Pretty sure you can start the Hornet faster manually than the auto start ever could. Try skipping all the lights and BIT tests and just go straight from battery on > APU on > right engine crank > move from off to idle at 20 RPM.

Flying a scripted mission with my squadronmates, we all experienced bizarre failures of navigation/electrical systems approximately 40 minutes into the mission. Personally, the HUD was frozen, my MFDs were frozen, the SA page was stuck, the HSI was stuck, couldn't change them at all. Only the attack radar screen was unaffected, and displayed correct heading, speed and altitude. Autopilot appeared to be nonfunctional, the JHMCS was stuck at its last working readouts, and everyone had zero nosewheel steering on the ground. A couple of other players did not experience these problems except for lack of NWS. I have 4 tracks collected into a zip file on mediafire here (don't know how to trim them from MP, sorry), .miz file, and a couple of screenshots showing the HUD and MFDs frozen. Video source linked is from an F/A-18E, Super Hornet. Can't really claim it to be inaccurate in sim as there are actual real differences in the two aircraft. -
track and screenshots attached. In the Hornet, dialling in 99X makes the TACAN heading bug go insane between the two airports. When i eventually "landed" at Al Udeid, the tacan ID finally changed to ALD. Additionally, when i restarted the mission, 99X no longer displayed MIN but ALD all the time now. (latest OB version, only community A-4 installed) aludeid tacan.trk

I have this exact issue as well. Sensor select hat switch depress binding changes point to area and vice versa. its a custom scheme, using virpil mongoos t-50 stick -
double check mission editor that ICLS is on the carrier and set to a frequency Set icls frequency to correct channel in-sim press on to activate it box ICLS on the HSI to actually put it on the HUD

... we'll get the SEA a/g radar mode when it comes. BOL mode will be fine as is until then, if the mission is designed appropriately.

well i completely removed the liveries folders in both installs and only put custom ones in the main "dcs open beta" folder, and so far its working. Sure as heck not touching livery folder in the other path again -

wasnt sure where to post it, as the issue affected selection in all the modules I had installed -
WARNING do not do this unless you want to screw up livery selection for all aircraft creating an "f-14b" folder in \Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\ disabled EVERY LIVERY in the game for player piloted aircraft. Livery selection in-game and in the mission editor was blank. Repairing and cleaning the installs fixed some aircraft, but not others, and eventually I had to completely remove the liveries folders from all affected aircraft and force the game to re-download them. please fix D:

ICLS is supposed to move with a pitching deck. It gets you to the point where you can fly the ball the rest of the way down. If you're not flying the ball last 3/4ths nautical mile, you're doing it wrong. It's not a bug, carrier aviation is realistically just as difficult in the real world.

I usually drop gear at 250kts, half-flaps at 200 kts, and full flaps at 150 kts. Start trimming for on-speed between 200/150 kts and it will keep it

You can spawn at least 10 aircraft cold start on the carrier, but for some reason this only works in missions originally created before mid-February. Mission attached to demonstrate 12 plane spawn demo.miz
