We have seen some unexpected things come in these releases. There are no set rules on when/how ED will introduce features. it's anyone's guess. :)

Parxuk, I apologize for not being able to give the version number. I had an update pushed to me last night, assuming it has to be a very recent update. I will try to follow up this evening after my work day. :) EDIT: Software was updated to 1.39 for sure, not sure it there was a firmware update. It is at 1.8 currently.

I will not take anything away from those that work in education, but I did say company. An organization of staff developing for profit.

I would like to know what holiday takes an entire month away from development and a company that observes it? I need a job change!! ;) :D I do have the impression that staff are taking vacation at staggered times to keep some development going to a minimum. Slow times for a month at the most IMHO. I imagine it's possible. It's anyone's guess of the ED game plan. I have seen 3 OB patches released in series before a public version. I would love to be a fly on the wall, at ED, during these times.

Firmware updates just released seemed to improve performance quite a bit within DCS. A lot more testing to do still but great joy with the Rift S in week 3.

It's been a long journey getting this plane in DCS, so I am grateful for the developers accomplishments. The VR experience for the F-18 is on another level that there not enough words to describe. I still can't believe what we are getting out of DCS as whole. It is a simulator like no other right now!

I am so glad I took the VR dive and did it with the Rift S. I was initially going to go all in with the Vive Pro, but it was hard to justify the pricing. This purchase has been one of the best to enhance my DCS experience. It seems for the most part that everyone, in this thread, seems to be overall satisfied with their purchase as well.

New Rift S owner since Friday and I really love it! I have seen the white flash occasionally myself also a jittery effect after some time flying, but not a deal breaker at all! The VR move is the best thing that happened to DCS as far as I can see at the moment. I am at work as I type this and soooo ready to leave and get back home for more fun. The simple mission of the cold start and take off in the F-18 @ Persian Gulf will make your jaw drop! I love my purchase!

These things do happen unfortunately. This is minor compared to what the expectations were for the NTTR map several years ago. Instead of weeks of delay we saw 2 years at least IIRC.

Trigger pulled! It seems to be getting the best ratings for performance and pricing combined. Newegg was sold out so I went the Best Buy route with free shipping and a expected arrival day of this Friday. I'm so weak!!
