  1. Me too. Although I have been hopping in the A-10 a couple hours a week to maintain muscle memory... And so I notice the difference. At the same time I have been waiting for the Hawk too.
  2. I voted yes. Really interested in the Airbus A330 MRTT that VEAO plans to release. It's less about the tanking for me and more about learning to fly a big plane like that in a simulator that works well with my computer.
  3. Figured you guys might find this to be interesting. Have been watching this for a couple weeks now. Quite fascinating if you are interested in learning about the inner workings of Jet Turbines. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCh57rwk3ySElDpzgCDLh9KA
  4. I think if you are planning to stay at 1080p then 3-4GB will be fine. But at 1440p(my current resolution) most 64-bit games will be really close to or reach the 3GB cap of my card. That being said, I can see games using more VRAM in the near-ish future since the new consoles(which seem to drive what quite a few developers do)have more ram to play with. That and over the next few years you will see nicer 4k monitors become much more affordable.
  5. Try googleing 'GTX980'. While rumors, seems very likely. Personally I would wait, they will be out soon so either pick up a 900 series or pick up a cheaper 780. Oh and I think it is a great card, although kind of sad they came out with a 6GB later. Would have got that instead because of my resolution.
  6. After reading the newsletter for the fourth time this makes me so excited for the future of DCS! Also, somewhat hoping the F-18 map will be Korea. It would serve two purposes(Sabre and Mig fights) and I could also relive my childhood and fight over Korea in F/A-18C again :) Thanks again for the wonderful update Eagle! Edit: Hate to ask, but could we get higher res versions of the two released Hornet pit pictures please? Would love to see that.
  7. Bought the tube of the medium stuff off if amazon. Will probably do it this weekend so I don't rush. Thanks for the insight!
  8. Has anyone tried the Molykote 44? It is the onaly grease referenced that I can find that is still for sale. Really want to fix the sticktion. Thanks for the help!
  9. I think you may be right! All hail the psychic!
  10. If I'm honest I love the new sound. If it is a bug then they should not fix it or make a option in the menu.
  11. That's pretty sweet. Maybe ED could contract a sim for them. And then we will see amazing weather in DCS!
  12. I haven't used multiple screens like that before, would have thought going wider would have a very noticeable impact. My only concern would be the fps. When I went from 1080p to 1440p I had a 20+ FPS drop on my 580 which is why I went to a 780. I still have minor trouble with fps in DCS with it though(45-55fps). And I thought you meant dual WQHD screens, which would be 2560x1440 per eye.
  13. Wouldn't you run into sync issues between the two different screens? Also dual 1440p would cause issues with framerate.
  14. The preliminary 1.2.9 changelog lists that it adds support for DK2.
  15. Oculus Rift SDK 0.4.0 is now available. https://developer.oculusvr.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=10887&p=143692
  16. It would be kinda interesting to see. But since this is DCS it would have to be really realistic. So I'm not sure how our 3rd generation aircraft would fare against a race that has interstellar travel.
  17. Yeah I am. Tired of the A-10 and don't really want any of the current aircraft. Prolly will get the Hawk though.
  18. I have, but not motivated to do so at the moment. Haven't really been flying, waiting for the Hornet. Really annoyed that I spent $500 on a HOTAS to have that problem when my $40 setup has no such issues after 4 years. And if I were to spend $400+ on pedals I would get the MFG Crosswind pedals.
  19. Not against this but I have to ask, what would thrustmaster bring that isn't already available? And going by my Warthog, i'm not sure I would want rudder pedals that get sticktion after 3 weeks of use.
  20. Personally yes. Would be great for just going on a leisurely flight.
  21. Or I could take a photo directly through the lens. The difference would be the optics. If I did what you are suggesting, it would look like any other OR youtube video. Taking a photo through the lens would be the best way to show what it looks like visually(actually slightly worse). That is if I can get my camera to focus. I have no idea how it will react(my camera) because this will be my first rift.(however not first exeperience since I have tried the HD prototype)
  22. Just to clear it up (in a few months lol) I will post my impresions of the DK2 in here and a picture through the lens in DCS when I get it. Will most likley be around the end of August because I pre-ordered it during E3. Could people who do not have a DK2 ordered post what you would like to hear/know about it please? That way I can specifically look for and post answers when I get it. Also i am sure someone ordered before I did could post impressions and answers before me. Edit: I will also post a picture through the hud of the SU-25 for reference to the other image already posted. (Through the lens of the Rift obviously)
