Agreed! I look for Chizh, Wags and Nineline for updates. At least they're shooting for tomorrow and it looks like it's day to day so to me it's easier to digest the timing. Still though, if it doesn't make it life goes on and I tell myself enjoy what we have already!

I really am happy for those that own VR sets in DCSW. I am looking forward to that day WHEN I make my purchase for one. It does seem like a huge game changer.

Pardon my ignorance, but what will be the significance of going from 2.5.4 to 2.5.5? I know there will be a new plane and VR improvements thus far, but I am not aware of what we could expect for tomorrows release.

I couldn't agree more! The updates to include sensors and weapons have been a joy as they come in. Almost like a stepping stone in learning.

I can respect the decision. We only have a couple more days before it drops and things are busy on my end to where I have not been able to play over the weekend anyways and summertime activities with family and friends. This week should be better for time to get back into DCS. :)

I am looking forward to the update video over the weekend from Matt. I do have a thought about the systems and armament for the F-18 module. Where are we as far as completion of the systems? What remains to be done? other than A2G radar and HARPOON missile? Can Matt or anyone update on the F-18 road map?

This is very true. For some reason I keep ignoring the fact we have 2 versions out there. Each with it's own purpose. With times like these, unless I am missing something, is good for this particular purpose. Test for the unknown with knowing there are some things still in WIP. If the OB was to come incomplete I could accept the disabled module. Another week wont bother me either. I have a working F-18 that I am still enjoying! :)

If it's a very popular module like the F-14 I can see it causing a lot of heartburn to those wanting to fly online with others in the new branch. Also some of the maps becoming unplayable because the module is no longer compatible.

First I heard a 3rd party causing a snag in the release process...Wowzer!

The 3rd party teams seem to be pretty responsive based on past releases and turnaround times between each update. I have confidence in them. If they, for some reason, miss it wont be the end of the world.

As far as this OB update goes it seems the latest F-18 features to come are ready to be released. The "bottleneck" is on the 3rd party teams.

So many good point to the benefits of pre-purchase made here. I will be putting my order in this evening when I get home. The DCS series has been a dream come true for me and like so many here I have a lot invested in it over the years with no regrets.

I believe it's a matter of time before we see one of the 3rd party developers take this on. There may be a team that has this in the works already, but will need to flush out the some detail in order to get awarded a license from ED to make a full blown project. The topic has been raised before in some other threads if you do a search for the F-111.
