Indeed, DCS is the only game I buy with intrusive DRM. If any alternative came up I'd ditch it and never look back.

This game really needs more fluff like this, it a great flightsim but everything around it is so empty and dull.

Yes, actually, this ranks over all the other problems this game has as it is today, and I don't see why it shouldn't. Over all the game works fine, there are a few bugs that I seldom notice when I am flying but this thing happens every mission every time you spawn in, it is actually with out a doubt the worst thing about the game. You are free to have your own pet pewee about this game but this is mine, and it's not a "few seconds of annoyance", it's a few seconds of annoyance for every time you spawn in, and a complete and utter lack of developer recognition on the forums about it since we have had it since beta.

I am pretty sure that the developers are trying to squeeze as much FPS out of this engine before the switch and the rivers where just not important enough to not get cut.

The map is exactly the same, just rendered in a different engine.

Land better. :P Seriously though, the tires will blow if you land too hard and the only way around it is to make sure that they stay intact is to be a little more careful during landings. I blew mine a couple of times landing the f15 but now I never do it no matter how awful my approach is.
