Make sure the boat is heading into the wind... 15kts on the boat, 10 - 15 knots of wind.
-
Totally missed it... mainly because I was looking for "Dive Break"...... Thanks
-
We'll have to get on Discord and do some carrier landings in this thing. It's a beast if the mission doesn't have enough wind across the deck. I've hit the Island, the ramp, and just about everything else...
-
Whatever you do, make sure the carrier is in the wind and there is at least 20 to 25kts of wind over the deck. If you have to slow down too much on approach and line up, the plane will get very unstable. The higher the speed you can keep, the easier it is to handle.

Maybe it's just me, but no matter what map I load for the Corsair, I get no Tiny Tims on the arming screen. I have heard people say their Tiny Tims fire through their propellers. LOL, what Tiny Tims. Is it just my install that's messed up?. I did a complete, slow repair, and nothing happened.

Joy2key is good, I used to use it, but I like RSMapper better. I moved away from TARGET when I started mixing up my controllers, TM AVA/Hornet stick, Viper Panel, and TPRs. WW Super Taurus (legacy version) WW PTO2, BlackHog A, K51 trim box, Onyour12 Master Arm Panel. It sees your controllers better and shows you the switches and buttons on each controller. You get Push, release, and TEMPO commands and Chain Event programming. They call it sequence but it's Chain. I have seperate profiles for DCS birds, and a seperate "File" program for IL2 programming. Check it out, I'm sure you will like it better. No vjoy or hidhide required.

Whats up duder... good to see you on the forums again. now all we need is a TBF.... but the A-1D will work nicely too.....
-
I second that, it's annoying as all get out... and unrealistic as far as I'm concerned.

Usefull hardware / software links.

I ran across this Youtube video from Jayztwocents on nvidia drivers resizebar not being enabled even though it's enabled in your bios. And surprise it was not enabled in my latest nvidia driver either. I've not had a chance to see what it does in game yet, but I've got my LG C4 OLED 4k monitor set to 120hz, even though you can set it to 144hz. I usually get around 115fps on most DCS maps. I think it may help with the poor performance on the Marianas map. Give it a look and see where yours is set and try it out on your resource hog missions. -
Landing gear\dive break option keybind would be nice too. I've gotten to where I just don't use it when bombing anymore.
-
There is a lot more key-binds that do not work as well. Pretty much all of the armament switches on top of the front panel, except for the Master Arm switch can't be bound to a controller. I have even assigned keyboard assignments (1, 2, 3, 4, etc) to them and programmed them to a controller with RSMapper and they still don't work. This module is "VERY" early access. I just stopped trying to bind things and just use the mouse. It would be nice to have a keybind for the landing gear dive break option as well, that's a royal pain in the tookis to operate in the middle of a pull out and evasion maneuver. There is still a lot to be desired with this module. But I do like it....
-
Yep, I had to de-tune my breaks, they were too sensitive. They work as they should for me with TPRs.
-
Two hours, be sure.......

Just move the game to the new drive, leave saved games on the C/: drive. That is if you just added a new drive and didn't trash the original.
-
My birthday is Thursday, the 19th, it would make a nice self present. Come on Corsair...... I'm also waiting on the A-7E Corsair II...... in VA-94 colors....

I know in operations during WWII they avoided using radios during start up, taxi , and take offs, they used flares. But on the DCS WWII maps if you start to taxi after you start engines without permission the tower says, "Hey, what are you doing"... so the radios are needed. Ergo, you can't tell the tower you're inbound, or ask permission to land either. It's the small things they overlook that tend to be annoying for me.
-
Well, these are quick missions designed by the developers (Cold, dark engine start), so you would think they would have set the radios to work like they were intended to, so that you can call for engine start, taxi, and takeoff permissions. It's a royal pain to have to fix things that should not be broken to start with.
-
I can't get the tower to talk to me on WWII maps either. I go to the map and it tells me what frequency the tower is transmitting on, but there is no channel list for the in cockpit radio. I'll fly around the field and tell the tower "inbound", "request landing, and no response, on any channel. I guess I should go into the mission editor and see if the mission even has comms turned on. And on the cold start missions you can't get permission to start engine, taxi, or take off. I know I'm using the correct transmit function because it's all on Voice attack and works on missions with jets. It is what it is I reckon........

