  1. Holy cow! For the life of me I cannot remember where in the settings to turn off that insanely annoying Pilot take off and landing position is. I hate trying to land with that on. Can anyone remind me of where in the settings it is? Thx!!!!
  2. LOL........We've been through many trial separations. I've cut her out of my will a few times. But I always come back because when it's good, it's really good.
  3. Ok, so I'm seriously thinking about to park my DCS for a time and see if ED can find a solution, I'm getting super tired and frustrated, and with no more ideas and things to test in order to be able to play comfortably. Hundreds of euros invested for this!! very Nice. This has been my relationship with E.D. for 15 years................
  4. OK guys......I think that I found a 90% solution for my particular stuttering problem. Please keep in mind that this may not and in all probability will not work for everyone. Last year I had to order a new Track IR. I ordered what I thought was a Natural Point system as it was advertised as such and the Ebay post showed the plastic bubble pack Track IR system. When it arrived it was in one of those little white boxes, not the bubble packaging. I knew that I had been the victim of a bait and switch. These guys were selling the cheapo Chinese knockoffs as natural point head tracking. I got a full refund on the tracking system from Ebay and did not have to return the product. So....I used it instead. Well......Last week it up and completely died on me. This time I ordered the real deal. It came this morning. I hooked it up to my rig, fired up DCS, the micro stuttering has completely stopped. But....I also had been dealing with issues with 2-3 second stutters every minute or so. It still happens but not nearly as much. It has been cut in half now. So there are longer stutters still, but not nearly as severe as they were and not nearly as frequent. I can't tell you why or how. I can only tell you what I'm experiencing. So if you are using head tracking and it's an El-cheapo or home made one (I have used those too) it may be part of the problem. This tells me that there is something to the idea that ED is having issues with Track IR. The cheapo setup worked well with all other flight sims until it completely died last week. With DCS, I had everything turned down to low res. and still had the stutters. With the new Natural Point hardware, I have my DCS settings back up to mid and high and the stuttering is pretty minimal now. I still believe that this issue is partly due to something E.D. is or isn't doing, but if you have the better head tracking stuff, it seems to make a difference. It did for me. Food for thought guys.
  5. "agreed, but careful. DCS moderators are very protective and will sting you." DCS will not punish people who aren't being rude about their problems or are telling the truth. I guess that I should clarify my relationship with DCS and E.D. I have been here since the very first days of "Blackshark". I remember purchasing the disc at Best Buy a loooong time ago. I remember being instantly (insanely) frustrated and hopelessly hooked at the same time. My frustration wasn't with the software or how it worked. My frustration was with the complexity and needs of the game itself. I had no rudder pedals, a simple Logitech stick, no headtracking stuff, and a keyboard only. No HOTAS or external control surfaces other then my $39.00 Joystick. My graphics card was a stock chipset that came with my Dell PC that was a stock, home use system. As I progressed into DCS over time I started purchasing all of the hardware, video cards, and Track IR (no VR in them days). All of this was very expensive stuff. All told, I have invested thousands into simming. Much of that money was initially because I flew DCS. Over the years I purchased pretty much every module that came out. Some of them I have only flown once or twice in all of the years that I have had them. Some maps, I have never really flown extensively. I wanted to support the cause. So I have invested enough time and money into this sim that it gets very frustrating when things are not going well. Unfortunately, that scenario plays our more often than not these days. The same issues have always been kind of a nuisance from the earliest days (nature of the beast). But it wasn't so bad that you just wanted to quit. Now a days, It's much worse than the beginning. Keep in mind that I have a pretty beefy gaming computer now. It will run much more demanding sims than this one. It will even seamlessly run the monster sim that loves to eat memory. We all know the one I'm talking about. A year or two ago I stopped purchasing from E.D. Between the lost promises of several purchases and the way that it struggles on my system to play well enough for me to enjoy it, I just realized that I was putting my money into something that I wasn't enjoying so much any more. It kind of made me angry with E.D. to be honest. But I haven't stopped buying stuff for the purpose of punishing anyone, I stopped because the return on my investment had shrunk considerably and I wasn't getting out of DCS what I felt that I was putting into DCS. To be fair, I did pre-purchase the F-4 a few days ago. The first thing I have bought from DCS in a long time. I love DCS / I hate DCS. I want to enjoy this big sandbox, but on my computer, and in my view, it's not the same as it use to be. I recon that I will probably always fly DCS and enjoy it whenever it's possible. But there are times that I have to just remove it from my system and fly other simulators. I also removed the other sim I had mentioned earlier. For similar reasons. But I am 2 versions behind on the other sim and have no plans to buy any new iterations of it. The difference is that I always come back to DCS because I really like it and would love to enjoy it again. Venting about it and seeing others who suffer the same issues really helps. But please understand, I do like DCS. I like cooking too. When I burn myself or slice my finger with a sharp knife while doing it. I yell, curse, and move on. If a dish that I make taste bad, I simply stop making it.
