  1. Also, remember that Windows is deprecating the WMR environment, so do not install or upgrade to Win 11 24H2 which is in the Release Preview Channel. Use Win 10 and you'll be fine until Oct 2025 when support ends or Win 11 with security updates only. In either case, those deadlines mean you'll be on an unpatched Windows. You will still be able to download WMR and the Steam software until Nov 2026. Definitely hold out for the super, or better yet a 4090. DCS and VR do need a supercomputer - or as close as we can get. And I agree with the 7800x3D recommended but consider that the new AMD processors are about to hit and that may help you get either a better price or a better CPU.
  2. Do you notice a problem or are you looking for a solution to the in-game overlay's framerate? If you are having display issues, what are your Meta Link settings? I would suggest you set it for 72Hz and try again. In the Meta Link settings, set it for 72Hz and move the resolution all the way to the right which gives you a PD of 1.3. Then in DCS use a PD of 1.0. Meta Link software automatically applies ASW, so your 90fps could actually be 45fps or bouncing back and forth like a ping pong ball. To get it to turn off, you have to use ODT(Oculus Debug Tool) C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-diagnostics The tool must be left open to be successful, if it will be successful as it often turns it back on for me. There are other settings in there in case you want to try a higher PD, use this and not DCS. You can change the bit rate up to 960 by typing 960 into a text document and cutting and pasting it in, otherwise it won't accept it. The other tool you maybe interested in trying is QuadViews which will allow you to use a fixed foviated rendering which allows the outer resolution to be decreased increasing resolution for the center. They may or may not still be having issues, I think there is a workaround but the latest Meta update caused issues. Also there is another tool called OpenXR Tool Kit which also has a version of foviated rendering, though the tool is no longer supported and may also be having the same issue with the Meta update. It's best use for me is the Overlay which is more reliable than DCS. I personally moved over to VD(Virtual Desktop) with a dedicated 6e router. My system is far less capable than yours, but it looks really nice and I don't have to worry about the next Meta update. The other strategy is to lower all your settings and then raise them one at a time starting with the ones important to you. You could also try DLSS and DLAA.
  3. I saw this a few days ago and I have been looking for information on the MR Cover. Will it include hand tracking?
  4. I found this on their Discord and I filled out their interest form telling them hand tracking is a must for DCS and the Slugmouse.
  5. I'm interested in getting a Pimax, either the Super or the Light but not having any hand tracking is a big downside. I have seen them discuss a MR plate in the works, I just don't know for which devices, and I am just assuming they would include hand tracking with it. Their other hand tracking products seem to be on backorder.
  6. @slughead, I wanted to ask when I saw this post but forgot. Does S,M,L refer to length or thickness? How are they attached to the body?
  7. 1. Did this just start? 2. What are your current DCS settings? Screen grab and post. 3. What are your Meta Link settings? 4. Meta Link software version? 5. Do you use any OpenXR tools? The recent Meta update created issues with some. 6. Use the VR preset in DCS and try again, any changes? 7. Are you using MT or ST for DCS? 8. Use Process Lasso to see what's running and to dedicate some cores to DCS only.
  8. Exactly, HP has already discontinued the Reverb anyway but if they hadn't, they would have to create a new solution to keep their products working and selling.
  9. Another advantage to slugmouse is that there is no USB cable to power it. So just put them on and startup HTCC. I am planning an upgrade to Pimax and currently their solution for hand tracking is unavailable and certainly not built in like Meta. Another thing to think about is how Meta keeps breaking OpenXR tools we use like HTCC. I'm good with Virtual Desktop so hopefully that shouldn't be an issue. Though I don't really like relying on a 3rd part app.
  10. I don't know which is better, but one is available now and the other in 18 to 24 months. I have been on the PointCtrl list since Feb 2023 and I am anticipating Christmas or so. I am using the Slugmouse daily and really like using them and really can't imagine not using them now in VR. I initially had issues with them breaking at the ring and I have fixed them with epoxy. The new design looks like it has taken care of that issue. The Slugmouse does have easy to use controls with 5 ways on each one though not customizable. The PointCtrl only has 3 on each finger but you can opt in for the larger package with 6 more to mount on your helmet. The Slugmouse is limited to HMD's with hand recognition, while the PointCtrl has its own built in. If your not on the list for PointCtrl, go ahead and do it as it costs nothing. You can see on his Discord what orders he is shipping. Then order the Slugmouse to keep you happy for 18-24 months and if you like the Slugmouse enough, you can just cancel the PointCtrl.
