Because the FD does the exact opposite of what you are saying in this post. FD makes the aircraft unstable and difficult to fly. Unnecessarily so, and to reiterate, I don't care if you use FD or not, I do care when people tell other players especially new ones learning the game to use it. Giving them a much more difficult time playing the game.

As I said before learn how to use the autopilot and you will have a much better experience flying the aircraft. If anything the FD will try to kill you.

The open beta is probably the same as the internal testing branch for release. And you are not supposed to use the open beta for small releases such as this.

I'd say the sim is way way easier than what any "realism" would add to it. The spotting through trees argument is a joke, you are a helicopter, aren't exactly stealthy. But yeah, A10 is easier if you are more technically inclined and the ka50 is a bit harder to pilot. Take note that the ka50 is an extremely easy helicopter to fly and is a good intro to helis. Buy both is my suggestion.

Dunno what the keyboard shortcut is, but the switch is located on the front left panel marked with "HUD mode" and you can choose between day and night.

To be frank I didn't like any of them, at least the second one had a decent voice over (sorry wags), I am sure you can get a better one very cheap, just look around in the something awful voice talent thread, there are lots and lots of voice actors that do professional work. The script is awful though. "feel the power" really? At the very least put in that the game is free to play in there some where.

Falcon scales units so that they become slightly bigger at a distance. It basically means that you can see units when you should. e. Apparently the term is "smart scaling".

Check the SU and see if that works, if it doesn't try removing the A10 folder in mods/aircrafts (or something like that) in the root installation folder for the game, and check again.

DCS really needs unit scaling like Falcon does.

Anti-skid should definitely be on at all times. There is no reason to ever turn it off.

I've had degraded autopilot performance after getting hit. But non the less, completely forgetting that the flight director even exists is probably the best advice given in this thread. Do not use it.

TARS was super easy and quick to get to work, Aeries on the other hand didn't work and even crashed my game also doesn't have radio degradation. So if you ask me TARS all the way, what problems are you running into? Because it has always worked perfectly for me back when I used it a bunch.

This is really bad practice. If you like to fly like that it's fine, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, especially learning the game. It's a much better idea to actually learn how to use the autopilot, and you'll be much much more stable in flight.