  6. "I think with many things in DCS you do have to make your own fun, if you are not having fun try something else, that is the beauty of DCS, its a sandbox for whatever you want to do." This statement pretty much sums up the way I look at DCS.
  7. "We need to wait for ED to fix the issue." <<<< THIS I have been offered every solution that is mentioned here on this thread, been told that it's a hardware issue with my Track IR, been told that it's my system (when I know that it's absolutely not because I run 2 other sims that are very heavy on any rig and neither of them have the issue, been told that it's MODs that I'm using when I have never used any mods in D.C.S. , And I've been told that it's E.D.'s problem. Having done everything possible to cure it. Yet still it persists in DCS after following every lead given.....It's an E.D. thing. Again, shelving DCS for however long until they come to terms with their own product. DCS spends more time dormant on my computer than any other software that I have ever owned because of constant technical problems or issues. And they wonder why I refuse to give them any more money.........
  8. "If you can't be bothered to take these steps, that's fine. Just let us know and we'll stop investing any more time." <<<<<<<<<< THIS LOL....I thought that I made the pretty clear in my las post..........Thanks but I will solve this on my own.
  9. I don't think that you understand. I am just plopping an A10 down on the ramp with Mavs and the TGP on the wings. There is no other mission attached to this. The DCS I am using is a fresh install. There are no mods, saved missions, or anything. I am pretty much opening it for the first time. So far as I know, there is no issue with my install as it is brand new. I have been with DCS for 20 years so I know all of it's ins and outs. What I am saying is that I can set up on the ramp with say......6 rocket pods full of rockets that I loaded in the ME before the mission. I get into the mission, the rocket pods are in my DSMS. Bombs, rockets, TGP, whatever. They'll all be there when I set up my DSMS. But......Not Mavs. whenever I load them in, there is nothing. Just the red boxes where they're suppose to be in the DSMS. I never use mods in any install. I never change file names or alter my file configuration. No worries....I will figure it out. Every time you rearm your aircraft, you have to re-load the DSMS page, even in the A10C2. Have you done that? Yes.
  10. " Funny thing is that the axis input shows normal. It is just the reaction of the plane is weird." Exactly!
  11. I remember that issue well and it's similar only my MAVs do this with the initial loadout. There is no specific mission. I am starting at Nellis so the availability isn't an issue. I'm loading before the actual mission starts anyway so I don't believe that would be a factor at all. I'm just loading DCS back on to my computer and I'm setting up my HOTAS controls. I just set up a mission where I start from the ramp with the essential armament to get everything organized and set up. So it really doesn't matter what the mission is. The MAVs just don't make it to the loadout.
  12. Anyone know what I could be doing wrong? I set up my plane in the loadout page in the ME and whenever I select Mavs for loadout, they don't seem to make it to the DSMS. When I go to turn them on and set them up, there's just red rectangles on their loadout positions. I remember this issue from a while back when it would happen after you landed and reloaded. But that was with the older A10-C. I am pretty sure that it's something on my end that I am not doing correctly. I am relatively new to the A10 C II but don't recall having this issue when I was flying it last year. Oh....Yeah.......I haven't flown DCS in a while so it absolutely could be something on my end. Thx
  13. I haven't flown the Spitfire in probably a year or more. Yesterday I took a flight in it and wow!!!! The rudder is just insane crazy overly implemented. I've gone to 40% saturation and still it sends the slip scale into a frenzy and the plane rocks like crazy. I read someone saying that they have theirs at 70%........I have to believe that this is something on DCS's end. It didn't seem that crazy before at all. Now....I'm doing this on a brand new install so that is most likely not the issue in my case.
  14. No E.D. , none of the responses solved my issue since it seems to be something that you guys did, and I have to wait for you to undo. So rather than hold my breath, I will shelve DCS for yet another year or so while I go fly other simulators that actually work most of the time. It seems that I spend more time undoing D.C.S.'s problems than I do flying it. It's the most infuriating thing about this sim. See you guys in a year or so............
  15. Yeah....I believe that it does happen while in the main menu. Not sure but I kinda think that it does. I'll check into that and get back to you. I thought that it was the Track IR so I messed with the G, V-sync and all that but no fix. And my rig is around 2 years old so I'm not sure what Gen my CPU is. I'll have to look into that issue. Thx!
