  1. I can confirm this is happening exactly like OP stated. I didn't save my track, either. But considering I'm 0/1 and he's 0/2, you'll probably see the wingman off himself after HIS second pass heading north. Good stuff thus far, sir! ATD
  2. Suppose I'll start this saying that I'm a horrible pilot. I don't think I'm going to get much better over time, either. I shoot a few missiles at my guys on the right, they die. But ATTACK1 seems to always survive after the initial volley, and only comes running for ME. That's fine, I guess I'm not taking down the correct planes or something... but my wingman is doing NOTHING. I'm flying all around trying to avoid this guy, passing the two hornets doing the A2G, going all over the place, and my wingman is doing absolutely nothing other than to try and catch up on my wing. Is there any way you could tell him that he is totally allowed to shoot missiles at the enemy while is wingman is fighting for his life? This is my fourth try... actually fifth. I don't know if I have it in me to try again (immersion thoroughly broken). Waaaaahhh.
  3. I didn't know if I should make a new thread or resurrect this one. Considering it's been three years and through my humble observations the situation hasn't changed much, would it be possible to get an update? Has there been any released information or an attempt to mitigate the poor performance of the radar vs. rotary wing aircraft? I had two black sharks off my nose by about a half mile and slightly above me over water, and couldn't target them with the radar. They were moving left to right (probably around 80km/h). I just refuse to believe our fine Navy pilots couldn't light these commies on fire.
  4. EDIT UPDATE: Found em. I think they are technically NE of the given WPDSG point, which was throwing me off. Also, I know it goes against the designer's intent, but if you are struggling with this mission, just find the mortars and blow them up. The forces will retreat immediately and you can save yourself some time if you are struggling like I did with the Lebanon portion of the mission. ***This has been my favorite campaign to date for the FA-18! *** I guess I'm having an issue locating the GRAD trucks. The very first time I did the mission I was able to locate them, but I didn't understand the V pattern vs the straight pattern, and ended up shooting my wad at wingman's target (also because he barely made a dent). It wasn't until he said "They're gonna launch soon!" that I realized I needed to engage other trucks. I'll keep trying. Coming from an A10, I'm having a REALLY hard time with the FLIR visual location element of the FA-18. It's quite... squinty? Should I be employing ground radar instead? I believe he stated "Clearing west of the coords" but I'm at a loss. Also, I was wondering, is it possible to have your NPC wingman TARGET something but not engage it? Wouldn't it be amazing if you could have your wingman's target show up on your HMCS?
  5. Thanks so much for doing this mod! Considering the amount of time many of us have spent in the base FA-18 module, having something that depicts an upgrade of the plane is very satisfying. I do have some questions, though. 1) I can't seem to arm any rockets on this mod. What am I doing wrong? 2) I also can't seem to effectively arm 2x CBU-99s the way I could before. Also the method for arming the stations does confuse me a bit, so I try to arm from the inside out, if that makes any sense. Once again, I really appreciate the work that has gone into this mod. It's the ONLY mod I've ever downloaded (so far).
  6. I think what would fix this is Newt coming up and saying something vague, like "Boss I see someone getting on the roof of that middle building. Might be a -insert pilot jargon for shoulder fired missile-" maybe 20 seconds after the "proceed with swooping in until you're shot at" message. The problem being that you are being directed to do "shows of force" which (correct me if I'm wrong) is doing Maverick buzz the tower runs. I think there needs to be a cognitive bridge between the two, hence the proposed voiceover at that time. At least Newt could be good for.. something... My first attempt I actually ACTUALLY dodged it! I blew up the two trucks and strafed one line of troops that I can't see because I have a VR headset on (with Newt doing absolutely NOTHING for me by the way! Despite being told to do so) but on the way back I heard "I don't know about that A-10 pilot" on my way home. So I flipped the &#^% out, accidentally scared my dog with all the shouting and spittle... and restarted the mission. I am my own worst enemy. NINE more attempts. NINE. Being blown up by something I'm expecting created a mental block, and I couldn't shake the Igla even though I've done it a million times before. It wasn't until I treated the thing with super fast reaction time (like I was "surprised" akin to the first playthrough) that I was able to complete it. Before this mission, I was really optimistic that this campaign wouldn't be frustrating like the Baltic Dragon campaigns I've bought recently. Hopefully it's just this one, because frankly these missions have been a breath of fresh air comparatively.
