Thanks, Here are the livery files: And here is the description file:
-
I have a simple roughmet file I am using as a test bed. I can try to send you a copy of my description file or I'll post it here.

Does anyone know if there is a way to show bombs and or drop tanks on the aircraft in the model viewer? I can view bombs, drop tanks and aircraft all separately however when I open the P-51 model I see no options to view the payloads installed on the aircraft.

Human wing man ejected today and his MiG went into a parked condition.

Latest version Open Beta. Flying along looking for AAA I heard a loud thud in the cockpit. Looked around and found I was missing a wing. (He found me first) No negative effects. She flew normally.

In the past I have been shot during a dog fight and had oil leak all over my canopy. This would be an ideal occasion that could possibly turn into an in flight engine fire. Additionally, if I trigger an oil leak in the Open Beta mission editor I do not get visible oil on the aircraft or canopy. Instead the oil pressure just drops to zero and the engine locks up shortly after... ED, can we also get visible oil when the oil leak action is triggered? Thanks.
-
(Separate from my request) I do recall the P-51 had small visible flames coming from the exhaust during normal engine running but I think we lost that at some point. Although this is not what I am requesting, I would like to see this return as well.
-
No I am talking about an in flight engine fire. (Caused by a fuel leak or oil leak) There are emergency procedures for aircraft that have an engine fire after takeoff or during flight. I would like to trigger this action for both training purposes and video making.

Four years later... I would like to request this once again. Thanks.

- "After take off I slowly climb with 2700rpm and 170 kts." - "With altitude the manifold pressure decreases until the high blower kicks in. Pressure goes back up to 60" You should not be climbing with max or high manifold and 2700 rpm. After takeoff reduce the manifold to 46" and 2700 rpm. As altitude increases the manifold will slowly decrease, this is normal. Use the throttle to increase and maintain 46" until desired cruising altitude. In order to obtain hot air, the Hot Air control handle must be set to HOT and the Cold Air control handle set to UNRAMMED FILTERED AIR. If the Cold Air control handle is set to RAM AIR, the hot air control will be ineffective. Use carburetor heat as required to keep the carburetor air temperature within limits to improve engine operation during takeoff. Use carburetor heat as required to improve fuel vaporization and combat carburetor icing, but do not use carburetor heat above 12,000 feet as resultant excessively lean mixtures will cause engine roughness due to the effect of heat on the altitude compensator of the carburetor. During an approach, use carburetor heat when outside air temperatures are below -12°C (10°F). To prevent carburetor icing, set the carburetor Ram Air control lever to UNRAMMED FILTERED AIR and the Hot Air control lever to HOT AIR. Use the two controls together. If application of carburetor hot air does not remove roughness, clean out the engine by running it at full Takeoff Power for one minute. If carburetor ice is the cause of roughness, use hot air as needed to prevent further ice formation.

Here are three of my new highly polished P-51 skins. I am working on a version of these without the glossy paint as well. Gold Digger: Cherry Bomb: Maiden America: Download them here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/?CREATED_BY=Mike%20Busutil&set_filter=Y

Ok, here is what I found. The drop tank texture location is here: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Bazar\World\textures\AeroWeapons.zip There are three files. Drop_tank_75gal.dds Drop_tank_75gal_Normal.dds Drop_tank_75gal_RoughMet.dds If I edit the first file "Drop_tank_75gal.dds" and edit the description file to read {"Drop_tank_75gal", 0 ,"Drop_tank_75gal",false}; I can successfully change the color as desired but the rough texture remains. I can edit the roughmet file for this but I am not sure yet how to edit the description file to read my edited file rather than the default roughmet file. I have tried this but it was unsuccessful I think. {"Drop_tank_75gal_RoughMet", ROUGHNESS_METALLIC ,"Drop_tank_75gal_RoughMet",false}; Anyone have some insight to this? I'll keep playing with it ans see what I can come up with. Thanks for any help.

Is the Tomcat the Air to Air King in DCS
Mike Busutil replied to CBenson89's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Not only is the F-14 the air to air king but it's also the best looking... -
Disregard, found it.

Where can one find the texture layers for the drop tanks? Thanks. :book:

I figured it out. In the description file I had to make this change to the Bort number and serial number. Default {"P51D_BORT_NUMBER_FRONT_10", DECAL ,"P51D_bort_number",true}; changed to {"P51D_BORT_NUMBER_FRONT_10", DECAL ,"empty",true}; Default {"P51D_SERIAL_NUMBER_L_001", DECAL ,"P51D_serial number",true}; changed to {"P51D_SERIAL_NUMBER_L_001", DECAL ,"empty",true};

Can someone please remind me how to remove the Bort numbers /serial numbers on the fuse? I am working on a skin and the numbers all read 0 & have that ugly rectangle around them wrecking the skin. When I remove it from the layers the Bort/Serial numbers just show all zero in game. "0000" "00". I recall having to edit the description file to correct this but its been a few years since I have done it and not sure if the process has changed. Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the confirmation AustonMartin.

Thank you sir.

Sorry, I am unfamiliar with that.

Thanks Tomcatter, I guess that points to it being a bug rather than my setup.

I am working on a Huey mission that requires troops to be loaded and unloaded from the Huey. So far I have been unsuccessful in making this work. Can someone see if you spot my error or recommend the required steps if my setup if wrong? I have created a new infantry group, named it, gave them multiple way-points, set the last way-point up as "Embark to transport", enabled the task, set the vehicle group to UH-1 and set a proper radius for the pickup area. For the Huey I have set multiple way-points, set one of the way-points that meet the infantry group to "Embark" & enabled the task, selected the "On land" option and set a 15 sec time. Lastly I have selected the infantry group name and selected add. Additionally the Huey is setup as "transport" and the infantry group is setup as "transportable" When I land nothing happens and if I bring up the menu for airborne troops, the list is blank. I am not sure if I am making an error somewhere or if this function in 2.5.6 is currently bugged I can get this to work as is if the Huey is A.I but this is a player flown mission... Thanks for any help with this.

PingPongChampeen, If you go back to page 27 here I posted a winter camo for the Huey. If that is not what you are looking for please post a picture here for reference. Thanks.
