
I suggested in the past for a AI super hornet that we could buddy refuel from for modern day naval operations. A KA-6 would be sweet too for cold war naval ops and using the in-game CVN Forrestal.

Agreed, wish we had more inhouse features like this. There's a kneeboard mod out there that lets you do it.

Add ground units with "Hidden on MFD" option
Tom P replied to Tom P's topic in DCS: AH-64D Outpost Campaign
Yeah no problem. Most mission makers don't know it, the default behavior should really be swapped as it effects other aircraft as well. -
Would be nice to see this eventually be added to the ED modules. And it's been request many times. We know it shouldn't be that hard as a previous dev team was able to add it within a patch window.

Starting off this isn't your fault, it's a default game behavior; and if you consider this request it would be time consuming. So the Apache in DCS automatically adds every unit(friendly & enemy) to it's coord page in the control measure category(CTRLM). Unless you use the Hidden on MFD option. Those friendly units like the bradleys and fuel trucks at the starting location are automatically taking CTRLM slots. Enemy positions scattered throughout the map are all filling in those slots as well. The apace only has 9 pages and those fill up quick with units auto populating. The problem: Most of the missions you receive clearwater's or a friendly grid location which would be ideal to add to as a CM(control measure) point that way it populates on the TSD map as a CM. But you would need to go into the CTRLM page and delete those auto populated units one by one which can get time consuming. And then most likely need to pause the game to check the message history for the grid as the message is gone by the time someone deletes a point. Something to consider. Most users might not know this or even how to use control measures, and just add clearwater as a new waypoint. Again not your fault, and totally understand if you don't want to do all that work.

Currently the default option is everything is on the MFD when it should be the other way around. So instead of a option to Hide a unit there should be a option to "Show" on MFD. Unless you suggest that intel is that great so we know exactly where everything is on the battlefield. (this is satire) But anyways, I could be wrong but I think most mission makers would like the objects to be hidden by default and make things a lot easier. Why: So mission makers don't have to go through every unit to hide them from populating on a MFD or COORD page. Instead the key focus targets or main threats are the ones populating on the MFD with using a Show on MFD option. First example: AH-64. The apache automatically adds every single unit (Friendly & enemy) to it's COORD pages and there's only 9 pages and it populates very quick. And if there is a mission maker or campaign maker using units to populate a base those 9 coord pages are now completely filled. And if you're in the cockpit and have to remove those populated units, its a one by one process. Do you see where I'm going with this? So if we're playing a mission or campaign that someone else made and all 9 pages are full from auto populating, but we need to add a waypoint with a control measure, lets say a friendly unit. Now the user needs to go into the coord page, do the process to delete one of those automatically populated points, pause the game, read the message history for the grid again because they're to busy deleting a point that shouldn't be there by default. This example is very real in DCS and would be prevented if the default behavior was set to hidden on MFD. Last example: F-16. The HSD page only shows units that have a radar. If a mission maker is adding radar guided AAA or SAMs they're automatically populating on the HSD. So by default the MFD/HSD is spaghetti soup full of threat rings. If there's a vulcan 100 miles away and nowhere close to the route or objective area, it's populating on the HSD. And if the mission maker doesn't want those units to be seen they have to go through them in the editor and hide every single one.

Depends on the set up. I'm using this as I have a desk mount. https://www.monster.tech/en/product/winwing-panel-holder-v2/

I don't have combined arms. I'm just talking from a mission editor perspective.

Not sure if this belongs in the weapons bug category but since it's dealing with a weapon I will post it here. The M2A2 Bradley does not have the option to select HE or AP rounds. The LAV-25 has this option, both vehicles share the same chain gun. Not sure what it's currently shooting as a default.

@BIGNEWY @NineLineAny chances this could be a easy addition to the mission editor?
-
I don't want to that guy but Razbam isn't supporting their products at this time.

Hey look it's the same usual crowd.

Unfortunately it's the same couple dozen people on this forum and we don't see the whole user experience since probably a majority of users don't know this forum is a thing. I think the issue is the team doesn't want to acknowledge the issues because there's to much on their plate already and instead of being open they rather be all smoke and shadows or hope the next shiny EA toy will distract us. Yes multiplayer is and has been popular. Need to remember not everyone has the same play style as you. Having a redfor with the same aircraft and that has the same capabilities as you is lame or trying to restrict them because they don't fit in the red role sucks. "Oh you're F-16CM that's not meant to be a red aircraft only has AIM-120s as a BVR missile? ok here's only AIM-9Ms." You cant disable datalink or remove the HMDs because eagle dynamics doesn't have the option to do that. So for example you can be on a cold war server in a F/A-18 or F-16 and rock a JHMCs with datalink all day long because there's no way to stop it. While the true Red aircraft are already at a disadvantage from the start. PVP used to be really good a few years ago but like Blackhawk said, anytime a red missile became better, somehow the 120 is superior next patch. The SD-10 was great, now it's almost R-77 hot garbage. PVE BVR combat is a joke because the blue side is so OP compared to the red flaming cliff aircraft. "Oh no a Su-27 shot at me with an Fox 1... let me notch the radar quick and do a barrel roll" Or how it really happens. "Hmm got a RWR contact from a Su-27. Fox 3..... splash."
