  1. Who pays shipping?!?!? Shipping from my location and back will be 1/2 the price of a new one. Do that twice and I'm back to square one! If TM pays the shipping, then yeah sure, I agree, use and abuse the thing!
  2. RogueRunner

    x-plane 9

If you do decide on XP wait for 10. All the 10 version updates will be free then. XP is an acquired taste however. Some people hate it, others love it again. Download the demo and take it for a spin before you decide!!!!
  3. Is there anything bad that can happen if I run the Warthog stick only and my X65 throttle, ie Warthog throttle in the cupboard waiting for some word from TM?!?!?
  4. Yeah, face it, I'm nervous as hell each time I plug mine in. Like I posted elsewhere, I might bring the X65 out of the cupboard till TM gets their ducks in a row here. At least you still have to Cougar to play with as well. I am very very disappointed in the lack of communiques from TM in this regard!!
  5. Come now Grant, life is full of little challenges :P At the price you re getting it, it's worth buying it and then benching it will TM get the new software out the door.
  6. 1st and 2nd trigger for example mapped to one button.
  7. Yeah, this is one thing the DCS engine will not allow still, mapping two functions to the same button in game. Would be lovely if you can map everything in the game and not muck about with programming software for the various sticks. Never been my strong point and never will be. I stay away from using the mapping software for any of my joysticks as much as I can.
  8. I've just loaded the game last night again after about a month of not playing it and ran into the same small issue with IR missile launch detection again. I do not see this fixed in the list provided my Wags. The issue is that your launch detector will only give a warning tone to a missile launched at you. If launched at your wingie it stays silent. This should not be the case!! Hope to see it fixed in a later version then.
  9. For what they still go for right now?!? Nah!!!! :music_whistling: If you can find one for less than $100 then maybe
  10. Mine did have a teeny little bit of centre (very very small) to the left on the x axis. Solved by a 3% deadzone. The problem I had with the X65 was that I had the habit of resting my palm on the joystick base in level flight. On the X65 this will generate a force an thus cause a roll to the right. I had to teach myself to either force myself not to do it or take my hands of the stick entirely in level flight. That being said, the X65 is one fo the most precise joysticks I ever played with. With practise (and you will need practise when you start using it to reprogram your brain) you almost just think what you want done and it happens in game. Keeping constant pressure on the stick comes very naturally after a little practise and you will have precise control over the aircraft in no time flat. The top hats do need you to move your hands on the stick, you cannot simply move your fingers. It did not bother me much though!
  11. It's a PS2 type connection and mine is kinda stiff. You will have to give it quite a tug to dislodge it I guess but very possible of course still. As long as it doesn't move though I cannot see the connection coming loose by it self.
  12. I have both the X65 and Warthog. Love both!! The Warthog cannot be beaten in DCS A10C since it talks to the game natively. The two stage trigger problem on the X65 was solved by mapping a button on the throttle to PAC which worked great for me. I'm actually thinking of hooking my X65 back up to me system and benching the Warthog till TM sorts out this throttle issue. I have not played with it in a month maybe. For me, it will be almost as expensive as buying a new one if I have to ship it back and from TM again so simply not an option.
  13. Pinky switch forward I think it is. Auto is prob the wrong description, default might be the correct term :D
  14. If I should venture a guess, manual on startup, auto on ops flights and off once cleared in.
  15. Same here, works like a charm.
  16. yikes, you guys do get around! Saw the same post on an avaition forum in South Africa.
  17. Not a fan of the music video thing frankly. Gimme a video teaching me something any day, if I want to watch music videos I'll turn on the TV :D
  18. Can you upload it here or to rapidshare/hotfile please?
  19. I guess you'll just have to wait and sit it out. You will NOT get a release date out of ED that way. I think B5 is imminent so just hang on a tad then.
  20. The supersonic flight model in FSX was BADLY flawed pre P2. They did make some changes to it in SP2 I believe but it might still be flaky. Somehow FSX and combat aircraft just does not compute for me in any case :joystick:
  21. If pressurization is working you should not need O2 at any altitude!! When it fails though, different story, commercial law says (if I remember correctly, been awhile) , 2 hours at 10K max, 30min at 12K and O2 anything above 12K. On the BE20 O2 masks will pop out if cabin altitude goes through 13500'
  22. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Q_code Use the dail on your altimeter to dail in the value given to you by ATC. This will calibrate your altimeter to display the correct value for the current atmospheric pressure. QFE will display 0' on the ground QNH will display altitute (height above sea level)
  23. A simple question like how many legs on a dog will do the trick. Obvious to a human, pure carbage to a bot. When I implemented the same on my forum spam went down 99.9% immediatly.
  24. SPAM Huge influx of spam last couple of days. Think it's time for a humanizer test on the registration process. :(
  25. oh dear!! I'm reading a lot of these type of posts lately. As I own both the MFD and the Warthog I do not get a fuzzy warm feeling about TM at this stage of the game. Thankfully my hardware is holding up thus far. If something breaks though, shipping it back will be VERY expensive for me.
