If you downloaded it from DCS Files downloads you need to unpack it and look at the read-me file. That should tell you where to install it. If you don't have OVGME Mod manager you need to get it. https://youtu.be/DG01WM3fhHU?si=LyCiv02mYK79EGXn

I fixed the problem, I built a new system and when I installed my nvidia drivers I let install the Nvidia App. I'm not really used to running it. But I went in and looked at the two games I had installed and on the DCS file it said the game wasn't supported. So I did it manually and took it to the DCS main folder, and had it scan. Went back and hit the main bin .exe for DCS and the game loaded. So it was cranial rectimitus on my part for not paying attention to the message it had on the app page for DCS. I still don't understand why the MT .exe worked and not the main .exe..... nuckin futs..... Thanks for the reply. Hoss

My game crashes with the main bin exe, but starts with the mt.exe just fine. I'm not really sure how to post the log file but here it is. Any help would be appreciated. dcs.log-20250516-053728.zip

For some reason my game keeps crashing now with the updater exe. but will start with the MT exe. How on earth did that get screwed up. I did a repair and it still wants to crash with the normal icon. Ideas?

SimAppPro?.....

Holy Shiznit.... picked up my LG OLED evo C4 42" today. Used two of the YouTube videos I found and got it all set up. Got Nvidia settings dialed in for it and fired up DCS and it looked amazing. I'm sure I'll go back and fine tune colors and brightness, contrast, gamma.... I still need to figure out how to get desktop icons smaller, when they are set on windows to their smallest setting. I also need to adjust in-game font size too. Menu's are pretty small. The SimFab cockpit comes in Saturday, so the first thing I'll put together is the monitor stand. I've got everything set to run at 120hz, it has 144hz setting I have disabled for now. The game ran at 120hz, I haven't tried IL2 yet...

I went to Best Buy with the LG C4, which will arrive on Thursday. I've been watching YouTube videos on how to set it up and calibrate it for gaming. It looks promising, so I can't wait to get it up and running. When it arrives, I'll connect it to my gaming computer, start the calibration process, and mount it on the SimFab Monitor stand. They are based in Florida, and I'm in California.

I went to Best Buy, and they didn't have shiznit for large monitors except for LG and Samsung curved monitors. I found the LG OLED42C4 and looked at a Sony 42" Class BRAVIA XR A90K OLED 4K UHD, which had amazing colors. There were some good reviews on it playing Sims with Nvidia cards. But I can't determine if the Sony TV is G-SYNC compatible, like the LG is. So I'll go back tomorrow and decide on it. My SimFab cockpit should ship tomorrow. They had one Sony A90K left, and I'll have to get the LG from the warehouse in Fresno and pick it up in Visalia on Thursday.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm hitting Best Buy tomorrow to see what they have and go from there. I agree, I will probably have to go with a 4K monitor. I'll let y'all know what I went with. The Phillips and Asus monitors are out of stock..... no idea when they'll return. The KTC is available from Amazon at a decent price, and easily returnable, if not all it's cracked up to be.

It looks nice but it's a Vesa 200x300 mount. My stand is a 75x75 and 100x100 capable mounting. Bummer....

New Haptics seat from Razer will it over take the HF8?
_Hoss replied to rapid's topic in Input Devices
There's no cut-out for flight sim seat center joystick mounting. That rules it out for my setup. -
Looking for some input from you guys on any monitors you are using, 38" to 45". No ultra wides, or 4k's. Using Nvidia VGA so would prefer G-SYNC monitors. I'm looking to pick one up ASAP and would like to hear what you all have. My office, or old gaming setup monitor is an LG 32" Ultra Gear 144hz G-Sync monitor and works and looks great paired with a RTX 3080ti and an old i8700K. But I've got a SimFab LD monitor stand and DCS cockpit setup now and can mount a much larger monitor. My new system has a RTX 4070 VGA, paired with a i12700KF. If you can add a link with your suggestion it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help and suggestions.

