  1. Fix the Trains Please or ... 1. Super Carrier needs Stronger arresting cables now MT Trains can Fly 2. Fit landing hooks to Trains 3. New Super Carrier Deck crew need Heavy container supply drop safety training - Stennis Deck Crew had a stop work meeting and have now abandoned ship.
  2. Hi @NineLine I did report this on 12th Sept but that thread is now locked. Did you manage to get the programmer to have a look at the Trains Deactivation problem and the wheels animations arg 8 not working. As I am probebly the only one who uses and creates my own trains i get to see these things. I dont want trains to ruin Wags Christmas with a Photo Bomb during one of His Carrier Movies see the pictures and .trk and .miz Theres a few train spotters in the new carrier deck crew so at least their happy ! No problems Deactivating and arg 8 works fine in old ST version but they have never worked in MT Version. thanks Waterman DCS Trains over Carrier..miz dcs trains over carrier.trk
  3. Hi i have a similar related problem with user created Trains When they are Deactivated the Locomotive and wagons split up continue on the grass or go under the ground or out to sea off the coast in the air . They continue for ever like Zombies - i reported it about 3 months ago. Even the Destroy command in a script wont remove them. They are no longer alive or viewable on the F10 map. No problem in the old ST version but always done it in MT. The wheel rotations and animations sadly no longer work in MT . I expect something will be done when they Photo Bomb one of Wags Carrier Videoes one day ! dcs trains over water.trk Supercarrier deactivated trains.miz
  4. Good observations - I found same problems as you. Also if you create new groups they will rotate etc. Now if you save the mission they no longer can be rotated. Its almost like the rotate data is tempory in memory untill the mission is saved.
  5. Upcoming DCS Mission Editor Improvements at 7min 32sec info about the new Multi selection Tool - and maybe some more upgrades for it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5giFJhVN2aM
  6. I have done a couple of experiments. 1 - Units in missions already created will not use the new rotate function. 2 - Multi select copy and paste them but they will not rotate. Not a big problem as waypoints and individual vehicle directions need to be tweeked etc. 3 - If you create new units and increase unit count etc they will copy paste and rotate ok. 4 - When you save and reload the mission you cannot use the rotate on them again. 5 - Zones and Statics etc are not affected and rotate ok.
  7. Yes it works well ! Hey In the Mission Editor If you use the Multi Select tool and Box select some items including zones then click "Ctrl+c to copy them" Now load a different mission that even uses a different map eg - normandy. Now select the Multi Select Tool and place mouse where you want to paste and click "Ctrl+v" Note if you dont have the Multi Select Tool active then Zones are not pasted ! Copied items from one map to another just like a universal template. Have fun till you trip up on the next NEW BUG !
  8. Thankyou and well done. *** Hey In the Mission Editor If you use the Multi Select tool and Box select some items including zones then click "Ctrl+c to copy them" Now load a different mission that even uses a different map eg - normandy. Love how it shows selection and you can tweek selection etc. I have made some Animated Static railway signals that consist of 5 objects the signal post and 2 go arms and 2 stop arms that need to be lined up perfectly on top of each other a frustrating proceedure ! The new tool now makes this super easy - Just box select a perfectly positioned set of 5 - copy "Ctrl c" and place as many as needed paste "Ctrl v" Done ! Nice Job.
  9. I do actually agree with you just end the mission without the turn around. The mission is over anyway as you say. Was just a fun experiment i did but not very much use for actual real time mission use. cheers waterman
  10. Funny how users make excuses for ED . Its no big deal animating the turn around , it was maybe beyond what they can do for now or thats going to be the next big upgrade when they work it out. The DML Clone Declone Method i have been using for Railway Signals and to rotate locomotives on my turntables for over 2 years turns Aircraft around on the Carrier I just use a DML 36 Step 5 degree Sequencer and change the heading of each DML Clone Declone Cycle ! 11. Yes that is sound advice - the "so riot " comments from the user who loves to stir up anger is not helping the situation !
  12. I think they set the filter on "Auto Repeat" not "Auto Delete"
  13. This is getting more stupid each day. Have i got this right ? Users are being told the fix is to place hundreds or thousands of tanks to remove the spots / dots from the sky ?
