  1. Hm... I do hope this will work in more DCS-modules than BS... ;)
  2. Well, if it's not released today, WTH not? :D
  3. I voted "None of the above" because I don't play LO online. :P Privately, though, I play FC.
  4. Fair enough. I'll just see about the Hog, then. geogob: Well, mostly I was "afraid" of the realism, and how difficult it may or may not be to fly a helicopter - as a study-sim, it may plain and simple be getting in over my head, and I'm supposed to spend my time doing other time-consuming things. :smartass: So, I wanted a demo to make sure.
  5. Huh. Well, that's pretty cool. Question_answered+=1.
  6. Eww, it looks dirty! Is it supposed to do that?
  7. At the risk of sounding like a broken record: Any news on any demo-version of BS? For those of us who'd like to try-before-you-buy this time around? Last I asked, there was something planned, at least, but then all sorts of things happened, and now people say there won't be a demo, making me cry. So, what's the story? From the horse's mouth, kind of thing?
  8. I don't think I understand this... OK, so I start with BS. Then along comes A-10, and, for the purpose of this discussion, I choose not to buy it. But you seem to suggest I can still upgrade BS with the fancy new bells and whistles of the A-10-release... without the added flyable, I suppose? How does this work, exactly?
  9. What, does this game/sim load slower than The Witcher?? :) (Heh, honestly, you should've seen the unpatched load-time for the main Vizima Outskirts area! Not just two minutes, no sir. Of course, then they went and patched it, I tripled my RAM-amount - all hella fast. Anyway.)
  10. About the ILS, I noticed the autopilot likes to automatically deactivate about 50 meters (not sure on feet) off the ground, especially during landing. (In other words, you HAVE to land manually at some point.) Could this be the problem?
  11. My... What... Why...? WTF?? :megalol:
  12. You lot are making me officially confused... Using this RShift+R-combination as an example, which is the modifier, and which is the key? Also, let the records show that I find it terribly awkward to be asked to press C+Ctrl. 'Nuff said. [Edit] Check GUI-manual, p. 17, Water-settings. Different order of 'surface effects' depending on setting. Stop that. :p
  13. You want dark nights, do you? Drop yourself in the middle of a swedish forest this time of year around midnight, and you shall know Darkness! :D
  14. Have a look at 'All settings', or whatever it's called in your language (or maybe it's called 'special something-or-other') - it should be the lowest entry in what flops out when you expand the '3D'-list in CCC. You should find, in a square marked as Direct3D options, find a few check-boxes (two for me on X1900XT), one of them reading 'Use alternate pixel-center'. Check this and see if it sorts you out. I really don't see how that would be the problem, though - only games from the nineties ever really needed this...
  15. Um... Are the campaigns really altered between the versions? If not, I'm pretty sure I can help... in mid-December. (Sorry, but I'm presently 1000+ miles away from my Lock-On machine.) If you still haven't been helped by then, send me a PM or e-mail and I'll gie it a shot. But not until mid-December.
  16. ... **** me sideways! Now THAT... is a nine-page-long list of nerdy savvy. However, it disturbs my circles that the Ctrl/Alt/wossname-keys you usually hold down while pressing the other key are written after the other key. (In the .pdf.)
  17. Good going, you lot! Now, when will you [Oh hush, you!] :P:pilotfly:
  18. I think I like this mod. Will monitor. 8)
  19. Hm. Using the uninstall-utility first and removing the chipset-software (did they mean GPU-BIOS? I didn't do the initial translation...) as well as the previous drivers had some interesting benefits. All of a sudden many character models (and the compass) are again visible in NWN, recent versions of X-Plane play nice for once (as long as HQ AF is turned off). WTH, it works (FINALLY!), and that's cool with me.
  20. Well, I've downloaded it. :) Though I can't say with any certainty when I'll try it out. Being busy sucks.
  21. Bah, I can't land it properly anyway! :D I try to stay below 300 (230-280 - I'm used to checking mph, not kph, mkay?), and COMPLETELY agree that the damage-modelling in the Frogfoot is effin sw33t. Been seeing it a lot.
  22. GAAAH! What the... What did those sons of ******** do?? Launching X-Plane all of a sudden gets me an error-message about atiogl2x.dll! NWN2 starts, but freezes when I try to load a module! *********** **** '***!!23 5"#¤%#"%! GRR! ANGER! [some yada-yada later:] Verdict: The combination of WinXP SP3, Catalyst 8.5, Radeon X1900XT PCIe and OpenGL seems to render these drivers no more than bloatware, good only for its controlpanel. How on earth is this even possible? (Granted, DirectX probably works more or less as expected, but OGL doesn't work AT ALL. Aren't ATI in some board or other related to that?)
  23. Well, only in ready-made missions. That sort of thing doesn't happen in free flight. *Shrug* Not in MS's world, anyway. X-Plane is another matter, but only about forest-fires.
  24. I do believe I have reason to revive this - I managed to update my BIOS! How about that? Now, this means I can actually get a new CPU! AND expect it to work! If I feel extreme, that means I can go from my X2 4800 (@ 2210 MHz) to an X2 6400 (@ 3200 MHz)! Or, I could be conservative and pay about $30 less for an X2 6000. Or maybe even less for a CPU in the 5x00-range. The price-span isn't all that large - about 1000 SEK for a 5000 (I think) up to 1700 for a 6400. What says the resident CPU-expertise? (About the previous step: That bundle of RAM bumped performance in The Witcher like you wouldn't believe!)
  25. Doh! It still has severe issues with X-Plane! To the bin with this one as well.
