  1. and your lack of nostalgia is disturbing
  2. Like Cause I would take that. Otherwise I would do the Top Gun guitar theme:pilotfly:
  3. Hey Guys, This just popped up in my feed and has been pretty interesting so far. Video Description: "A historical perspective of the evolution of the Grumman F-14 Tomcat design presented by former Northrop Grumman VP Mike Ciminera. Produced by Betty Wheaton and Jarel Wheaton for Peninsula Seniors"
  4. Awesome! Thanks for the info Wags!
  5. Just got around to listening to this. Was great and I just got his book in the mail today, look forward to reading it.
  6. I think my first was Falcon on my dads TurboGrafx-16. The one I really remember was F-18 Korea.
  7. Yeah I am not very pro-kickstarter either. But I backed this one, call it wishful thinking :) As for Arma v. Squad, yes Arma is an amazing sandbox. But I don't think that is what they are aiming for. This seems to be more focused on tactical pvp. And on the brightside with squad it appears that there will be the added benefit of better framerate and decent shooting controls. Here's another video of pre-alpha. And since I backed the project I will update this thread with my impressions as someone who used to play a lot of Arma 2 ACE and Arma 3.
  8. Haven't seen anything about this on here, so I figured I would point you guys to Squad. Looks pretty cool, made by the same guys who made Project Reality. So if you are looking for a tactical shooter, try taking a look at this!
  9. So far my only issue with the physics is the way bodies fly when I am close to them and they die, kinda takes away from the immersion I'm using Galaxy, works pretty well.
  10. Yeah got it with my graphics card. It's amazing so far! Runs really well on my PC at 1440p. Had to turn of the hair effects thing to get a stable frame rate. (Not really a problem, unless fabulous hair is your thing) So far the story is really good even though I have never played a Witcher game before. The combat is pretty challenging, at least for me, but still fun.
  11. Kinda lame on my part, but I would love to see a Blackhawk. Always interested me for some reason.
  12. Jeez, what did they use an F-22 for reference? God fail. Seriously though, that's pretty cool. Now we need The Kite Blue Angels team to form.
  13. Oh wow, that sucks. Yeah I would wait in that case. I am sure other manufacturers will start pushing out things to compete. Seems 1440 is becoming the new 1080 so we may see more high refresh rate monitors with G-sync/freesync as well as lower prices. Oh and there is this coming soon as well. Acer XR341CK, a 21:9 3440x1440 IPS G-Sync monitor, kinda wish I held off and bought that... but $1200USD is a bit much for me lol
  14. I have the Acer XB270HU. It is pretty nice, haven't tried DCS with it yet though (Waiting on EDGE). I went from the ASUS PB278Q 1440p IPS monitor to the Acer, there is way less ghosting and no smearing, at least as far as I can tell. The G-Sync is cool I guess. Being able to run with no V-Sync and having literally no tearing at all is a nice feature. However, in the games that do run at 144Hz on my computer, I don't really feel any difference to my old 60Hz monitor... but when I play at 60Hz it feels choppy lol. If you have the money I say go for it! But otherwise, just wait. I am sure there will be better alternatives in the next few months/year EDIT: Guess I should say that there are a couple dead pixels on my Acer monitor. But they seem to have gone away so I don't see them. There is a little IPS backlight bleed but nothing major. Colors are nice and overall I would recommend this monitor to anyone that can afford to drop $800 on a monitor lol. I also run the TFT Central color calibrations, but have the brightness at 35.
  15. Tailhook... and manly landing gear
  16. I agree with you. I would love to have a log of all my flights with flight hours, A/C, kills, ect. all automatically saved to some sort of document. I think it would be cool to actually see all of my flight hours and what I did during those hours. Especially if everything tied into a single personal username so that flying multi and single would all link to the same stat tracker.
  17. Apparently the Dev kit will be available to select/qualified developers for free http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2015/03/valve-to-offer-htc-vive-developer-edition-for-free/
  18. Really sad, especially with no survivors. Really curious as to what happened here. Especially with the rapid decent to eventual crash, not sure what would cause that to happen.
  19. Aww yiss! That would make this module have 2x extra childhood nostalgia for me! This needs to be a skin! EDIT: Please!!!
  20. Amazing news as usual hegkcy. Can wait to get my hands on some of your gear!
  21. Yeah, and if anyone wants to test '"forget" to turn on pitot icing and fly up to 15k then dive. Your airspeed will indicate 50kias on the way down. Learned that the hard way more times than I care to admit. Windscreen icing would be nice though. Off topic; does the A-10C simulate any other icing issues? Like inlet or leading edge icing? Or is that something the A-10 just isnt as prone to for some reason.
  22. I personally think they should release a tiered system. Have the Tomcat as standalone where only people who own the module can join another pilot as a RIO at theat tier. The second tier would be an additional $10-15 added to the module allowing for anyone to join the pilot who owns the Tomcat+RIO package. I think this for two reasons. 1. It will cost time and money for the multiplayer RIO seat to be created, implemented, and tested. 2. Licensing issues like this will have to be solved in the end anyways as this will become a DCS:World feature anyways.
  23. Yeah, these forums are one of the few where you dont want to get into a pissing match without credible sources to back up your claim.
