  1. I think he meant 'TMS up, right?'. Damn those commas... :)
  2. First of all, welcome, second of all, get yourself access to the Beta forum, loads of help available there. Problem 1: Using the 6DOF of TrackIR, I tend to look down first, then shift my view left, before rotating slightly (if need be); I have adjusted x and y movement (as opposed to rotation) to be slightly more sensitive. Try that. Problem 2: Covered in Beta forum (where I believe this thread will be moved soon); you'll need to use the view zoom keys (physically moving forward with TrackIR won't work). Problem 3: Check in-game training and again, Beta forums. Also, Nevada isn't available yet (was removed in Beta 3). Hope that helps. Tone (also from UK).
  3. For future reference, you should refrain from called it a 'game' around here... :)
  4. It's very unlikely that tracks from one beta version will replay properly in another. However, I've had no problem with tracks saved and then viewed using the same build.
  5. Great story, brings back memories. I remember pre-ordering F29 Retaliator from Special Reserve (had forgotten about them, until you mentioned it); had to wait possibly the longest 9 weeks of my life for that to arrive (no Beta goodness back then!).
  6. The slowdown when using the cannon is a known issue. If you are willing to wait I would save up for the Intel Sandy Bridge, as mentioned by DarkEagle; although the Core I5/7s are dropping in price I wouldn't recommend going down that route, you're better off investing in the newer technology.
  7. If your current motherboard supports all 775 processors, have you thought about something like this? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-192-IN&groupid=701&catid=6&subcat= It seems silly to me to throw all that money at new m.board and processor, I'd save some for a complete upgrade later this year. I didn't think the Q6600 was that bad a processor though tbh. Is it worth waiting for Beta 5?
  8. Try looking in your DCS folder Sounds/Editor Music. Files are in Ogg Vorbis format.
  9. Careful with overclocking, especially if you're not sure what you're doing (not being patronising, just don't know how experienced you are). It's a bit like gambling, only bet what you can afford to lose... You blow your CPU and you'll end up having to get a whole new system anyway!
  10. Are you playing in 'game' mode or 'simulation'? And are you trying to map the slew commands as well as designate/lock target?
  11. A spiral bound copy of the Black Shark manual was eventually made available for 20 quid (about 32 dollars)...
  12. Oh man, I used to have F-19 on the Atari ST; great game! I loved the mission debriefing which would draw your route on the map, punctuated with little pictures at key points (take off, destroyed object, land...). Brilliant.
  13. JIMJAM, if you go into Options -> Controls and select A-10C Game from the drop-down, you can see a list of key commands used for Game mode. I think you need B for lock centre ground target, then N and M for previous and next. To select the right mfcd you need to press and hold the K key until a thin green box outlines the mfcd screen; then it's V to toggle zoom in and out (or Home and End if you're on the TGP screen). I don't think there's any quick way to select target view, other then F7, then keep pressing until you spot your target (in game mode it will be overlaid with a funny curved symbol, as well as the diamond symbol); pressing Left Ctrl + Page Up or Left Ctrl + Page Down changes the direction of the object selection.
  14. 'At present'... interesting. A future feature perhaps? Anyway, thanks for answering.
  15. Quick question. Is there any way to record (as a track) only a section of a mission/free flight? For instance, in IL-2 Sturmovik, you have the option to save a track at the end of a mission but you can also manually enable/disable recording in-game. This would be handy for reviewing bombing techniques or landings or whatever, without having to fast forward through an entire track; would also make movie making a hell of a lot easier!
  16. Perhaps I mean rate of descent then? Either way, I guess I'm juggling pitch and throttle without realising it; been flying sims for so long it must become second nature! :)
  17. And remember, as you're coming in to land, throttle controls your rate of descent, pitch (up/down) on the joystick controls your speed. It sounds a bit backwards, which is why it's important to remember! (I'm sure it's more complicated than that but that's roughly how it works).
  18. I think what Shu was getting at was that you have received a more polite response from combat sim fans, whereas he received agressive responses from non-combat sim fans. He was just pointing out the irony. :) I am new to this forum but before and since buying the Beta have read through many posts, and I must say I am impressed with the mature and helpful attitude of the whole community. I remember my Battlefield 2 forum days... never again.
