  1. Oh that's good advice! I'll try that as well!
  2. Just making sure: You're up to date and have the "VR" tab in options? with VR checked, correct? Do you see any part of the loading or menus in VR, or as soon as you launch DCS, it goes to black?
  3. Greets, While flying yesterday (Hog), it occured to me that i felt the Trim settings of the plane were rather steep. One click NoseUp would greatly affect the plane's pitch angle. Thanks for the info
  4. Just to be clear, my OP is not about the technique. It's about the weird behavior surrounding it. I can connect and refuel fine. You make contact; Then suddenly, your plane is pushed upward (near-collision with the KC-130's tail) with no input on my part. On a practice on Aerobatics online yesterday. I got the same issue. This happened more than once. I'd understand the explaination of "the straw pushing you down somewhat". But pushed literally pushed upward into the Tanker's tail makes no sense. And i have no control over it. It's figuratively like if you'd tap the A10's nose up with your finger. It pitches up 10 degrees like magic. I'm really starting to think that on contact, there is a Reset Trim that occurs momentarily[bug]. Because after the "pitch up event", i can settle the hog back (pull throttle, stabilize, reengage...) and i can connect normally.
  5. One of the best purchase i made in the past few years.
  6. I'm just gonna throw it out there; With all the stuff DCS is producing right now... New planes, New Maps, New textures, new ATC... Would it be ok if perhaps, at the end of 2016, when all that good stuff is "supposed" to be release, for the DCS crew to take a solid month of vacation. Go away. Relax. Refresh. 2016 is gonna be a GREAT year for DCS. After which, if perhaps it would be possible to spend a solid 6 months to Stabilize the product. No dev on new features. No new planes, no new maps, no new trees... It's fun to have new features every now and then yes. But at the same time, its really fun for this new content to be useful. Right now, it seems like a lot of standard stuff is; or not working properly, is very unstable, or not working at all. Here are a few examples of things that really need lovin': I have no inside knowledge of how DCS manage resources. That said, i do have knowledge of how Videogame management "should" work. And even with "perpetual production" plans, there are phases for debug/stabilization and production of assets. In this case, and the reason for this post, is that the Stabilization phase seems to always be forgotten and taken for granted. Please, take a breather, step back, and look at the product. Thank you for reading.
  7. Good idea! Forgot all about dropbox. Here's the track. During flight, i've tried various ways to approach to the boom. Sometimes it works fine. Other times the stick becomes solid and the plane gets catapulted. I've tried with the refueltrap open and closed as well (seems to happen in both instances). https://www.dropbox.com/s/jzql9hgkid99bz2/a10crefueljerking.trk?dl=0
  8. made a track... but the forum won't let me upload it :(
  9. Where did you get your joystick extension? I'm looking for something quite similar. I use the obutto R3v.
  10. Well in my case, due to the cockpit, i can; 1: Put the joystick over the seat (as it is now) but be much higher. This basically prevents me from using an extension. 2: Put the joystick "under" and "forward" from the seat position. This allows me a much better extension possibility. But puts the joystick further ahead than i want (at Knee position). That's why the curve is important in my case. It will bring the joystick back to its intended position, while the base can be further ahead, under/in front of the seat. Here with my extreme drawing talent. Small red= my current situation Long red= what i'd like to avoid, while using an extension S green= what i look at accomplishing.
  11. No Mist expert. Suggestion: In your mission. Create one plane type you want (mig29). create its waypoint, tasking and all that. once done. Name it. Copy/paste that plane group setup. Change the plane to su-27. Make sure it's got the same waypoint/brief you need. Each flight needs to be LateActivate. Now in triggers, Asign each "groupActivate" as a different Flag Value. (ex: 2-1 to 2-6). make a randomized Flag event (flag 2-1 to 2-6). Now create a spawn event for each Flight group (mig29, su-27...) through the various Flag/Values. Flag 2-1= Groupactivate Mig29 Flag 2-2= Groupactivate Su-27 Flag 2-3= Groupactivate Tornadowhatever Flag 2-4... Now, you can copy/paste that whole sequence, and create a "second wave" as Flag 3-1 to 6. Then another one, flag 4, flag 5... and so on. Now, to finish this. For each group that dies from a flag, you make a OnDeathCondition to change the Flag up 1, and re-randomize. So when flag2-1(mig29) dies. Your condition is now Flag3 (with a randomized value 1-6). Flag 3-1= Groupactivate Mig29 Flag 3-2= Groupactivate Su-27 Flag 3-3= Groupactivate Tornadowhatever Flag 3-4... once your Flag3 flight dies. Your condition is now Flag4.... and so on. You could make something like 999 Spawn cycles like this. If you want/are so inclined. Not done with mist... but hell.
