  1. "Also, the K-14 is a much better gunsight than the EZ42, so don't sweat it." Tests by american pilots proved, that the EZ42 was better than the K-14.
  2. LOOOOOOL  Best MiG21 movie ever...
  3. No, i mean the gauge for the manifold pressure.
  4. You are right. The manifold pressure was important to ground crews, for maintenance reasons. It's explained in the Jumo manual. BMW and Daimler engines were controlled by manifold pressure. The pilot chooses a certain pressure value and all other settings (rpm, propeller pitch etc.) were changed to meet the right conditions.
  5. Sources? -Jumo 213 Manual, there's all explained in detail -Die deutsche Luftfahrt - Flugmotoren und Strahltriebwerke (ISBN: 3-7637-6128-4) By the way, Yo-Yo explained it in the Jumo 213 engine thread as well (http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114094).
  6. I want to add, that the sim models the MBG/Jumo 213 right. Only the manual in this regard is wrong.
  7. "The pilot simply has to move the throttle lever to set the desired manifold pressure. The "Bediengerät" takes care of the rest, setting all other parameters to allow the engine to properly operate at the desired manifold pressure, given the current flight conditions." As i mentioned it in another thread, it's nonsense for the Jumo 213. The Jumo was operated only by rpm and observing the fuel consumption. The gauge for Manifold pressure was only for monitoring purposes.
  8. I don't get it, what's so hard to take off in the dora? Flightstick backwards to lock tailwheel, throttle to full power, at 150 - 170 km/h flightstick to center position and the Dora get's airborne. No need of brakes. If the Dora goes left, use the rudder a little bit. That's it.
  9. Ordered it. Well done LN!
  10. 5. Verify take-off position by observing the mechanical indicator on the wing. That's right. There's a little hole in the right wing, showing at which degree the flaps are positioned. (30° or 60°) Normally, there is one on every wing, it's reported and should be solved with the first patch, i hope. Edit: Sithspawn was faster.
  11. With MW50 switch off: (max power output: 1750PS) 3000rpm = Kampf- und Steigleistung. (combat and climbing power) 3250rpm = Start- und Notleistung. (start and emergency power) You can use "Steigleistung" as long as you want. Notleistung was limited to 30 min, if i remember correctly. With MW50 switch on: (max power output: 2100PS) 3250rpm + MW50 = Sondernotleistung. Something like "special emergency power". That was limited to 10 minutes, afterwards you had to cool down the engine by lower rpm for at least 5 minutes. Over 5500 meters, you have to turn off MW50, because the critical height of the Jumo is reached. That means, MW50 has little to no effect. Historically, not all Dora's had the MW50 boost system. The auxiliary tank could be filled with extra B4 too. So it was not always available. Hope it helps.
  14. If you start the Dora in flight, the oxygen valve is closed and the artificial compass is in the "Fest" position. Nonetheless both instruments are working anyway.
  15. The fuel descriptions on the dora are wrong. The Jumo 213 A-1 was flown only with B4 (87 Oktan) fuel. If you look at the skin of the dora, you can see there are only C3 (100 Oktan) signs. Instead of the C3 sign on the left side behind the canopy, there should be a MW50 sign. All other should be B4.
  16. Hi Blech, about GM1: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM-1
  17. The Ta152H-0 had no MW50 / GM1. Only the H-1 had both of it.
  18. Maybe there's a reason why it was done this way, oh my gosh, sry doesn't happen again... :( Over and out...
  19. I don't have any problem with that. It wasn't my concern. I said it's authentic, dunno what's your problem?
  20. I know it's strange, but all pictures of the ZSK244 show "wagerecht". If you look into the manual of the ZSK, it's called waagerecht... :D Do we have an ZSK244 expert?^^
  21. It's authentic, nonetheless it's a typo... What i can imagine is, the word waagerecht is to long on the right site, so they wrote it with only with one "a"???
  22. From original manual of the Dora 9: 3250rpm = Start- und Notleistung (with MW50 Sondernotleistung) 3000rpm = Steig- und Kampfleistung 2700rmp = Dauerleistung I don't know the rpm for saving fuel, but 2200 - 2400 should be ok. Can you confirm this Yo-Yo?
  23. Nice post, that's something i want to know, too (throttle start position). It's possible in the A-10C, so it must be possible for the Dora too.
  24. Very nice read!!! Thank you Yo-Yo for your hard work! It's nice that a real Dora pilot helps to get the best modeled Dora of all time... Release it now!!! :P
  25. Hi RNeves, no, there's nothing in the manual. I miss it too. From what i know: The version we have, a Dora with MW50, it should be 10 minutes. After that, a pause for at least 5 minutes with normal power setting. After these 5 minutes, again 10 minutes with maximum power setting.