  14. The simple Solution let users turn them off . If users are happy with the way they look then use them. Many users have spent a lot of money on vr setups. Many users just want to enjoy what they have purchased and fly around without getting too serious about it. They should decide whats best for themselves and what they want turned on or off. Not the few DCS rivet counters deciding for them.
  15. Yes that is the simple Solution let users turn them off . If users are happy with the way they look then use them. why is it so hard to impliment this simple request ? Just let them play the sim how they want to play the sim. If devs insist on finding the holy grail then let them do it in private . Its like DCS is dying before my eyes with all this rubbish going on month after month ! waterman
  16. Got it cfrag ! Settings - Misc - tick the F11 Free camera then the F7 / key zoom acts normally like it used to !
  17. Hi cfrag I noticed the same thing using the / key to zoom out on vehicles. If you press ctrl and / you can zoom out more but still limited cheers
  18. Well - I am impressed and feel a lot more confident now that the rest of the bugs and problems reported are being sorted out using this method
  19. "It's not just WWII although WWII shows it much more" - The WWll Steam Locomotive is a good example - it was working just fine in ST - I posted heaps and heaps of very detailed posts and .miz and .trk files warning about the problems - no one even downloaded any to test and the Locomotives and wagons now have no wheel rotations and valve gear is frozen and trains cannot even be deactivated as i warned. I have put in hundreds of hours developing the trains so i was angry. That little episode got my topic locked and a warning. Its hopeless as I have to use an old version of ST if i want to see them working as they should. I hope the Trains are being worked on by the Team thankyou. Waterman
  20. Another quick comment from me - when a module is left unfinished for a couple of years it is very hard for the original programmer to try and fix the faulty mess he created. Even worse maybe its a new programmer who has not seen the code before and that may explain why other code in other modules keeps being broken. I know first hand i have built many models and DCS is waiting for the slightest error. If i have a break for a few weeks from a model its very hard to pick up where i left off. Much better sleep at night knowing you have a nice neat working package. Just trying to give my friendly point of view as a programmer and DCS model creator. waterman
  21. Well done i just thought i would post a quick reply before its locked or deleted . A Good Honest Video. I would take note of what he says. The rest of the users "may" wake up soon and go on a new module hunger strike ! It must be hard for the DCS programmers having to leave projects broken and unfinished. Not much job satisfaction having to do that. Waterman
  22. This may be of use read DML Documetation - "DML" delicates.lua - the strength is adjustable - Making clones “delicate” or “brittle” You can assign a Delicate Zone to the cloner with the useDelicates attribute. If you do so, the named Delicate Zone is used to assign delicate status to all clones, making them explode when they receive a tiny amount of damage. See Delicates module for more info. delicates.lua
  23. The Traffic is a waste of time anyway its another totally dumb unfinished idea. I have built all my own road traffic and trains all low poly and with small texture sizes. I could not stand running stupid German Trains around London on Normandy Map sunk down to their axles any more. Hopefully they fix the Deactivation and the wheels and the steam locomotive animations they have broken. I am hopeful but it seams like the knowledge base is becoming diluted as simple fixes are not done. My road traffic stops at the level crossings for the trains to pass my level crossing gates open and close. My semaphore signals work in time with the Train arrivals departures. Passenger quantity varies on platforms to simulate arrival and departure. Water crane turns over the steam locomotives to simulate filling. All this is done by DML Sequencers that are easily adjusted no costly zone detection is needed. Maybe users need to do what i have done its not hard just make your own. But Dont expect anyone here to like what you have done all you will get is the Trains are broken they always have been. And other insulting gems like " Your Just Wasting Your Time Nobody is interested in the Trains they do not Read your Threads Anyway ! " waterman
  24. "WWll Al as been ruined" Hi my comment is on Topic and this has been reported i hope but worth noting if your working on WWll Stuff - Sadly 1. The WWll Class86 Steam Locomotive wheels do not rotate anymore. 2. The Valve Gear does not animate anymore. 3. You cannot Deactivate it now since last update. 4. Using WWll Normandy Map The Trains wheels are sunken down to axles in the track.
  25. Back in 1984 i programmed a Train Simulator on the Sinclair spectrum 48k of Ram Even back in 1984 My Train Wheels Rotated ! These 2024 DCS programmers could learn a few things from those guys about being efficient about memory usage and a few other things.
