  1. My new skin design for the Christen Eagle from the 1980 David Carradine movie "Cloud dancer". In the movie the aircraft used were S-1S and S-2A Pitts Specials and flown by the original Christen Eagle aerobatic team. Tom Poberezny & Charlie Hillard with Gene Soucy being a consultant. Jimmy Leeward was also in the movie as a P-51 pilot. Very cool movie from the 80's if you like airplanes... Lots of work went into this skin, hope you like it.
  2. I am just finishing up a new skin today and can take this one on.
  3. Those can be found in C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Bazar\Textures\uh-1.zip. If you're not using the open beta version it can be found in C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bazar\Textures\uh-1.zip The default file name is "uh1_cover". OR you can disable those (Exhaust IR suppressors) in the mission editor.
  4. The C.I.A Black Helicopter is ready to go. Find it here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3307714/
  5. What is the secret to getting really high def textures in the sim? I mostly see this being a problem in the cockpit area of modules. I have tried smaller textures and up to 4K textures but they seem to remain blurry when zooming in after resizing them to the required sizes.
  6. Yes sir, "cavalery" is how it is spelled in the root zip folder and in the description file.
  7. I am trying to edit the pilot patches. If I go to C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Bazar\Textures\uh-1.zip I find the default pilot patch file named "pilot_UH1_patch_1_cavalery" It looks like this. I am copying this file to my desktop, putting it into DXTBmp to convert it from a DDS to a Bmp file. I am using Photoshop to edit the image and am saving it as a Bmp. I place this file back into DXTBmp and save it as a DDS DXT5 file. I am then placing this new edited file into my livery folder and editing the description file to read: {"pilot_UH1_patch_1_cavalery", 0, "pilot_UH1_patch_1_cavalery", false}. This did not work and the default patches remain. I then tried to edit the name for new patch DDS file to "pilot_UH1_patch" and changed the description file to read: {"pilot_UH1_patch_1_cavalery", 0, "pilot_UH1_patch", false}. This did not work and the default patches remain. Anyone see an error in this or know why this is not working for me? Thanks for any help.
  8. I found if I edit and replace the default "uh1_int" file in the zipped folder it works. Does this mean I have a problem with my description file? (Noted above)
  9. Look like it's there in the default map... Why wouldn't it be in the Marianas?
  10. I am making the effort to overhaul the low res ugly rear textures of the Huey with some HD textures and dark interior for a new skin. So far I have found the correct dds file for the interior to edit and have completed initial editing but i'm having trouble getting it into the sim. I took the default "uh1_int.dds" file, converted it to a bmp file and edited it in Photoshop. I then saved it as a bmp and converted it back to a dds file. I thought I could put this new dds file directly in my livery folder and edit the description file but that did not work. I made a new line in the description.lua file that reads {"uh1_int", 0, "uh1_int", false}; but this did not work. I tried to change the name of the file and and my description file to read {"uh1_int", 0, "New HD Dark Interior", false}; but this did not work. My new livery works just fine so I know my skin folder is good. Any thoughts on getting this interior file recognized? Thanks. Edit* It appears the file is working as some of the cockpit area changes I made do appear however the white wall panels and rear seats remain the same and are not showing my edits...
  11. Another question for anyone that can help... I took the uh1_int.dds file, converted it to a bmp file and edited it in Photoshop. I then saved it as a bmp and converted it back to a dds file. Where is the correct location I need to place this new file? I thought I could put it directly in my livery folder and edit the description file but that did not work. I made a new line in the description.lua file that reads {"uh1_int", 0, "uh1_int", false};
  12. Perfect, thank you sir.
  13. I am working on a new Huey skin and would love to be able to edit the low res white fabric panels in the rear of the heli. Can someone point me to the correct file location if this is possible? I have had no luck finding it. Thank you.
  14. Great info Hueyman. Those are all great points and will make the DCS Huey even better.
  15. Awesome! Love your campaign's.
  16. Sir, Great work on this one!
  17. I was heading towards a tanker the other day and decided to dump fuel along the way so I could be low on fuel by the time I connect. After connecting it seemed like it was taking forever to fill up, I looked down and noticed I left the fuel dump on... Jester call outs for fuel dumping and bingo fuel are a great idea and would help from having dumb moments like mine. So I stupidly found out the tanker can put fuel in faster than the dump can put out. But not by much.

  19. Sir, I still have a 30% warning on mine from 2012. It's so old I don't remember what it was for and can't see it. I'm sure I said something stupid out of aggravation though... Can this be removed or do I get to keep it?
  20. Coolant and oil radiator doors in auto? Are you warming the engine up properly? (Idle at about 1200-1300 RPM until the oil temperature reaches 40°C and the oil pressure is steady)
  21. A real F-14 Pilot is not required to pull the ejection handle three times... I like LCtrl+ E...One press and it ejects.
  22. Looking for a little more help on how I can accomplish this, I tried removing the alpha layer for the canopy which was labeled "L39C_GLASS SPEC.dds" but that just gave me a see through checkerboard texture. I'm not sure where the transparency layer is. My goal is to have the canopy colored the same color as the aircraft skin color and not able to see through it. Thanks for any help with this.
  23. Thanks. Anyone know where can I find the external canopy layers for the L-39? I can find the cockpit layers in: "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\L-39C\Textures\L-39C-CPT-TEXTURES.zip" But I have had no luck finding the external canopy layers.
