  1. AAAWWWWW YISSSS! Take my money!!!!! And those renders are beautiful!!!!! The question is... how many of us are going to be going to sleep humming danger zone?
  2. Not to toot my own horn... but Yes, yes it is a Tomcat.
  3. I thought the update was at 20:00 EST? It is currently 19:00EST
  4. I hope you considered the cost/lb too! There are so many fields that need it, especially after all these years of no cropdusters in the Black Sea region we will need a lot of it! ;)
  5. I agree. I don't need a carrier right away. It will allow me to have at least one landing that doesn't end in death while learning.
  6. Looking great man! I can't wait to get my hands on these!
  7. Are you talking about the Persian Gulf in the top part or the Black Sea? Cause comparatively, the Persian Gulf is a lake at 93,000 Sq. Mi whereas the Black sea is about 163,000 Sq. Mi. EDIT: Oh and I am only confused cause you mention going through the Straights as being dangerous. Carriers sometimes(most of the time?) go through the Suez Canal which is quite narrow...
  8. Maybe they can glue a CIWS on top of the dish lol
  9. Thanks for the info! On a side note do you think ED will incorporate DX11.3 as it is still in development or just 11.1? And will it be hard to come back and upgrade? At least according to AnandTech most newer graphics cards will be Dx12 compliant "In short, among AMD and NVIDIA their latest products are up and running in WDDM 2.0, but not on all of their earlier products" (AnandTech Article) although they do go on to say "While all of the above listed video cards will support the DirectX 12 low-level API, only the very newest video cards will support FL 12_0"
  10. Just like to point out the upgrade to Windows 10 is a free one for the first year after release. So that shouldn't be much of an issue. And apparently current cards will be able to support DX12 in some capacity. And I would love to see the interview, I'm really interested in this kind of stuff And since you are a pretty knowledgeable person about this stuff. Are draw calls a major issue in the current engine? I understand there is a language thing going on but your assumption is all kinds of wrong. And at the same time, why would it be important to you at all? Are you a major stockholder or employee of AMD or something?
  11. Yeah no problem man. Although you inspired me to make the GIF, as I began to make it the image became more for the whole community to see and be like, yeah that is for sure a Tomcat. (Probably) And I hope so too. My friend already wants to be my RIO so I'm really excited for that feature. At the same time, I wouldn't mind if it didn't release with multi-seat so then I can focus on learning to fly the Tomcat without a backseat driver ;)
  12. Looking great man! Definitely in for a Hornet Combo
  13. I made a GIF just for you!!! I was scrolling through NAVAIR 01-F14AAD-1 and when I got to page 78(of the PDF) the top image on the page stood out to me... So I cut the center picture of the Tomcat out and re-sized it to fit into the banner Leatherneck made. By re-size I mean I only shrunk it to fit, its proportions stayed the same. After rotating it 90 degrees CW I had to tilt it a little more to the right. And after animating in Photoshop I came up with this. NOTE: I did make it a little bigger so it was easily visible, the original banner was a bit too small.
  14. And I would presume the F-18C that we are getting would share some commonality with fighters still in the active fleet too... mainly cause it is in active service with several countries including the U.S. and some commonality with the active E/F/G Hornets.
  15. Right now I'm dreaming so hard I'm making diamonds... Or maybe I have another issue...
  16. So if plastic pouch is SFM I would assume your glass bottle was PFM. Meaning I had AFM Milk cause mine came in those paper carton things. I guess they didn't trust us 5-10 year olds to be able to handle the PFM, those elitists!
  17. It is my opinion that any aircraft you can think of should belong in DCS: World. And current map size may change in the future(albeit a distant one :P)
  18. Yeah, that and I can get some practice too. That way after an awesome mission with my buddy as my RIO, I don't embarrassing smack into the tail of the ship and I can keep up my Maverick persona :D In a somewhat related note, I really wish that someone would create a flight test mode similar to what Kinney Interactive was planning on doing. I think it would be really cool to get some training missions during beta and then move on to flight testing the Tomcat where we actually report our findings back to Leatherneck. Yeah I thought that was pretty cool. It was nice to see a different perspective too, being that we usually only hear from the pilots perspective.
  19. Yeah, that is what I am looking forward to. Already got a RIO lined up. At the same time, I wouldn't mind if the initial release didn't include that. I just want to fly the Tomcat around. If it is anything like the F Hornet, most of the communication between WSO(RIO in Tomcat) and Pilot is classified. Or at least the exact details But here is a pretty good article from FoxtrotAlpha detailing a RIO's experience in Top-Gun http://foxtrotalpha.jalopnik.com/what-it-was-like-being-a-topgun-instructor-while-they-f-1655347873
  20. Buuuuuurrrrrnnn! @Cobra, glad to hear that your hosting service is finally working on it! Maybe we should show them our mighty pitchforks
  21. While you make a fair point, I would think they are doing the all that they can to get the website back up. One of the Devs mentioned that they are having issues with their hosting service. And at the same time, why shouldn't we have fun trying to figure it out? It isn't our task as the community to worry about things like getting the website running. I think our task is to enjoy what we currently have and speculate(in a non-serious manner) that the future may entail.