  11. That's an antenna and WiFi add on card. Ideally, you'll connect your existing router to a new router then your PC via ethernet cable to the new router. The only WiFi connection is from your HMD to the new router. The performance of connecting your PC with WiFi would be horrible, I did try that ao I know.
  12. More information please, did you just get the Meta update? PC specs, how do you connect, i.e.: Virtual Desktop, Meta Link with cable or Wifi? Are you running any OpenXR tools. Sure sounds like something else is running too, have you checked taskmanager?
  13. If you're going to buy a new WiFi router, make it 6e. I am using the topography that @Flyingfish posted in the first picture. I have shut everything down in that router except for the 6e, put it on channel 48 and width on 160Mhz. Only my PC and Quest 3 connect to it. It sits above and in front of me about 3ft away and I have zero connection issues. I use a TP-Link AXE5400 Tri-Band WiFi 6E Router (Archer AXE75) which is a bit pricy but not over the top.
  14. Meta. If you're using any tools that are in the OpenXR layer, you may want to look at those.
  15. I'm a little late on this, but just incase you didn't figure this out, look to page #11 and #26. Comms, Speed Brake, Dispense and cage/uncage are the 4 and it looks like there is no Dispense on the page 10 drawing.
  16. So that video is the first time I have heard of the Pimax MR front plate. Have they said anything about hand tracking with it? I'm starting to think that the Super may need a 5090 because of the 50 ppd, that may cause me to change my mind and get a Light.
  17. I wish they had more information on the 12k, some specs about the panels and lenses. It looks like it will be about as heavy as the Crystal since it has batteries too. I like that it has hand tracking and pass through which I wish were going to be on the Super. At 50ppd, the Super is already going to being needing a top tier PC.
  18. That was my original plan, to upgrade the GPU. It's an interesting concept that you upgrade the GPU and become GPU bound where as you would think that would make you even more CPU when your showing CPU bound. I've heard the in-game DCS monitor isn't trusted. I think the best way is going to have to be observing my own CPU use vs GPU use. Ultimately, I'm upgrading both anyway and since AMD is bring out new processors, soon I may get a really good deal on this generation or if justified in the reviews go for a 9000x3d when they come out. The 7800x3D is really proven right now though. Which your your HMD's are you using for DCS?
  19. My confusion is from a lack of sleep and coffee. I am 7.5 miles or 6.5NM in front of the Park Fire in California. Our property has been evacuated but I am already in Seattle waiting for a lung transplant. I sleep from 2am to 7am to monitor the fire all day and night and stress 24/7 between it and my lungs. I get some relief from browsing DCS stuff but I haven't really played since the fire started. So I really have no idea if this or that is fixed or what is or will be broken, I'm just trying to engage in other things in between scouring the internet for the Park Fire.
  20. I had already edited my post, what I mean is either ED or Meta:
  21. Yep, I did mix up the two players that are causing OXR tools to have issues, just another reason to go with VD. PTC v68 is on Meta and may or may not break several tools in the final version, and QuadViews is currently broken from ED but has a dll fix that @mbucchia would prefer we don't use but rather complain to ED. I'm happy with VD and getting rid of all the headaches of OpenXR compliance. Is the reason VDxR not an issue because VD dev's patch it to circumvent what ED does to OXR? I just re-read this, so even if ED or Meta breaks OXR it won't matter in regard to HTCC?
  22. For HTCC, your referring to while using VDxR, because earlier in this thread @mbucchia said v68 could break it and other OXR tools. I think this is due to ED mishandling OXR and so VD should be safe with VDxR?
  23. It should be pinned.
  24. @slughead What's are your PC specs again? Are you using the Quest Pro too? With a i9-10900k I am CPU bound and if I try and run QVFR I get lots stuttering with my CPU tanked. I stopped trying to us OXRTK or for that matter any of the tools as DCS and Meta are in a competition to see who can break them the fastest and most. With HTCC being OXR reliant is also a little worrying too, so I hope that keeps working in VD. One quirk with HTCC and VD though is the Dev said to disable hand tracking in VD otherwise it might cause strange issues. But for me, it won't work at all unless I enable hand tracking.