I was in the Navy from 77-97 and we didn't fly S-2s then... Only E-2C Hawkeyes. Although we had one US-2 on the Connie when I was Ships Company on her 79-82. I never saw it moved from it's parking spot in Hanger Bay 1. You also forgot the helo base at Imperial Beach, south of Corando and the Amphib base on the Strand. When the A-7E comes out we need NAS Lemoore and NAS Fallon. The F-4s and F-14s can reenact TopGun with the F-5, and A-4s. While the A-7 hits the bombing range. VA-127 Cylons were the aggressor squadron then, they were at Lemoore for a bit after I got there and then went to Fallon. Nothing really went on down south except daily ops. After I PCS'd off the Connie I spent eleven years at NAS Lemoore, at AIMD (DECM Avionis), VA-94, and NAMTRAGRUDET (Instructor.. DECM gear). Nothing exciting went on there either. LOL..... The most excitement we had was the earthquake in Coalinga in 83, and the Air Force crashing an A-10 in the cotton fields.

I bolted mine onto two boxes (Walmart), which sit against the wall, so it doesn't move forward. It raised them a bit higher, making the ergonomics feel more natural. I have a flat board on top of the boxes, covered in slick plastic so my heels slide like they would sitting on the cockpit floor. That way, the instep of my feet is not sitting on the bottom bar, which hurts after a while, if I wear socks.

MCAS Miramar......
-
You would need NAS Fallon for Top Gun, and Strike U. MCAS Miramar is now mostly USMC. NAS North Island has the other USN aircraft. All the F/A-18s are at Lemoore, along with the F-35s.

You need one of these Trim Boxes for the Warbirds. 8 Axis' By K-51. He's on these forums.

You can remove the button panel from the original Super Taurus and screw it into the new Taurus throttle. There are two USB cables in the old version. Notice the two screws right behind the throttle module, there are two more in the front. The throttle chassis is narrower on the original than the stand alone new version.

On second command make it wait 75ms, third command 150ms, fourth command, 250 ms Key. Delay Duration O. 0ms. 75ms (500) Rctl + O. 75ms. (500) 75ms (500) Rctl + O. 150ms. (1000) 75ms (500) Rctl+Ralt + O. 250ms. (1500) 75ms. (500) I'm not sure why you have Rctl + O twice. I would use 500 to 1000ms for my durations (parentheses). A physical button push lasts at least a second, which is 1000ms. I use Event Tester from my TARGET install to test my macros to ensure I get a press and release on the command, and that they fall in sequence as programmed. Event timer example Press - O (time) Release - O (time) Press - Rctl (time) Press - O (time) Release - O (time) Release - Rctl (time)... etc.... With the timer, I get it correct before I go back and test it in-game; it's quicker and more efficient. I just looked at the keymapping for the Wing Fold operation on the Hornet, and your macro will not work; you are doing all the operations at once. You need a three-position switch for proper operation, or you can use a two-position switch and program forward motion as Fold and the rearward motion function for Spread. You never mentioned your HOTAS setup and available buttons. You can also use the TEMPO function (long press) if you have a three-way momentary switch. Or use your mouse for the function, it's quicker and easier since you only do the operation once before and after the flight. Save your switches for repeated tasks in flight. Good luck

LOL, the File tab has New, Open, and Import. You have to name your files there, under "New". I have the names of my files in Files: DCS Jets, DCS Props, and IL2 files. I hit the DCS Props, and it takes me to the P-47, P-51, Spitfire, and Mosquito profiles in the profiles tab, and my DCS Jets file takes me to the F/A-18, F-16, Mig-15, and F-86 profiles. These are for DCS; I have one file that says IL2, and it takes me to my IL2 profile. So start in Files, Select "New," and name it IL2 or DCS Props or DCS Jets, or any naming convention you want, and then go to "Profiles." You can name separate profiles in your "Profiles" tab: DCS, P-47, P-51, Mosquito, and Spitfire. Or DCS, F-86, F/A-18, A-10C, etc. Each time you open up RS Mapper, go to Files/Open (select your file), DCS Props, DCS Jets, IL2, and then you will see it in Profiles. Easy Peasy. I also have TARGET, and I use the Event Tester program to make sure what I have programmed actually works without going back into the game. i.e. Left Shift + Y press, Left Shift + Y release.. and macro type press releases.. LShf + Y, LAlt + T Press... LAlt +T, LShf + Y release..... Good Luck

You can't have Iraq without the Tornado and the Jaguar.... just saying...
