  1. 104th Phoenix Proudly Presents Operation Longbow A dynamic Multiplayer Mission set in the Caucasus Map. www.104thphoenix.com Featuring 6 Airbases to capture and hold in the battle-zone. Ability to recapture lost bases. Spawnable aircraft at newly captured airbases. Airbase Defence Upgrade rewards using heavy transport aircraft. Simple Radio. Helicopter Transport Operations using CTLD. AWACS. Aerial Refuelling. Locked GCI slots that are open for sign up. AFAC. JTAC. Anti-Ship Missions. (W.I.P) Deep Strike Missions. (W.I.P) Weapon Restrictions Introduction Operation Longbow is a large scale dynamic multiplayer mission that allows clients to capture any airfield in the Battle Area, clients can then spawn in aircraft from their newly captured bases. Starting at opposite ends of the map, both coalitions are aiming to capture all ten airbases within the Battle Area located along the Black Sea Coastline while preventing their opponent from doing the same. The Target Airbases are Kutaisi, Senaki, Kobuleti, Sukhumi, Gudauta, Sochi Min Vody, Nalchik, Mozdok and Beslan (Click the links for more info on coalition ground unit positions at the start of each round!) All ten Target Airbases are NEUTRAL the start of the mission however ground forces from each side are locked in a stand-off against each other at opposing sides of the airfields. Click on the links above in red to see the approximate location of each coalitions units. The victor is the first side to successfully deploy troops on all ten Target Airbases after eliminating the enemy guarding the position. Inter asset cooperation is key as airbases can only be captured by the landing of ground troops by a friendly Helicopter. Each coalition will require transport helicopter pilots standing by to land troops on the target airbases once the enemy has been cleared. Helicopter pilots will also be required to deploy JTACS, MANPAD Teams and EWR Systems to the front lines! Communications SRS Server IP - 208.94.240.34:5002 Simple Radio (SRS) is to be used as the primary mission communications tool while in the server, however we request that clients also use the 104th Teamspeak server for mission planning and networking purposes. Any client using a GCI slot MUST be on the 104th Teamspeak server. TS3 Server IP - ts50.gameservers.com:9132 - Password = phoenix We have set up a HELP CHANNEL to assist users in the set up of SRS on our Teamspeak server. The channel is called "Help setting up Simple Radio" and it's channel description has a step by step guide of how to install and set up SRS for use on the 104th. Coalitions The mission features an East vs West set up and is based on a fictional scenario that involves NATO Allies taking on Russia, Iran and China (Taiwan). NATO Pact USA, UK, Sweden Fighters:F-15C Strikers: A-10A, A-10C, AJS-37, AV-8B Helicopters: UH-1H, SA-342 Gazelle Russian Pact Russia, Iran, Republic of China (Taiwan) Fighters: F-5E, Mig-21, Mig-29A, Mig-29S, Mirage 2000, SU-27, SU-33 Strikers: SU-25A, SU-25T Helicopters: Mi-8, KA-50 Fighter Control Operators Fighter Control services will be available to clients through the use of LotATC. To sign up to become a 104th Server Fighter Controller you need to post an application HERE LotATC is now the only tool for Fighter Control, Combined Arms is no longer available on the server. Airbase Assault Batteries Each coalition has Assault Batteries for each Target Airbase. At the start of the round both coalitions have an Assault Battery at EACH airbase! To capture an airbase you must eliminate the enemy Assault Battery and then land friendly troops on the airfield. Once this has been complete the friendly Airbase Assault Battery will move on to the airfield to protect it! Red Assault Battery 8x T-90, 8x BMP3, 2x SA-15, 4x SA-13, 4x Shilka AAA Blue Assault Battery 5x M1A1, 6x IFV, 1x Roland ADS, 4x Chaparel, 4x Vulcan AAA Airbase Defence Upgrades Once a coalition captures an airfield a heavy transport aircraft will be despatched with an Airbase Defence Upgrade package. The package will arrive in two stages. First is the Surface to Air Missile system followed by an Early Warning Radar system brought in on another aircraft after the first has safely landed. If a coalition looses their first transport aircraft with the SAM package to the enemy a second aircraft will be despatched with another SAM system to try again. In this scenario the EWR system would NOT follow if the second aircraft makes it safely. A coalition only receives the EWR upgrade if the FIRST transport aircraft makes it safely to the airbase! Red Airbase Defence Upgrade Package SA-11 & EWR Blue Airbase Defence Upgrade Package Hawk & EWR Helicopter Operations Helicopter pilots are the key to a coalitions success in the mission. Transport pilots are required to land friendly troops on to the Target Airbases once the enemy troops have been cleared. Once the pilot has offloaded his troops the airbase will be secured for his coalition. FARPS can also be captured along with airbases. See the below pictures for FARP locations and details. FARPS in YELLOW are capturable by the enemy! FARPS in BLACK are not capturable. To rearm your helicopter you must fly over and land on the helipad then make your request to the ground crew! Cargo loading is done through the fantastic CTLD script by Ciribob in the RADIO MENU. All troops and crates are loaded when at a friendly FARP, loading crates and troops will NOT work at an airbase. You must consult the map and fly to your nearest FARP to pickup cargo. Once you have troops on board you can drop them when it is safe to do so at the target airbase and it will be secured for your coalition. DESPITE WHAT THE IN GAME MESSAGES SAYS, IT ONLY TAKES 3 SMALL CRATES TO BUILD A FOB, NOT 9 SMALL CRATES! Air to Air Weapon Restrictions The AIM120C AMRAAM is now available. Getting Started and Useful Information. We are running Ciribob's excellent slot blocking script on the server. Available here This means you cannot spawn at any airbase or FARP that your coalition does not control. Aircraft at home bases start with the Number 1, eg "1 Tbilisi F-15C A1" aircraft at Capturable bases start with the Number 2, eg "2B Kutaisi F-15C A1". If your coalition has not captured any bases in the mission you will only be able to spawn at a Home Base and select aircraft starting with 1. Once your coalition has cleared the enemy troops from a base then captured it you can spawn in at that airbase by selecting the aircraft based there in the aircraft list. FARP Phoenix activates for the BLUE side when KUTAISI has been captured and secured! FARP Gali starts as a RED FARP at the start of the mission however RED cannot spawn there until they capture SUKHUMI! All fixed wing aircraft start with 0% fuel at all capturable bases. Fixed wing aircraft starting at Home Bases load with 100% fuel. USE THE F-10 MAP We do not have a website with a live mission map, clients must use the F-10 map to see what airbases belong to which coalition. Press F-10 and click on the airbase you want the status of and it will tell you if it is RED, BLUE or NEUTRAL. You can only spawn on an airbase that belongs to your coalition AND has had the enemy cleared from around it!
  2. Server is currently hosting on 1.5.8.12823.414
  3. 104th Simple Radio Frequency Chart Please save the above chart for future reference when flying on the 104th Server. We will be making a big push this year to get more people on board Simple Radio while flying with us so don't get left behind. We have set up a teamspeak channel to help anyone struggling with getting SRS Setup. It is located below our Help Desk Channel and is called Setting Up Simple Radio. The channel description has a full breakdown of how to install and configure the radio for use with the 104th.
  4. We lowered it again to 250 as Oceandar pointed out to test out server stability and its been positive in terms of lowering server crashes. We are going to test it out for a further week or so before making a commitment to keeping it or going back above 250. Sorry to anyone who is missing the cut, we have to think of the majority of clients who are below 250. I know its not fair on people above 250 however its also not fair on users below 250 who have to endure server crashes because of someone's poor connection. We know 100% that not everyone with a ping of above 250 has a bad connection but for now its a good number for us to stick with to ensure only clients with solid traffic hops to our server are connected.

  6. Nothing will ever rival BF Round 5! Hands down the best fun I've ever had in DCS, it felt like everyone in the community was taking part. Great days, sadly missed! :joystick:
  7. We run 8 missions, 2 of them are East vs West with separated aircraft sides, NATO vs Russia. Lots of people can cope with the challenge of having both sets of aircraft on each side and have fun fighting against the same aircraft, this is why we have aircraft on both sides in most of our missions and have done so for over 10 years in hosting to the community.
  8. Pretty sure the A-10C has auto start sir. Open your Options and go to Controls and look in the CHEAT section. It may be bound to something different on your setup.