  7. After enemy helicopters bug out (towards end of mission) I'm really low on gas... 2600 pounds. I notice that Texaco 7-1 is 35 mikes out and going 190 IAS round and round. Oh man, I think I can make it!!!! I get radio trigger after feet wet returning home that sure enough, that sweet drink is for me!!! Wait what? He was circling at 190, now he's going 380 AWAY FROM ME in a straight line?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?? Baltic... come on bro. Be honest... you enjoy the level of frustration you can induce. Just admit it. I think I'll like you more if you just come out with it.
  8. Sorry I just complained about this exact issue. So it's May 5th. Um. When do you think the next update is? Or did I miss it?
  9. Yes it just randomly ended. No mods, I run a clean boi. I re-attempted it and wasn't as careful as to "not be seen by the terrorists or passengers" which took a lot of time. Hurried through and it was fine. I think if you wait too long the jet flies too far from triggers or something and yeah... mission just straight up ceased to be. Brought me back to the campaign screen.
  10. I think I noticed this as well. EDIT: CONFIRMED ISSUE BELOW. Only read if you really have nothing to do. But I'm here for something different. Dr. Edge Case here, and also on Mission 10, ----- we're going along.... we hear a "Ravens.. Cut Left!" Go for a ways... see the mig-29 on radar but doesn't seem part of our storyline maybe?... cut right, FLY RIGHT INTO TWO SA-6s.... The SA-6s lock onto me and attempt to light me up like a christmas tree! I dodged every single missile for two full installations, but the &#*$ suckers in my flight just go bumpin along... nothing to see here... have fun with that! Actually, have fun with that and we're not even gonna FLINCH. SO BYEEEEEEs. I finally catch up to them after dodging 20 Mike Tysons... and flight lead just decides to go full Ben Stiller.. banging around an airbase. I'm trying to keep up, but he's being Mr Macho I can fly low and fast and crazy, so what?!?!? I Get a single bullet to the airframe and there you go... Attempt number two in the toilet. So uh, anyone got any advice on how to keep the story going right around the time we fly directly into two SA-6 launches? It's radio silent, so uh... don't know what to do.
  11. I know I'm not doing this as intended... but all I'm trying to do is enter the kneeboard coordinates into the waypoint, and no matter what I do after typing the first 6 digits and hitting enter... I get ERROR. I'm REALLY DUMB, and always find the edge cases of any premade scenario, but I feel like something isn't adding up. Per the comments above, maybe the written coordinates are wrong still? Been a couple years so I figured I would rez the dead. **2 minute update after initial post** So, there is no such thing as a "70" value in N34.01 70.95. That is what the problem appears to be. So I guess I'll just FLIR the target like a good little boy and not try and impress the teacher with my boy scout preparedness.
  12. Second try, I spent two hours on it. Marauder is finally turning to Beirut, we start sloping down.... End of mission.... 50 percent. Was I over a restricted area?!? Not saying it isn't my fault but... wow I haven't felt like that since I was 16. Maybe a radio message that I'm about to light a couple hours on fire?!?!
  13. You could've gave at least a hint. "Designer's Note # 4 - You gonna learn coordinate math today, son! It's not a bug, it's a &#$%ing feature!"
  14. Thank you for the step by step! I'll work on TMS right.. This stuff takes a bunch of reps to get right..... Since you brought up the shooting visually... I don't know if you use PCVR but in my situation, the HUD is super cluttered right around the TDC on the HUD, and it's so pixelated that theres really no chance of visually verifying. Maybe if I wove in the zoom at the same time? Maybe I can set up my voiceattack and get a screenshot of it, but it's quite difficult. Is there a convenient way to selectively drop everything but the TDC for a moment? Would be nice if it happened (almost) like the first stage trigger.
  15. I read through the topic... Really? This is intentional? I about threw my quest 3 across the room.
  16. Please try and make this feature!!! It's immersion-breaking to have to slowly exhale like I'm pulling a trigger to just click a cockpit button.
