  1. .... just what the hell does the name mean, anyway? Flaming cliffs? Cliffs on fire? How on earth does that make you think of a modern jet fighter combat sim/game? :helpsmilie:
  2. I didn't know automatic rifles and small arms made a relatively large muzzle flash and dust cloud popping up? Check from 0.23 to 0.25 seconds. That's a hell of a large rifle. :music_whistling:
  3. Rough release date on when this thing goes for pre-purchase? Just June?
  4. A dynamic campaign isnt the greatest thing for a complex flight simulator to have, you know. I for one enjoy a scripted and storied campaign. A dynamic campaign eventually feels like a series of repetitive missions over and over... That being said, if you want one so badly, go learn how to use the mission editor and frankenstein one into being. It'll take a lot of work and effort, but I'm sure it'll pay off with enjoyment in the long run.
  5. Sure, just set the trigger action to "ai off" or "ai on" whenever you want it to happen.
  6. Try putting it on your 9 or 3'o'clock sides and head for the ground, while also jamming and dropping chaff. And look for some terrain to hide behind.
  7. Is your tanker flying an orbit task? If it is, check the speed setting of that orbit...
  8. Russian bombers are currently equipped with a nuclear air to surface cruise missiles in the simulator, but the damage is the same as a regular bomb. I wonder if I can mod it to make it more nuclear-sized? :D Ah.. the Kh-22N. 350 kt yield. Also the Kh-65, 200 kt yield.
  9. Did you run out of fuel?
  10. Is there any way for a trigger in the editor to detect if an airport has been damaged? For example, if the runway gets bombed or damaged in some other way, it will become unusable to AI - aircraft will not take off from it, or land, and will just ignore it. It seems a bit odd that this feature is in the game but no way for the editor to detect and use it as a condition.
  11. Lawl. Complain about the Hornet in one sentence and say the game is broken in the next. You are too funny, Frosty! :megalol: Speaking about meager internals, the F-15C has about 2000 pounds more internal fuel capacity than the legacy Hornet, and about 1000-1500 pounds less than the Super Hornet. So without fuel tanks.. yeah, you're right, you'd just piss through that in no time. See, the thing is, Frosty, the F-15C was built as an interceptor. The Hornet was built for multi-role. So yea, I acknowledge, that as an interceptor, much the like the F-4 Phantom before it, is gonna have more fuel and speed capability than a multi-role. Unfortunately for your Eagle hard on, going Mach 2 in a dogfight isn't all that feasible. :joystick:
  12. Fuel tanks? Hornet doesn't need no stinkin' fuel tanks to go vertical on take off. :P
  13. Looking awesome is a matter of opinion, Frosty. Flying straight up without falling out of the sky? ... check. Fly more than a hundred miles without tanking 33 times? ... check. Where do you get these "facts" from? :pilotfly:
  14. Actually, that was a dig at Frostiken, who takes every chance to troll the F/A-18. ;) Anyways, turns out I did manage to get red tracers working: Unfortunately, they only appear red/orange when viewed at a distance. Zoomed in they're right back to yellow.
  15. I distinctly remembering going through a LUA file and seeing the max number of planes that plane could have in a group about a week ago. Unfortunately i can't remember what file it was. D:
  16. I tried changing the ZU-23 shell to tracer_color_red but it was still yellow, and I couldn't find a line in the .lua file that matched any RGB type thingies or hex value. So I am sad too. :(
  17. Yeah, Strike Eagle crews dont need AAA to lose their plane, just their own incompetence brings it down. :music_whistling:
  18. A-10C is close air support... F-15E, F-16, and F/A-18 can not do it as well because they can't really do low and slow with a titanium bathtub for protection. What the Strike Eagle can do is precision strikes on fixed targets really well, or carpet bombing. The Falcon and the Hornet are capable of air cover, suppression of enemy air defences, strike, and pretty much everything in between, though the Hornet can also serve as tankers and dedicated electronic warfare planes. The A-10 can only really do close air support. Strike would be possible if in the mission editor we could place groups of structures rather than just one structure at a time *hint hint*
  19. Want to share with the rest of the class?
  20. At least we'd be able to go really, really fast in a Phantom. ;)
  21. Sounds awesome but I have no idea what it really means :p
  22. When choosing what to set the duration of a task is for a unit, there's either TIME, FLAG, and CONDITION.. I have no idea how to use the CONDITION field. I tried copying a condition from the trigger list but it didn't work. :( Anyone help? :joystick:
  23. What does it mean when it refuses to generate a mission? I try generating one and it always says "MISSION WAS NOT GENERATED"
