I set up a route in the Mission Editor, start the mission, load the data cartridge, 9099 etc. All is well. The LS for the runway is incorrect so I switch to BANAGRANS, input, hit LS and change the runway direction, back to AKT POS and UT. I do the same for L1. While I'm pressing buttons I change the B4 waypoint to a target waypoint. From now on the course indicator for LS is stuck at whatever waypoint I selected last - in this case M4. All other waypoints swing the route indicator other that LS. Once I get in the air the route swings to B1. Okay, so it isn't not stopping me flying other than it is blooming annoying! BTW - since the 2.9 update, and while flying the AJS-37, DCS regularly crashes when approaching the runway in Landing NAV mode!

@kksnowbear@BitMaster ... Hi Guys. I just had a response from the tech guys at PC Specialist. This clears it up - "The case will fit up to 4 x 2.5" SSD's as it has 4 x SSD bays. Your motherboard will fit up to 5 x M.2 SSD's, you can install another 3 as two are taken up by the following: 1st M.2 SSD Drive 1TB SAMSUNG 980 PRO M.2, PCIe NVMe (up to 7000MB/R, 5000MB/W) 2nd M.2 SSD Drive 1TB SAMSUNG 980 PRO M.2, PCIe NVMe (up to 7000MB/R, 5000MB/W) If you want to install 2.5" SSD's then you will need to connect a SATA cable and a SATA power cable from the power supply. However, if you are installing an M.2 SSD then you can just connect these by slotting them into the motherboard."

Yep, sounds reasonable to me! Is the F-4 going to be delivered 'broken'?

I abandoned JSGME and found that OvGME is much easier to use so I have my altered lua files covered now. I expect JSGME works pretty much the same OvGME but I just seemed to click with OvGME. I set up two config files, one for the DCS Core and one for DCS Saved Games, I also have two MOD folders, one linked to each config file. Just to go down the belt and braces route, I also created a backup folders. If the MOD is a 'core' MOD I drop it in the DCS Core folder and activate it from there. If it's a Saved Games MOD you can probably guess where that goes. When they bring out an update for DCS I just have to disable the core mods and reactivate them following the update. You don't need two folders but it just saves having to remember which are the core mods and which are the saved games mods.

HA! In my box of 'junk' that comes with a new high end computer I found a ROG Hyper M.2 card!!!!! LOL Apparently it support for up to four PCIe® 3.0 M.2 drives with transfer bandwidth up to 128Gbps! According to ASUS at least. I think I just solved my own problem @kksnowbear ... Of course I do have the manual. The one I put in a safe place so I wouldn't lose it
-
@kksnowbear ... No, you may be right. It's just that PC Specialist, the guys who supplied the PC, said there were two. He may have meant there are two free slots after the two I have used but they never got back to confirm it. I was just looking at other options.

@MAXsenna - The cloning software I use is Macrium Reflex, I think it was recomended on Samsungs own How To video I watched. I had to clone my 500GB SSD to a new 1TB SSD on my work laptop so it was crutial it didn't fail. I bought an external enclosure on Ebay for the new SSD, plugged it into the USB and then cloned the old to the new using Macrium Reflex. Swapped out the PC SSD for the new one, fired it up and it just immediatly worked - everything exactly the same except loads more space! An aside to this, if you have the enclosure, the old SSD makes a blindingly fast external drive I've already got two 1TB SSD's on my computer but they just get filled up so quickly. I could swap one out for a 2 or 4TB SSD but I just wanted a dedicated drive just for DCS.

Hi Guys I have a ASUS® ROG MAXIMUS Z690 motherboard in my gaming PC and it has two SSD slots - both used. I want to add a third SSD dedicated to DSC, probably a 2TB SSD, I'm thinking a 2TB Samsung 990 PRO M.2 PCIe running on a PCI adapter card. Has anyone had experience of this? Does the PCI adapter slow down the SSD read/write time significantly? Would I notice it in DCS even if it did? Thanks Nial

@jonsky7 - That looks like the way to go. I'll work through the video you posted. I had a DCS crash yesterday and did a repair just in case, of course it over wrote my modified files I had saved copies so I just had to rename them. I use JSGME but I have never got my head around that! Maybe a subject for another day. @MAXsenna - Hi Maxsenna. Let us know how you get on.

I changed the position of the Viewport in the ViewportHandling.lua file (line 33). The filepath can be seen in the attached screen capture. I opened the kneeboard in the AJS-37, positioned it and sized it that suited me, and did a full screen capture. I opened it in my photo editing software and then used the rulers to determine the position (top left corner - 2865,100) and the width and height of th ekneeboard (765,1165). I saved th elua file, opened the Kneeboard in the Viggen and TADA!, exactly where I set it. I think it should open in th esame place on all planes but I really only ever use it in th eViggen anyway. I assume this will reset to default next time DCS is updated so I saved it as a backup in th esame file path. Easy to swap out when they update it again.

@jonsky7 ... I'll give it a go I'm just loking to see if I can move the position of the Kneeboard. At the momnet it is too far to the right, half way in th emain window and half way in th ecubesim window, so I have to click on it and drag it across to the main window. Once it's ther, it stays there for the flight. @MAXsenna ... I see you posted on the forum regarding moving th edefault position of th ekneeboard. Did anything come of that?

Okay, I changed my lua file as follows and it works fine now - other than the weird shape of the shape of the AJS-37 TV screen - I tested the AJS-37 and the Su-25T and both the Schkval and the TV screen are up and running. Also, the cursor now works in the mission editor BTW - the lua file with line "try_find_assigned_viewport("Shkval","LEFT_MFCD")" came from someone elses lua file that they were using.

