I hope 1.2 does not turn out to be the new Duke Nukem 4ever or S.T.A.L.K.E.R :) When duke nukem was first announced, pentium MMX class processors were newly introduced, we were very young, there was janes combat sims, etc etc... Very old days:)
-
So, with all the fantastic stuff in the old flyables, and newly introduced Ka-50, when will we exactly be able to play 1.2? That is the question, to play or no not to play...
-
I am not interested in inversting in ED, as I donot have the money to invest in my own ideas:) I was just wondering the number of people playing LO... Obviously it is less then 1.000.000...
-
I guess until 2010, some virual reality stuff would already be released:)

I was wondering how many copies of lock-on and flaming cliffs were sold. I know that telling a specific number is not appropriate but at least, we can have the number as more then 1000, more then 10000, less then 1.000.000 etc... I would like to know this in order to see the sim market potential of lock-on and future sims from ED. I am really a great fan of lock-on and would like to see the successor of lock-on in the future. But if the sale numbers and overall potential of the sim market for combat sim is limited, then ED would not find it profitable to release future games... One more question: What is the most pessimistic release date of 1.2?

Even the graphic quality and realism (at least for su25t) of LOMAC beats MS Flight Simulator 2004 and all of its addons, LOMAC is not as popular as FS2004. Thousands of people play FS online but there are only a few in LOMAC. I guess, the successor of LOMAC should have to be as flexible as FS2004, that is to say, there should be flyable non-combat aircrafts, 3rd party city and terrain addons, etc. There is a civilian traffic option in LOMAC but we are not able to fly any of them. If there were flyable transport and airliner aircrafts in LOMAC like in FS2004, there would be more people playing LOMAC. With AFM of non-combat aircrafts, LOMAC should definitely beat FS2004 because of its advantage in graphics and immersive gameplay. Especially in online gaming, it would be a great pleasure to be part of a campaign with a transport aircarft. Some people will be fighting with fighters, some will go for SEAD and you will be transporting necessary stuff thru warzones, etc. Maybe, there should be search and rescue missions with rescue helicopters. (I remember that in Longbow2, you were able to insert combat seals, or go for recon missions).

Is this really flyable with all its avionics and fully functioning parts or just made for fun? Where can we find this mod?

For example, in the middle of a mission, I press escape and press save. The pulldown menu offers me a place to save the "Saved States File". I give a name to my saved states file and press OK. Then it says "The file couldnt save". I press OK, try it again and again and I have never been able to save during a mission. But when I check for the saved states file, I can see it in the folder, I choose to load it but this time it says "corrupt file" or something like that. Is there a solution for that? What am I doing wrong?

Problem with Pilot Log and Campaings
airea replied to airea's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
The pilot I have created is Turkish and I am flying su-25t... I understand now why it didnot work... Thank you for your reply. I should create a russian pilot then:) -
I created a pilot log and selected it as default. I am playing some missions but those mission stats or whatever are not listed in my log book. How can I solve this problem? I have one more question: In the campaing menu, I play a mission and pass to the next one. Next time I open the computer and reload the desired campaingn, I always had to play the campaign from the first mission. How can that be, how can I save my campaign?

Hey, what do you guys think about this terrain
airea replied to BOPrey's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Especially, with the release of 1.2 and KA-50, good resolution terrain would be of great importance, as it would be impossible to fly at 5.000 m ASL with the chopper. Lock-on has great aircraft addons but it should be the time for som different and more realistic and more lively terrain... -
Axis Curves/Trimming in Su-25T
airea replied to Iron Legionnaire's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
My wheel set also connected via USB port and as you did I can plug the wheel and use the pedals for the rudder. Thank you for the help... -
Axis Curves/Trimming in Su-25T
airea replied to Iron Legionnaire's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I am talking about su 25t.. Of course, the sensitivity of other aircrafts to trim is much more then 25t but even with 25t, I can be aware of the trim inputs. BTW, how did you configure your momo racing pedals? I have a MS Sidewinder Forcefeedvack Wheel with pedal set, can I use them as rudders as you did with momo? -
Axis Curves/Trimming in Su-25T
airea replied to Iron Legionnaire's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I have a MS Sidewinder Forcefeedback JS and even with small inputs, I can be aware of the trim and the aircraft really reacts to my trim inputs... -
Yes I guess so, because I do not know the price range in your country. I live in Turkey and you can buy amd 64 3000+ for 160 usd, a nice 64 board for 100 usd and 2*512 ram for 100 usd... And prices in Turkey are much higher than for example USA or Europe. 350 usd is enough money for a nice performance jump...
-
I do not think that a mobo upgrade of 133 to 400 worth 350 usd. I advice you to jump from 2100 to AMD 64 3000+ 939 (around 150 usd) and MSI K8 Neo2 (around 100 usd). You have a nice video card and with the processor upgrade, you will have a performance boost...

Thank you for the great work, sorry for forgetting your nick:)

There was a guy (sorry, I forgot his nick) who was making an Unofficial CD Cover fot the d/l version of Lomac and his thread was open a few days ago. Now, I cant find that thread. Is that work finished? Can we have that cover?

After playing su-25t with AFM, all other aircraft seem to be very easy to fly and I kinda lost the joy of flying them, especially su-27. Flying su-25t is a great joy and a real challenge. You have to really keep an eye on nearly all of the instruments, avionics, etc. Hope ED have time and initiative to give us AFM of other aircraft with successor of Lock-On... BTW, I have a problem with the joystick sensitivity. I have MS Sidewinder FF joystics and the joystick sensitivity is very nice for su-25t but all other aircraft seem to be acting very sensitively compared to 1.02. Is there a solution for that? Should I change the deadzone, etc adjustmenst everytime I change the aircraft?

Unofficial CD COVER for UNOFFICIAL ADDON ;)
airea replied to Witchking's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
This is one hell of a cd cover, I really liked it. I will be waiting for the final release. But, the Lock-On logo on the front cover could be replaced with the actual Lock-On logo of the Lock-On 1.0 cd cover. I mean, instead of a "Lock-On" solely made with capital letters, the logo could be replaced with the original one featuring some metalish style letters... -
Is there a new version of Lo-Man for Flaming Cliffs?

airea replied to Pilotasso's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I have paraglider manufactured by the company AIREA, which no lokger exists (I guess so). I like my wing, and use the company's name as my nick:) -

airea replied to S77th-GOYA's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I guess Duke Nukem Forever will be released before 1.1 :) 1.1 will be released when it is released....
