  1. It'd be really useful and convenient, and especially for the upcoming F/A-18C, if we could place structures in groups and save them as templates like we can for aircraft, vehicles and ships.
  2. You mean besides the fact they all (except AIM-54 and R-33) fall short?
  3. With no thrust or forward movement how does a missile keep that angle? And i'm not exaggerating about the floating part, it really just drops straight down like a brick.
  4. So uh.. any thoughts on my post? o.O
  5. I don't think chaff rejection is the problem. After observing aerial battles between AI i've noticed the only radar guided missiles that score a hit is the R-40 and the AIM-54C. Mainly because they have the thrust to keep going. Every other radar missile loses energy half way through their flight path and just sail to the ground. They definitely try to guide to a head on intercept with aircraft but they just don't have enough energy. Even when falling they don't pick up speed, or keep it, they just steadily lose it. Most of the aircraft involved in the fight are at excellent skill level. To add on to that, I've noticed a lot of IR-guided missiles exhibiting odd behavior - if they've gone ballistic, they'll just float to the ground at decelerating speeds, also a problem with the radar guided missiles.
  6. yep.... http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=110575
  7. So i've started noticing AI flights blowing up on the runway when they land together. In the debrief details screen it shows they hit each other. :music_whistling:
  8. Okay, after more testing it seems like group activate is not recognizing the group dead conditions or something. I have set a group to activate after 4 groups of aircraft are dead and once they do die they refuse to activate. :/ edit: ughhhh did they change the group dead conditions? I can't get any trigger action to recognize it. MOAR TESTING...
  9. SA-19 has a radar that radiates. F-18 carries a high speed anti-radiation missile. Hmmmmm....
  10. Okay... apparently I can not get any kind of late activation to work. I even tried setting ground units to activate 20 minutes after mission start just by itself. No go. edit: nevermind, didnt see I accidentally set them too late. Group activate still doesn't work though.
  11. Then I must be doing something wrong because I'm trying to get infantry MANPADS to activate late and they are not working at all. :(
  12. Does group activate/late activation still not work for ground units?
  13. So I noticed this AI fella doing something weird - he was pointed straight down yet flying straight-ish and climbing a bit. I captured a few photos and then decided to try FRAPS to capture it, but it seems like fraps did something because the moment I started recording it immediately remembered its own flight model and promptly lawn darted into the ground. Still, the video captures one second at the beginning of the video showing the Flogger moving laterally. Here's some photos. Remember to look at the altitude readout at the bottom: http://i.imgur.com/RxXvZSt.jpg http://i.imgur.com/XhIx59O.jpg http://i.imgur.com/xRFV0kB.jpg The attached track file should show it provided it doesn't screw up. The Mig in question is the #4 MiG-23. It will start happening pretty much right after take off. WTF mig23.trk
  14. I think Sparrows are having better much better luck than AMRAAMs, ironically...
  15. Oh a whole bunch of things. You know, sit in the middle of carrier, sink into the carrier, land on the carrier and slide off the end into the water, land on the carrier, move to a parking spot and then sit there in that exact position even if its floating in mid air ten miles behind the carrier...
  16. Praise ED! Naval aircraft properly land and park on carriers again!
  17. Does anyone know what the value means in the condition? I was hoping it meant # of bombs or altitude but nothing happened. :( EDIT: Works in 1.2.5
  18. Wow. Nevada map looks down right beautiful. :D
  19. That sounds like the APG-79 AESA radar. I'm pretty sure the APG-73 radar does not have nearly as high resolution SAR like the one you're talking about.
  20. This appears to have seriously messed up from previous versions. Before, if I hit F7, it would instantly take me to a vehicle. Now, I have to hold it down for a few seconds before it will take me to it and then I have to pray hitting it over and over again will switch vehicles. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. What gives?
  21. bearing range altitude
  22. Yeah, I set a flight of 4 hornets to take off from the carrier. In one playthrough #3 and #4 a/c crashed into the water. Second playthrough only #3 crashed. It looked as if the aircraft were floating above the carrier before take-off. Ugh. I hope ED will fix the never-ending problems with carriers by the time DCS F/A-18C releases.
  23. What altitude are you at when you get those minimum speed warnings?
  24. Then by and large you have been using it incorrectly. I have always understood Mad Dog to be the brevity term for it in Jane's F-18 and never heard anyone, singleplayer or multiplayer call out "pitbull" for that.
