DCS: Black Shark - Dev Updates - 09 July 2008
SuperKungFu replied to Wags's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I'm just a bit curious on why ED chose to do this particular order: 1- A-10A Suite 2 2- A-10C Suite 3 3- AH-64A Blk. 49A 4- Su-27 5- F-15C 6- Mi-24V 7- F-16C 8- MiG-29A So basically, after black shark, then next one would be the A-10. Wouldn't this kinda offset the balance, half of the people online is riding around in an A-10 and the other half is in a black shark. If it was an Su-25, then I would understand since the frogfoot could provide support to the ka-50, but in this case, the A-10 would probably murder the helos. That being said, shouldn't the apache come out next? So it would be like a general helo game like EECH before the fast-movers come in. Don't get me wrong, I am very excited about this new development, I'm just a bit curious, that's all. lol, but since we are going out of order anyway, let the flanker come out next :D lol -
But what good would come from deleting all your post? That means none of your 400 + posts would exist. So when people go back to check on something, there would be a gap. some of your questions were answered in the past and would prove useful for future incomers. If you delete them, those same old questions might repeat over and over again. If you don't want to be a part of this forum anymore, that's fine, but no need to delete your entire history- that's just like being banned.

Video card recommendations?
SuperKungFu replied to Ironhand's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
yea I would avoid any of the 600 series. I meat like 7600, 8600, 9600...etc. Those are kinda like the "cheap" versions of each series. I currently have a 8600 GT, but my old 7900 GS performed better. -
Hope this clears up any confusing We know you have the original Lock On, which is 1.00 (you don't need to install any patch after that when you purchase FC) FC is version 1.1 You have two choices 1.) get the download version 2.) or the cd version (personally I prefer the cd version because I didn't want to deal with the activations that came with the download version, I just have to put in the cd once a week- of course, this is up to your preference) After you get FC, just simply install the latest patch 1.12a (or 1.12b if you are running on vista), and that's it So recap: 1.00 Original 1.1 Flaming Cliffs 1.12a patch

Also, this might interest you. If you haven't seen it already, here's a pic of the damage Ka-50 on the main DCS website
-
now that is beautiful.
-
The weird thing about lock on is that most of the texture files is in a square, like 512x512, or 1024x1024. The stock one was 1024x1024, but I wanted a higher res, so I went for 1600x1600. So its tricky to make this because once I make the menu screen, I then have to stretch it to fit the square, but in game is fine.
-
Well one of the main problems is contrast. What I mean is the main picture in the middle (the one with the 2 F-15E and planes exploding in the background). Although that picture looks great, when its in game, the words are in mint green, so its a bit hard to see it. Its best if that picture is dark, but I can't really find a suitable picture to put in there.
-
Well, I tweaked the main page just a little, although I'm still not satisfied with it, tell me what you think and how I should change it up. So far, this is for widescreens only. I'm still looking for some people to help change up the other menus as well, not only the main screen. Those boys that were working on the BSO sure knew how to do it.
-
sorry no I don't have that logo
-
yea i got the pic from airliners.net, I just added the lock on logo on it for the loadout.
-
very very nice Vyrtuoz. I'm downloading this now. You know what would really be cool in the future, instead of the small triangle with the tail as our aircraft, it actually shows us a small 3d object of our aircraft.
-
lol, isn't this picture from my loadout screen mod? It still has the lock on logo on it haha.
-
ouch, or ATC not doing their job.
-
it is wrong, it is not the berkut. But it does have the forward swept wings.
-
lol I'm actually doing a report about gasoline prices that's due tomorrow, unfortunately haven't started on that lol. But this would help, Thanks :D

Looking for new Joy...

IMHO X-52 vs X-52 pro, you mind as well go for the original X-52 and save the money for a trackir. Because there's not much difference between the two. I'm not sure what's the current price, but when it came out, it was a 100 dollars different, and I didn't see the need for the pro version. -
Show your Flight set up :D

Mines not so impressive, but at least its mobile. :D I can play Lock On anywhere I go. -
At first I was an IE user, then I realized FireFox is hell of a lot better. Plus that one Russian bird is called FireFox, even though it doesn't really exist lol. So it is our duty as aviation jocks to pick the things that resembles a plane the most.

DCS: Black Shark - Q&A **READ FIRST!**
SuperKungFu replied to EvilBivol-1's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
The new static object around the airbase, will those be collide-able now? Or can we simply go through them like in lock on.