VAF Navy is opening recruitment, come and join today.

Are you going to do any USS Forestall, with F-14s and A-7Es when they come out? I have the Hornet, but I have not started learning it yet. I'm sweet on the Scooter right now. I was an Avionics Technician in the US Navy from 1977 to 1997, working on DECM gear, including the AN/ALR-45/45F/50/67 as well as the AN/ALQ-126 Alpha and Bravos. After I retired, I worked at Boeing's Avionics Repair Facility at NAS Lemoore from 1997 to 2021, repairing the APG-65 and APG-73 RADAR, as well as most of the FCES, FIRAMS, MSDRS, IFEI, UFC, and other systems, along with their control boxes. I hate messing with systems. LOL..... I will be getting the A-7E when it becomes available; I was in VA-94 for their 1986 and 1988 WESTPACs. Haze Grey and Underway..... the only way to go...... -
The LG OLED C4 evo 42" is a 144Hz-capable (mine is at 122Hz) G-SYNC, 4K monitor, which is beautiful once you get it all set up and calibrated. Some helpful videos on YouTube show you how to do it. The C5 is now available, and you can also get it in a 48" size. It's a 200x200 VESA mount. That's a SimFab monitor mount. They also offer a triple monitor stand, which is less expensive than the NLR version. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-42-class-c4-series-oled-evo-4k-uhd-smart-webos-tv-2024/6578050.p

Wow, not one picture of a VA-94 A-7.... I made the 86 and 88 WESTPACs with 94 and 22 on the Enterprise. VA-146 and VA-147 were on the Connie for my 78, 80, and 82 WESTPACKS. By the time I completed my last two of seven WESTPACs on the Lincoln, in 1993 and 1995, it was VFA-22 and VFA-94. I'm looking forward to flying the A-7 in DCS, and I would also like to see a good A-6E as well. SHWFOTS....

Get an external SSD, such as a WD 2TB SSD. I recently built a new computer for flight simulations, and I performed fresh installations of IL-2 and DCS. Then, I copied all the critical files from my old computer (DCS Saved Games) after updating them onto the external SSD and transferred them to the new installation. Worked like a champ. You may not need a 2TB external drive, but one large enough to transfer the files you need from the old computer to the new one. I'm still using the old gamer as my office computer, and the new rig is now part of a dedicated SimPit. The new rig has 5TB of storage, so hopefully I won't run out of space with IL-2 Korea and Combat Pilot installed. But I'll have that 2TB drive just in case. Cheers

Well, it's finally done, got everything ergonomically where it feels comfortable and right. Grace, my dog, seems to like it where it is. The new Office setup, no MTSIM nonsense to move around every time I need to use it, and I went wireless. The new SimPit sits just behind the office chair. they share the same cable modem. Now I have to redo all my aircraft profiles... Thanks for all your inputs for the monitor, the game looks fantastic on it, the youtube videos I found helped a lot to get it set up and running properly. Cheers Hoss

I know that in the old A-7E, A-6E, AV-8b, and F/A-18, you have a WRA called an Interference Blanker, which controls the duty cycles of all your RF equipment in the aircraft. It prohibits your equipment from stepping on each other's toes during their transmitting and receiving cycles. All of this happens in microseconds, so you would never know it's happening. Whether or not ED or any of the developers know how to implement this into the systems they model is unknown to me. But you should never respond to anything your aircraft is transmitting or receiving. Now, I don't know what the F-16 has in it to control the duty cycle of its RF equipment, so I can't say for certain how it would prevent itself from stepping on its own RF toes. Cheers
