No problem d/l patch just four hours after it was released. Awesome new sounds, no change to FPS and a lot of great fixes. Cheers!

Took mine almost a month to get from TFC to Wisconsin but it's here and that's all I care about. Looks great, too.

El_Roto replied to 71st_Mastiff's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
This driver fully fixed my sleep problem with one of my 7" LCD screens; it works perfectly every time. Thanks for bringing this to our attention! -

Can you just add two or so waypoints to the existing FP or is creating a new FP required? -
Interesting. I was a civillian ATC for a while at an airport that had a very high volume of student traffic. I felt pretty irrelevant most of the time. ;)

I soooo want to go OT here....

VAC's been sitting unused since I quit flying Falcon AF. Dare I hope...?

Always wondered why that jammer never went active. :D

At a museum I worked at, I was spotting the tail of a MiG-15 being backed up to a section of fence. Someone came up and started talking to me. Of course, I completely forgot about my job and made conversation. At the last possible moment I remembered what I was supposed to be doing and halted the tug as the tail of the MiG was just inches from the fence. Another word and I would have been a) looking at a broke jet; and b) looking for another job. Can't remember what we were talking about, either.

You can use controllers other than a WH? Why? :D

Mimo 7" Monitor Won't Refresh in A-10C
El_Roto replied to El_Roto's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
It's Working Now Fixed it! After reloading this and unplugging that I found a solution: always have an active window on the screen of the LCD. I had been getting away from leaving TS3 on the LCD, with Task Manager on the left side, because of fears of frame rate issues - would the screens layer instead of replacing the former image thus causing the monitor to draw more? Unfounded, turns out. So I went back to leaving both screens loaded when launching A-10C and Voila!, problem solved. My guess is by keeping the screen active, I keep it from going to sleep and thereby not needing to be reset by unplugging/plugging the damn thing every time I try to load a mission. I got the idea for this after reading a DiplayLink forum where users complained of their LCDs not waking up after being in sleep mode. Now, I don't know why this only happened to the right Mimo and not the left one as they both were "empty" when the problem started, but I don't really care since it's working now. I may investigate further re: sleep mode but not now, I'm too busy having fun with the RC. Thanks for checking this out. Hopefully it will help someone else. -

Officially - Will A10 be Compatible with BS?
El_Roto replied to Lonecrow66's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I ordered the manual for FC2 even though I never fly it (I own it but with A-10C here...) because I collect flight manuals; I have the limited edition one from LOMAC to - I can't help myself. The real point is these purchases help increase cash flow to the developer. I know most of us will fling ourselves onto a printed copy of the A-10C manual :worthy: but an FC2 manual or a tactical map bought now can help out the pre-release version. Something to consider. P.S. If it turns out TFC gets all the money from these sales, sorry to have wasted your time. -
It works fine in the desktop environment but in A-10C it won't load new screens. It gets stuck when the loading screen appears and won't change. This happens in both Multiplayer and Single Player. The left LCD never has a problem. All I see is black. Sometimes the blue line at the bottom appears but it doesn't change at the next point. I'll try resetting the USB plugs but that doesn't always solve the problem. Actually, it can create more problems as it can cause the sim to freeze and only killing dcs.exe will get me out. Fun Fact: I can get most of the new screen to appear by moving the mouse cursor around, like an Etch-a-Sketch, but it's a still screen as before. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling, reinstalling the original drivers (after deleting the current ones), swapping USB ports...nothing. Any ideas? :helpsmilie: P.S. I changed the coordinates in the Multiplayer server screen options a while back to correct the spill-over glitch. This was well before the LCD problem occurred.

That happened to an SR-71 pilot - he didn't telll the Flight Surgeon he had been having intestinal problems and was cleared for flight - and he wound up "having an accident" about two hours into a twelve hour flight. He developed such a bad case of diaper rash that he couldn't sit for two days. [/hijack]

What headset you guys use ?
El_Roto replied to Succellus's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Same here, but mine are PC 155s (I just found the box). They are very light on the ears with excellent sound. The TrackIR clip fits snugly. It's USB/mini-jacks; the jacks plug into a USB adapter, allowing you to choose how you want to use them. The two sets of wires can be a nusiance now and again but I feel it's a fair trade-off considering the excellent speakers and microphone. I've used VAC with this set and it performed about as well as the software can be expected to, which is to say quite well. -
There are tanks in this sim? All I shoot are infantry and fuel trucks, and those fuel trucks burn real pretty, too! :P

The beta does have multiplayer, yes. You can play through a LAN connection, IP connection, or an internet Server List.
