  1. I think I installed the same drivers as you: Saitek_X52Pro_Flight_Controller_7_0_27_13_x64_Drivers.exe Saitek Smart Technology 7.0.2.7 x64.exe These worked for me; not sure where to go for other versions. Have you gone into Windows "Devices and Printers" and checked the properties of the X52? You might have a button stuck down or something. Also, if your LCD screen isn't coming on when you plug the stick in, that might signal a dodgy cable; I've had my PC freeze before when this cable came loose and I plugged it back in whilst in-game.
  2. I ran into issues whenever I had Teamspeak running (not necessarily connected, just running) and my PC exhibited similar symptoms to yours. Had to go into Options - Hotkeys and change to "Keyboard & Mouse Only"; turns out my X52 Pro was conflicting with TS.
  3. Do you really think you're going to get through all of your remaining 9 activations!? That aside, maybe send an email to customer support, I'm sure they'll be only too happy to reimburse you an activation.
  4. Just before you end the discussion, can I show you this: This guy isn't stuck in the 1940's, yet he never leans fully out of the cockpit. Just saying. :)
  5. Surely people are allowed to say no and state their reasons, otherwise why even start a poll?
  6. Not that different. The basics of helicopter flight can be grasped through games such as Battlefield and Arma, and easily transferred to a sim such as BS. I know helicopter flight models in games like BF are "arcadey" at best, Arma tries a little harder in my opinion, but I don't understand this common attitude that these are "nothing like" what you find in BS. To answer the OP, as others have mentioned, check your axis assignments, as pushing forward on your stick should initiate forward movement.
  7. Cool. I think a recent update may have messed with comms bindings. Glad you got it sorted.
  8. So you have both comms buttons bound? Are you using Easy Comms mode?
  9. I use JSGME to do all this for me; might be worth looking into. Edit: Ebs has an excellent guide here, for all you ever wanted to know about JSGME but were afraid to ask. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=98607&highlight=jsgme
  10. In Windows7 all of my saved stuff goes here: C:\Users\{username}\Saved Games Steam may well use the same directory you know; would surprise me if it didn't.
  11. Have you set your resolution to 1920x1080? I'm guessing your large screen TV is 1080p, so you need to match that or the image will look fuzzy. Or is it just the Shkval that is blurry?
  12. Great work! Looks super-cool!
  13. 186 miles by 186 miles..?
  14. This saved me a lot of swearing. Won't let me +1 you again but thanks.
  15. 16. Glad you got yourself sorted. I was quite surprised with the performance increase I got, considering how DCS is more processor heavy.
  17. Ha, that's exactly what I found too! Cracked me up.
  18. Agree. Let's not get personal :)
  19. I share your concerns, what with this and the whole change in pledge rewards mess. I'm still wondering what I'll get for my money, considering how much will be available for free; maybe the satisfaction of backing a project isn't enough any more.
  20. I think the 760 range is particularly good bang for buck, even compared to ATI. Don't forget to clear your computer of everything ATI (drivers, ccc, registry) before installing anything nVidia!
  21. Have you bound any keys to a joystick slider?
  22. I recently had this decision to make and ended up going from HD 6870 to the 760 GTX; I did a lot of research and it seemed the better option (and I've almost always gone for ATI in the past!). Can't give you figures as away from home until the weekend but you will not be disappointed.
  23. Hi Reaper! Sure, reckon I'll be interested, been thinking about joining a squad for a while now, may as well be a new one :-) Will pm you when I get back from hols next weekend.
  24. No one round here seems to like sales, so... :-)
  25. Exactly this. I don't see what everyones problem is. If you were happy to pay full price at the time then what's your problem with others now getting it cheaper? You want them to pay more? You wish you'd waited? How long? For what price? Maybe in twenty years it'll be free... Seriously, chill out.
