  1. Here is a couple of links from Microsoft's forum for Win11 23H2 Windows 11 23H2
  2. That video does nothing, that was a waist of my time. Find a video that sets up the G2 in VR and follow it.
  3. What he said, take the headset off. Use your keyboard. Use windows key+shift+s to capture any portion of your screen, including video. I'll look at your video link to see what's up with it.
  4. That adds up to 48? Pull the 32, make sure the 8's are in slots 1,3 or 2,4 and try it again. Your buying a motherboard anyway and running odd unmatched dimms. The results will not be good on any upgrade with unmatched, odd count sticks. You could look for a deal on a 10900 or 10700, they'll out perform your lower end i5 and save you some cash. Then get a matching set of ram. People usually buy them in pairs for a good reason. Though my system is CPU bound with a 10900k, I'm not getting stuttering but do play on low settings. AM5 is still the best option, but you'll sacrifice your unmatched dimms anyway but have a much better upgrade patch. Black Friday may have some deals with combos of board/CPU/memory.
  5. If you go with PCVR2 you will get mediocre results in DCS but you will be able to use GT7 on the PlayStation. You will need to decide for yourself which is more important. There are of course multiple racing games in VR on a PC as well as a host of other games both PC and Meta standalone.
  6. To make the G2 comfortable for me I bought a fairly inexpensive strap, but for the Q3 I went with a BoboVR S3 Pro ($80) and an AMVR Face cover ($35) and then I am using Virtual Desktop ($20), and needed a dedicated 6e router TP-Link AXE5400 ($180) - though you can go much cheaper for a 6e router, especially if you already have a good setup. I also added a BoboVR battery dock ($40) and 2 more batteries($80), so I never run out of power. This kind of puts you in the price range of a Pimax Crystal Light which I don't have but I may jump to soon. It needs better audio too and a comfortable head strap upgrade. While the resolution of the sweet spot of the G2 is much better, it is also the size of a straw, so you will notice immediately how much better the Quest 3 is because it is the entire screen. The colors are not as good, the headset is not as comfortable but adjustments with aftermarket products are widely available. I also use my Q3 for other games and like that I am not tied to my PC. My G2 is sitting in a box for a good reason.
  7. So, in the above statement you mean on your computers monitor? VR is MUCH more demanding in DCS and MSFS. I really don't think the K6000 is up to the minimum specks of DCS and you never answered which CPU you have. UserBenchmark: Nvidia GTX 1080-Ti vs Quadro K6000 UserBenchmark: Nvidia Quadro K6000 vs RTX 3060-Ti
  8. How do you get 40GB DDR4? If running odd number of sticks, pull the extra non-matching stick out. Does the issue resolve itself if you lower the settings, for example using the VR preset? You may want to wait for the 9800x3D to be fully in stock and then pick up a 7800x3D which is also AM5 and allows you an upgrade path or at a minimum brings down the cost of a 5800x3D
  9. When you say it runs fine in DCS, do you mean VR or 2D?
  10. I don't know about this; I looked up its gaming specs and they seem to be very low. Nvidia does recommend the Quadro RTX6000 but its gaming abilities are significantly better than the K6000. Follow this, get Steam out of the way as its just one more layer to deal with. Use Open XR tools for WMR from the Microsoft store. Set DCS to the minimum's by selecting the VR preset. What's your CPU?
  11. The Quest 3 is 1.3 PD at 72Hz with slider to the far right. Virtual Desktop, a WiFi only way to run without using the Meta app. Personally, I would ditch Steam and run DCS natively. You can move any mod licenses one way though to ED.
  12. Did you follow this? You need to pick one of these methods to make sure your running your G2 as an OpenXR device. I recommend the "OpenXR Tools for Windows Mixed Reality" which you get from the Microsoft store. Also as @sleighzysaid, update DCS, do this from 2D, starting DCS should present the new launcher and have a link right below the 2D/VR selector.
  13. For troubleshooting, use the VR preset. Save your current settings to one of the 3 custom spots so you can come back. The Rift S has much less resolution, so your pushing more pixels. Set your refresh rate to 72hz too. My GPU is a step up from yours but my CPU is several steps below yours. I however use VD and find it to work better than Meta and the USB cable or WiFi link. I've had to lower my settings as compared to the G2 I had. I really think DP connections are best and my next HMD will have one.
  14. Also, be aware that Windows 11 WMR support is going away. You will need to not update to 24H2 to keep using it. Eventually it will also be dropped from the store.
  15. It's been awhile since I used my G2, but I believe you have to use WMR and open a monitor within the Microsoft House and select DCS on the monitor. Also, if your using the Steam version of DCS, then Steam needs to be run too. There may also be command line additions to run DCS in WMR and Steam as DCS natively runs OpenXR.
  16. As stated above, the setting are in my screen grab above.
  17. I use a Razer Tartarus Pro on my kneeboard leg and you could look at Voice Attack.

    Question

You mean the Guardian in Meta Quest? Make it room sized, custom and make it as big as you can, the entire room, right through furniture too.
  19. I don't use my hat switch or any switch, mine activates upon my looking far enough left, right or up.
  20. @slughead any information on this, might help others to know too as I'm considering a Pimax myself.
  21. Yes but there are headset accessories that improve comfort, balance and have rechargeable battery packs. I use a BoboVR S3 Pro halo type headgear that uses rechargeable batteries. It's very comfortable and let's me play for as long as I want at DCS or other games.
  22. Your OS (SO?) is listed as Win 64bit. If Win11, beware of the 24H2 update that will stop using WMR. Either use Win10 or stop updates to keep using th G2.
  23. I followed the instructions from MFG to do the dead zone in the MFG configurator though DCS is easier to understand, and I am not sure why he says to use his software vs DCS. My settings work well now.
  24. It was not hard to do, it was annoying, and the parts are fragile. Eventually, I had to do this after trying older versions that still required me to disassemble the stick. While working on this, I was reminded that as I dismantled the CHEAP barrel connector with very fragile pins, with wires stretched to their limit through the extension, if it were to break, I would receive no assistance from Win Wing as support from them is roughly translated to - "too bad, so sad". My Orion 2 throttle detent cracked under normal use, the first reply from CS: I seriously doubt they had "hundreds and thousands of violent tests". Anyone can look at the idle detent and see that it is a poorly designed with just a small bit of plastic at the screw/nut connection. And what would it cost to replace the wire as you would probably have to buy the extension again at $53 plus $30 or so for shipping and wait 3 weeks for it to arrive. If they made this a high-quality connection, there would really be no issue, but they did not.
  25. TL;DR, well I did but many will not. Getting to the point is a best practice on any forum. For VR, in Meta Link push the slider to the right at 72hz. That is a PPD of 1.3. Set DCS to the preset of VR and then start adjusting upwards your settings. Changing map views and issues with VR are an indicator of using too much VRAM but also many are complaining of it occurring more now after the last update. I had this a lot going from F10 to F1. I lowered my settings drastically to overcome it. I also use VD over a 6e Wi-Fi as that helped with many Meta issues because their software is crap. If you're going to use it, learn about some tools, Oculus Desktop Tool(ODT) and Oculus Tray Tool(OTT). They do a lot of the same things, are not reliable and the prime reason I use Virtual Desktop. Also check out QuadViews for fix foviated rendering. That too was TL;DR Oh, put your specs in your signature and you'll never have to repeat them again.