  12. Maybe it's "simulated". But essentially, i can sit behind the tanker forever without turbulence. The moment i make contact (taking fuel), the pig just auto-trims itself to some "other" settings. It's like it cancels my trim settings. So i go from super smooth, to jerky up/down. It really feels like when you activate the Hog's auto-pilot. It sort of jerks up and then settles. Except, during refuel, the settle doesn't happen and i usually end up in the tanker.
  13. Hey guys, Been using a Obutto R3v for the past year now and absolutely love it. It,s one of those amazing purchase for your gaming experience (mostly sim, but other games/comfort as well). I got their Hotas kit as well, with joystick at center position (between legs). I use the Warthog Thrustmaster Hotas, which i love as well. However, the Joystick is too high. It becomes mostly appearent when you try to do precise maneuvering like tight formation flying, hovering or refueling. I've been trying to find a good extension kit that would work well for the Obutto, but i'm having some difficulty. I'm like a S-type extension so that i can keep the Joystick's base, on the Obutto hotas kit, but i can't seem to find anything? Anyone has a suggestion? Essentially, this(which as far as i know, is not available):
  14. Hey guys, Been trying to understand and figure out why, there is an Auto-pilot that kicks in every time you connect to the KC-130? What i can't figure it out. Every time you connect, it kind of auto-corrects you and sends you up or down without your consent. It's maddening. Note: this was present all the way back to LOMAC.
  15. That,s pretty much exactly what i'm trying to pinpoint. Thanks for the Event marker. I'm trying to figure out a way to note or mark a gps (or other) coordinate at the ejection moment. That information is super easy to get in a replay or with Tacview, but i'd like for the Engine to know immediately. Do you know of a way to get the "event initiator location"? with a triggergroup (if even_eject in triggerzone[...], "do this")?
  16. Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out a way to track where a player or AI that ejected finds themselves on the ground. The idea is to send rescue/OpFor to that location, within the same mission. Any idea how to fetch that information?
  17. The resolution option you see in the option menu is for your fullscreen res. It's not for the CV1/VIVE. The game is automatically downscaled to the VR headset (menu and in-engine).
  18. Im in Rift, and i go from 55 to 25 per eye, depending on a slew of different events (look at towns, look at too many clouds, look at explosion...). Unfortunately, this is in DCS's hands. They need to optimise their engine more. Sad.
  19. Currently, activating injectors work only on screen renders. Not in VR sets (Rift, Vive...). Would be very nice to be able to run these injectors.
  20. No mention of ATC updates. And without that, Carrier operation is pretty much suicide, really ;)
  21. Hey guys, With the current sale going on for map modules... why isn't Normandy available for pre-purchase? Just curious, Thanks
  22. It would be quite easy to add "spectator" camera points on the deck. (CTRL-11 as well). That's a good idea.
  23. Anyone's figured out a way to make Reshade/SweetFX work in VR? Aside from the whole "change of color/contrast" part, one great tool we had with the DK2 (for example) was control over the Sharpness. That greatly helped in VR. Unfortunately, since CV1/Vive, Reshade no longer activates in-VR (it does on screen however).
  24. Out of curiosity; This panel is pretty damn impressive. On a more "Objective" or "Game-Related" point of view, the only part of this panel that really has importance is the CDU... Have you considered building this whole panel in parts? I'd find the CDU to be a great first proposition. I don't much care for the warnings panel or ILS. These things are easy to interact with in the software. But the CDU, that is something very good to have physically next to you. Just a though. Cheers,
  25. Yup, interested as well.
