  1. Hi. I recently got my Pimax Crystal Light. As I researched settings, I came to understand that using Quad Views was generally recommended, so I have that enabled in the PimaxXr tool. I also understood, and followed the directions to go back to "default" settings in OpenXR toolkit. Stuff is generally working fine in DCS. Just wondering if there are some settings in OpenXR (accessed while in game) that I should or cannot use? For example, is it recommended to use CAS for sharpening and/or the fixed foveated rendering? for reference, I have 14900 and 4090 with 64gb RAM. Thanks.
  2. I have both, but have studied and learned F16. Started to learn F18. Viper is easier. Switches / buttons / avionics / weapons: the process for getting ready to shoot a missile or drop a bomb requires fewer steps in most cases. So, fewer steps with buttons / switchology that are less spread out equals easier to me. I'm sure that once I 'learn more' about managing the Hornet, I will like it too.
  3. mine is definitely slower since I got the F4 phantom...
  4. @Ala12Rv-Tundra Would you please consider describing your setup with hardware and software that allows you to run multiple shakers, perhaps with different effects assigned? For the life of me, I have not been able to get multiple shakers to work. Thank you!! I have a buttkicker under my seat, and 2 more dayton pucks up on the pedal deck.
  5. Great to see this. The video by BluGames is helpful to see the size of the unit and bottom plate for mounting. But, he didn't really understand what planes to try to really experience FFB in a plane. That's ok... hoping to get some more videos this week. As a converted Race Sim guy to Flight Sim guy... I've been really hoping for something like this... so, pretty excited.
  6. wow, was literally just thinking about KOLA and wondering about an update... good to see. Thx.
  7. How to do this? Could you provide an example please? I love this Phantom, but I just cannot seem to get this style of bombing to work. Appreciate your help.
  8. I too have the Reverb G2. First vr headset for me - I think it's great. But, i upgraded my system since I became a VR convert and started looking for my NEXT vr headset. I also decided on Pimax Crystal Light (w/ local dimming; no controllers). Videos are starting to slowly come out with early experiences. Looks/seems like the best option so far. Looking forward to receiving mine hopefully within 30 days...
  9. oh cool, a Crystal Light in the wild spotting. Congrats on getting one of the early deliveries. I think I'm in the late June/early July slot. TallyMouse video is good to have and glad to hear you found it worked. Can't wait!
  10. Still could use more help info on this... like, 'consider using these in this situation, with these parameters set'. Appreciate the help.
  11. uh, you just did, right? My $.02 - - it's worth it, to me. I bought on pre-order to save a few bucks; knew it wouldn't be perfect and that more development is coming. Fly-ability, systems, features, detail, new stuff... all this adds up to a worthy purchase either at the price I paid, or the price it is now. I think "early access" is a worthless topic because there are so many possible definitions. Buy early because you're excited and really want to get going with whatever is made available. Or don't, and wait until satisfied with reviews and feedback. So, is the Phantom priced ok?.... Everyone can decide for themselves by purchasing or not, now or later, or never. This is not a productivity tool, it's a hobby and form of entertainment. Sometimes we buy a thing and we love it. Sometimes we buy a thing and it's just not as good as we wanted (or possibly not as good as was promised). Oh well, time to move on.
  12. Pretty sure you can start air, then click switch to on. Did that today in VR. But, I too noticed the no cockpit interaction with jester wheel up, and felt that is not ideal.
  13. Was specifically noted at 1500 GMT in previous newsletter. I've made a calendar reminder for myself so I can multi-task during a work mtg....
  14. Worth it. I love this hobby!
  15. Love the idea of possible mp/coop. Good luck with the development.
  16. Maybe I'm the only one, but I have not found a use for the WinWing Orion 2 Slider or Dial levers. With the upcoming F4 Phantom and the Jester wheel comms interface, I wonder if one of those levers/axes could be bound do a CW / CCW action to go around the Jester comms wheel. Thoughts? I'm already starting to think about which buttons, hats, dials to bind for the various Phantom cockpit needs. Surely I'm not the only one.
  17. Even the hair on the virtual pilot's arm was standing up (it's shown so clearly in this trailer) because he's so excited for this release!
  18. Can I assume there is a fixed fr option with quad views? And, is it generally better than the foveated render option in Open XR? Thx And yes, pretty sure crystal light is mu next headset.
  19. I think I found a combo of settings that work... and I believe the key was to shift to 90% resolution in the OpenXR tool for WMR. Now, I can run at 90hz, keep very high settings in-game, and so far maintaining 90fps. Did some MP, and will test more, but so far so good!! VR is the best!
  20. I can strongly suggest looking up Tactical DCS on discord. That group/community has been the most welcoming and easy to connect with. They do scheduled group online flying that is low pressure on Tuesdays and Thursdays, plus stuff on weekends. Let me know if I can help get you connected. Keith / Lefty
  21. I'm guessing main part/reason for the ask is to have more toys to play with, not the need for extra simplicity. And this is hard to argue with. Guess we just need to wait.
  22. I've certainly done without disconnecting my usb hub which is where my mouse is plugged. No issues with update.
  23. Thank you all sooo much for the input... I just tried the 60hz with NO motion repro. A bit lower graphics settings within DCS. With this, I get perfectly steady 60fps, pretty good eye candy, and basically no stutters! Very cool. I feel I can maybe tell "something" different than the 90hz but I have a feeling I would get used to it, and certainly no bad eye or head effects yet. Going to try this a bit more and see if it's the right balance. Then, go back and re-try the 90hz WITH motion repro. @BIGNEWY @Dangerzone For you two on 90hz... would you care to share what other in-game (or other) graphics settings you've adjusted down to help you maintain 90 fps? Thanks again.
