  1. Well that only took me a couple of days.... :D Now if only I had an actual Superhornet model to work with..
  2. Why's that? The lack of a refueling drogue? :p If only I knew how to give the S-3B the tanker type = x, attribute.. I've looked but not found anything indicating it. Maybe hardcoded. :(
  3. I did some digging in the scripts folder. The F-18 was set to refuel with "tanker type = 2," and I figured that was the IL-76. Considering I don't usually (never) have IL-76s refueling US Navy aircraft, I switched it to "tanker type = 1," and got it to refuel with a -135:
  4. F-18 can still refuel with KC-135s in RL, but regardless of that, can't in the sim and can't with the sim S-3B. http://www.aeronauticpictures.com/stock-photo/digital-photography/military-stock-photography/fa-18c-hornet-stock-photos/fa-18c_hornet_re-fueling_navy_usn_uss-enterprise_cvn-65_stock-photo_00006.jpg Also, be back in a few minutes after yum yum dinner. :D
  5. I imagine it would be able to refuel with the S-3B Tanker version.. except no aircraft can refuel with that airplane. Which means the F-18 is gimped in the sim when it comes to aerial refueling.
  6. I tried it in increments starting from 2000 pounds to 1500 to 1000 and then to 500.. the F-16 in identical circumstances, both accompanying and not accompanying the F/A-18 refueled... the Hornet always turned around. >.<
  7. I can't get the F-18 to do a refueling with either the S-3B Tanker or the KC-135. I set the Hornet's fuel to about 500 pounds, gave it a refueling task, and put the tankers right next to it. It just turned around and landed at the nearest airfield. I put a F-16 right next to the Hornet. The Falcon refueled with the KC-135. What gives?
  8. Loved the Hornet one, loved the final Tomcat cruise one in related videos. :D
  9. F-14s dropping PGMs.. always cool. :D
  10. I'd know better if I had an example :p
  11. The point is that its disrespectful, rude, and contributes to making this forum a worse place to be? How about that?
  12. I think it had less to do with radar lockup and more with the fact both missiles were miraculously in the exact same piece of air on opposite directions and collided with each other. :D
  13. Sadly, I don't have the track... and even if I did you'd probably have to apply my WIP superhornet mod for it to work :p
  14. Yeah in one of my missions, once they get to the bombing runway waypoint, they just veer off and land at the nearest airbase. :( I had to line them up manually and use a groundattack...
  15. So I was testing out my Superhornet mod's pylon positions in the mission editor, and in the game I've got the E model and the C model facing off, each going head on, and both fire an AIM-120, 27 miles away from each other. BAM. The missiles collide with each other in mid-air. :hehe:
  16. Can you give an image example of your polish metal look?
  17. I reported it in tech support but last I checked, it received no replies.
  18. I can see trying to figure out the pylon positions is going to be the hardest here...
  19. I think I screwed up the pylon positions... :music_whistling:
  20. Okay. I think I've managed to add the C model to Canada, and I've found a bunch more files where F/A-18C was mentioned. Right now I found the plane variables for the C in "PlaneConst" and added an entry for the E model and am changing the numbers.. hope this works!
  21. Just to record my own progress, I made a copy of the FA-18C file, changed the characteristics to match the Super Hornet (did not find any engine lines other than max speed though...), and I think I added the pylons and payload options. Now I'm seeing where the file FA-18C is mentioned in the game's folders so I can copy the newly made FA-18E file into the relevant ones.
  22. I want to do a couple of mods to update the F/A-18 capabilities in the mission editor since it seems to be sort of out of whack with everything else... for instance, I know you can add pylons to at least the Hog (saw one crazy picture where that guy had like a hundred mavericks), so I was wondering if I could jerry rig a couple of pylons to the existing C Hornet, copy over the entire data, keep the model look, and tweak the flight characteristics to make a crude Super Hornet.. oh and if I could add either the AIM-120C to the F/A-18A inventory in the sim or the C model to Spain/Canada's selection of aircraft. :joystick: :helpsmilie: So to summarize: 1) Want to add pylons to the F/A-18C 2) Want to give Canada/Spain access to the C model 3) Want to give their F/A-18A access to the AIM-120C if (2) is not possible
  23. You have a remarkable fascination with trolling every thread where people are wishing/discussing for a Hornet sim. Do you see any of us trolling F-15 wish threads? No. Grow up.
  24. And then you can be treated to all of them missing their targets. :music_whistling:
  25. Surely hoping they announce the modern fighter in the next few days, too. :( :D