  9. If I can kill fast jets in a Gazelle without radar and still IFF then you can do it in an F5. We also regularly fly CAP missions in the Harrier despite it not having a radar. Shoot first ask questions later is not acceptable. Ask on the radio, Ask in game chat, Ask the GCI, Keep track on the game chat to see who is killing who and with what, If you see someone in front of you get shot down and the message says "Enemy F-15 shot Friendly Mirage with Aim120" and you can see the F-15 still alive... shoot him! If you see someone in front of you get shot down and the message says "Friendly F-15 shot Enemy Mirage with Aim120" and you can see the F-15 still alive... you know its a friendly! What ever you have to do, just start working a bit harder to IFF. Not having a radar is no excuse, its perfectly possible.... it's just not as easy. And yes, there are going to be times when you are trying to IFF without radar and then the bandit gets in a position to shoot and then targets you. This is part and parcel of the deal and the price you pay for operating in contested airspace without a radar or CAP to protect you. This year we are going to be taking a much tougher stance on teamkilling from all platforms Air to Air and Air to Ground on clients and AI units. Gradually we hope to grow a policy of ask first shoot second in the server so people are not so casual about firing off a weapon. Although not implemented now, in future we are aiming to have a system in place that will time out a client for 5-15 mins for any teamkill on a client or AI. Accidents happen so these clients will be allowed to rejoin the server however persistent teamkillers will be removed and will have to appeal through the forums to be unbanned. We hope this will lead to more caution on everyone's part when pressing that trigger.
  10. No .... you turn your radar ON and IFF before firing any weapon... repeated teamkilling through the lack of IFF will get you banned.
  11. Ok, I will take a look in to this, sorry.
  12. If you got kicked you should be able to rejoin straight away. You can only not re-enter if you get banned.
  13. Aircraft skins for the event Blue Red Overview
  14. We are running a stability test this weekend with a new PING LIMIT of 280. We apologies to anyone who is left out because of this, it will just be for a few days while we evaluate performance. Low key..... Player Exports are now turned ON.
  15. Join our Teamspeak server mate and enter the Help Desk channel
  16. Just here :) Feel free to prop that ganda anytime! There will be two teams, teamkilling is NOT allowed so aircraft skins will be unique for each side and will be discussed at the event briefing. @Alpen Lots of us will be streaming mate, you can take your pick :)
  17. Wow Ciri thanks mate! We will take a look at that today and get it worked out and see if we can get it working. @Apo, yes we will get some common freqs set up this weekend in the hope it helps!
  18. Hi mate! Yeah that takes not only a bit of practice but a bit of getting used to. Its still a little bit of a trip for me to do. The problem is what your eyes are seeing, you know you're moving, everything is telling you that but that big fat ship in front of you is not moving from your perspective once you are abeam the LS and have matched the ships speed. When I drift right, I try to stay mainly focused on the Horizon and the HUD and consciously monitor my lateral position with peripheral vision, so my focus is always forward mostly watching my height. I'm still playing around with my curves at the moment I'm using 15 but it's all down to your joystick. I would 100% recommend adding something to your curve, start at 10 on all 3 axis and see how you go. You can also landing using the early cross technique which is good practice. Basically its the same as I showed in the video except you start coming right once you cross the 45 degree line from the Primary Landing Spot while still having some forward momentum. This is a good way to get the line up practice with the tram line but adds in some new challenges at the same time but its very enjoyable!
  19. Yes please, we have no issue at all with you providing GCI on SRS however you MUST be on our Teamspeak server to be contactable by an admin if we need you.
  20. We are testing GCI on the server tonight in Operation Fireshield using Combined Arms. God mode is OFF, please report any issues you see here so we can work out if we can roll it out across all our missions or not. YOU MUST BE ON THE 104TH TEAMSPEAK SERVER TO USE THE GCI FORWARD OBSERVER SLOTS. YOU WILL BE KICKED WITHOUT WARNING FOR USING THE SLOT AND NOT BEING ON TS
  21. Congratualtions to everyone! Massive thanks to HEATBLUR for their support on this event, looking forward to working closely with you guys more in 2018. See you all in the next round!
  22. I made a video in the hope of helping the guys struggling with the brakes on the ship, hope it helps!
