I made a mission taking off from Anapa and I talk to the tower on 121Mhz. I can get startup and taxi clearance fine but always get "unable to give take off' or something like that when I request T/O clearance. Any ideas?
Input from guys like yourself is always very interesting and enlightening but the point me and the others were trying to make was that there was a boost pump sound in BETA 1, which you pointed out was wrong and is now fixed/removed in BETA 2.
Irrelevant isn't it since it's most definitely in the game (which means the game sound model is wrong then). There most certainly is something that sounds like a boost pump sound that starts once you activate the first switch on that panel!
You do not need a profile, period. I mapped everything via the in game controls GUI except the mini joystick. There I did create a profile to change it to bands so I can map keys to it again. On my stick it's the radio hat switch.
Gear is mapped to T2, flaps up to T1 and down to T3. Autopilot is mapped to T4. Master arm will be mapped to the guarded switch but there is currently not a button available in the controls menu to map it to in BETA 1.
So as almost per the real deal mapping are as follows then.
H4 forward and back is the speedbrakes.
H5 is the Up and down the boat switch and forward and aft the china switch. I use button D for china switch centre.
H6 mapped to Coolie hat
H7 to HOTAS slew functions
K button the pinky switch and F the left throttle button.
H1 is trim
H2 DMS
POV is TMS
H3 CMS
C is nose wheel steering and pinky mapped to trigger first stage.
The rest I use the clickable cockpit or straight via the keyboard.
I also own two Thrustmaster MFD's which are mapped accordingly.
So as you can see, almost like the real deal with slight modifications to accommodate the different layout.
This never happened to me yet. Very strange. It looks like you yank the stick into your stomach but you state you do this gently. Very weird!
Strange watching someone else track IR usage though :D You look around alor and do it rather quick :) I would suppose mine would look strange to for someone looking over my shoulder since my Cougar MFD's are a little set on the side and Ihave to look at them if I want to puch a button which would translate to head movement in the game ofcourse.
Question about SPI. When you do a TMS FWD LONG with the TGP as SOI, is there some kind of indication that your SPI changed or is now in fact designated?
I've had locks, launch and hits using the TGP, SPI mode at +- 5nm but I cannot do it consistantly, ie the last three missions I tried I could not get a track lock to launch as well. Eagerly awaiting the next BETA where, hopefully this was adressed.
From hard landings maybe but most definitely not from braking. Did several tests now and once landed, AS off and brakes full will lock the wheels up but they will not burst.
It's most prob merged with an existing thread so could be hard to find. Try the search function but alas that gives me about a 50% hit ratio on things I know is there someplace.
I have not tried the ILS in this yet but the real world version has nothing to do with what your course setting is, the needle will just prob not point straight up but the localizer and glideslope should work normally.
In your example, was there some deviation on the localizer or did it show you lined up correctly?
I'll try it tonight in the A10 ans see what happens. Remember, the localizer needle covers 5 degrees deviation on each side only so they will only get active in that zone. The further you are away the less sensitive the needles will be for deviation. As you get closer they will get more sensitive.
Zero to zigalo the chance of any of those for some time me thinks. They all have radars and ED already stated the engine will need extensive work to allow it to work correctly.