@jonsky7 ... this is my Cubesim.lus file as provided by Garfiled at Cubesim (excluding the EP13 lines that I put in following your earlier message): This works fine with Su-25T Schkval. It works fine with the EP13 other than the cursor offset. I tried changing the X and y start point to x=100, Y=0 and also x=0, y=0 but I still got the offset. My Cubesit screen is set to be to th etop left of my main monitor as you can see from the code above. If my understanding is correct, changing the cubesim to the right would change the offsets to Centre = x=0, y=0 and the cubesim to x=3840, y=0 (Maybe offset it 80, so x=3920, y=0) Cheers Nial

@jonsky7 ... 4Thanks for that, it worked, but as you said the screen is an odd shape. I don't know what would cause thsat because if you get up close to the TV screen reticle it is a rectangular screen inside the reticle. I still have this weird thing going on in the Mission Editor whereby by cursor is offset from the object I'm trying to select so I can't actually click on anything. If I place an aircraft down in th eMission Editor I can see the offset as the plane is dropped in to the left of my cursor. I added the EP13 lines to my CUBESIM.lua file which I use for the Su-25T Schkval. I didn't have the cursor offset problem until I put the EP13 in. I also get the cursor offset issue when I use Helios profile for the EP13. @MAXsenna ... thanks for your help on this. I have removed everytihng that Helios added and I am going to have one more go, starting afresh again. I WILL get it to work using Helios

@MAXsenna ... LOL Yes, that was one of my files. The Schkval comes from the Su-27T and it is from the CUBESIM.lua file. It was a file someone had posted on another forum. I tried moving the TV to the main screen but something has totally screwed up now! When I run the additional viewports I get the message that I already ran it and a whole list of errors. I'v enow rolled it back to see if I am able to run it again on a completely new profile. In the meantime I'm going to try the init.lua files uploaded by @jonsky7 above. Watch this space!

Yes, the same as mine ... The only thing I noticed is that the viewport in Helios has the name field as AJS37 Viggen_TV without the underscore after AJS37 as above. The Text field in Helios has AJS37_Viggen_TV with the underscore. I'm not a coder either but I might just change line 21 above and remove the underscore. It'll either work or it won't

@MAXsenna - I was sent this link by the guys at Cubesim. It seems other people have been experiencing the TV not coming on in the second monitor, i.e. all they get is the black screen ... https://forum.dcs.world/topic/178769-radar-nav-export/ In the link there is a ZIP file with replacement init.lua files for the AJS-37 Viggen TV-Indicator and the Radar. In the init.lua file for the TV-Indicator it adds the lines: 21 dofile(LockOn_Options.common_script_path.."ViewportHandling.lua") 22 try_find_assigned_viewport("Shkval","LEFT_MFCD") Does that make any sense to you? Regards Nial AJS37.ZIP

@MAXsenna ... I moved the monitor just to try it and all I got was sort of a zoomed in version of where I was looking with my TrackIR Thanks for your time on this, I won't waste any more of it. It would be nice to get it to work but I'm not going to stress over it. BTW, with the small screen on the right it cured the mouse offset issue in the mission editor LOL

@MAXsenna ... Regarding the position of the monitors, I thought that was controlled by the lua file ... I bought my Cubesim screen specifically for the Schval in the Su-25T (which is on the right) when I first started in DCS and Garfileds instructions specifically said to set up th emonitors as follows, which is why my monitor is on the left3: Also, I watched a long video of a guy setting up an F-18 using Helios and he had both the MFD screens to the left of his main screen. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just asking why it would make a difference if the lue file positions what goes on which screen. I tried editing the lua file so that the Viggen TV started at x = 3840, y = 0 and the main screen set to x = 0, y = 0 but that didn't work either. I think I'll do what you said and move the small screen to the right hand side and recreate the Helios profile. Anyway, thanks for spending th etime on this, it's very much appreciated. Regards Nial

I just tried it again from scratch, I deleted the profile and the Helios.lua file. In DCS the side monitor goes black as expected but when I go into the mission editor I can't click on anything because there appears to be the offset I mentioned earlier. I manage to get a tooled up Viggen into the mission. When I arm the mavericks I get the TV illuminate but nothing on the second monitor.

Hi MAXsenna, Here is my set-up ... The interface status is all up to date and everything is green. I was watching some other install videos on YouTube and some had a line referring to Helios inserted in the export.lus file @ C:\Users\****\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Scripts, but other install videos didn't mention it. Is there something I need to do in th eexport.lua file? Many thanks Nial

I also noticed that when I went into the Mission Editor I can't click on anything with the mouse because there is now an offset. I can see the offset when I drop a new plane into the mission - it gets dumped in away from where th emouse cursor is. This makes me think that the monitor position for the MFD is not correct.

MAXsenna ... I've downloaded Helios, as you suggested, and I'v ehad a go at it. My thoughts that TV-indicator is th eviewport I needed seems to be correct except I can't actusly get it to work yet! I created a profile and managed to drop the required viewport onto the correct screen. I got a bit lost when it came to adding interfaces - I added my joystick and throttle and also the DCS AJS-37 interface but the screen doesn't populate when I go into DCS. Normally I can see my usual wallpaper on the screen but in DCS it now goes black so it is trying to do something. I am sure it's down to this interface thing. I'll keep at it but thanks for the info.

jonsky7 ... There isn't an EP-13 folder although I think it comes under the TV-indicator folder as far as I can tell. There are two sub-folders, Device and Indicator and neither has a display folder. I think I'll just carry on and squint at the screen! Thanks anyway. MAXsenna ... I tried a Google search for Helios and all I got was a million results with the word Helios in LOL