  16. Does anyone else have this issue: About every 6 seconds or so there is a 1 to 5 second stutter. Sometimes it's just a short stutter, sometimes it can go on for up to 5 seconds. Everything just pauses and then continues as if the pause never happened. It's not like a normal stutter, everything pauses and takes up exactly where it stopped as opposed to the game catching up to where it would be in a normal stutter. It doesn't matter what map, what plane, what video settings. This has never been an issue before for me and does not occur on other,( more memory consuming) flight sims. I'm pretty sure that it's not in my rig somewhere. I have been with DCS since Blackshark so I know it's ins and outs. I have done pretty much everything that I know to solve this. And yes, I did a DCS repair, updated Windows, Nvidia....Yadda yadda......I have given my system specs here before many times and know that it's not the issue. Any ideas??? Thanks so much.
  17. Remember the Hawk debacle??? If you don't look it up. The assets pack is ED's Hawk.
  18. LOL.....I gave up asking about the assets pack long ago. I don't even use any of it's content. Was the biggest waste of money for me. WWII was the only reason I came back to ED many years ago when the P-51 came out. I think it's been 2 years since I have even looked at it or used anything from it. It's also one of the reasons why my wallet closed to ED. If you can't keep promises....Don't make promises. Yeah yeah....They need to make money and all of that. But if I make a promise, I keep it even if I have to sacrifice. TRUST!
  19. In general, the assets pack was a huge waste of money to me. It's just garbage. And in view of recent world events, I am tossing DCS. As far as I am concerned, anything out of Russia can go <profanity> itself! PERIOD!!!!! You people should be ashamed of yourselves letting this keep going on. Some of us know that things are bigger than us, our entertainment and caring whether people want us in their circle. Until you people start pushing back against your Piece of <profanity> leader, I'm out.....PERIOD! It's the right thing to do.
  20. All I want is for ED to just give me what was promised all of those years ago. If they'd just deliver the complete product, that would be fine with me.
  21. Woah.......Thank you so much for this elaborate explanation. I certainly appreciate it very much. You explained a lot to me and I have a better understanding now. Although I may never use CA, I at least have learned that most of my issues are with the ME. I will go over all of this stuff in the ME and maybe I can create more elaborate missions to fool around with. Again: Thanks a million!!!
  22. Ahhh...So CA is only for "in game" use? And if I am understanding you guys correctly, it's pretty much the ME and it's AI that are the real issue. Informative........Thanks guys.
  23. I have owned CA now for it's entire existence. When I purchased I thought that I understood what I was purchasing but over the years I have long since abandoned ever using it. I think that I have been under a misconception about it. I would like to clarify this and better understand if it is CA that's causing my woes of mission creation or if the fault lies in bugs with the ME and have nothing to do with CA itself. So I would like to ask a few question about creating mission and the role that CA plays in that, if any under (lets say)minimal conditions. I have only attempted to create very simple scenarios but things go terribly wrong from the very first placement, tack, order, or whatever. At the present, I find CA to be counter intuitive, lacking in usability, and it does not perform assigned tasks with any accuracy whatsoever. I have yet to create even the simplest of missions that actually work. So if anyone could please indulge me on this and answer a few questions: The first question is pretty cut and dry. Can I create missions where I use triggers, set parameters for planes, tanks, or other vehicles to follow using only the ME? 2. If I go into the ME and place 4, B-17's to take off from an airfield, Set up waypoints from the runway to an objective target area, and then order them to fly back to the base. Say I set the cruising altitude to be 20,000 ft. So I increase the altitude of the formation at different waypoints to get them up to 20,000 feet without them going pretty much straight up to 20,000 at insanely slow speed. None of this matters however as they never fly by my orders. I find them at 6000 feet, or 10,000 feet but never at the 20,000 I set. The same goes for their air speed or any other parameters I set. They just won't follow. Is this the ME or CA? 3. I set troops on the ground. I set them to move to stratigic areas on the map. They stop at every obstacle. They get hung up and in most cases, never get to their destination. Lots of times they don't go anywhere. Is this CA, or the ME? I guess that I am not sure where the ME comes in and where CA ends. I have no idea where the line is. My assumption would be that CA is for complex, on the fly commanding while CA sets up the basic placement and conditions of a mission. But if this is the case, if the ME doesn't work right, would that not make CA pretty useless? I want to like CA and not have grievances, but the truth is that I cannot set up simple missions because either CA, or the ME doesn't work right. I guess that I should mention that there was a time (around when the Huey came out) that I could set up simple recon, or Dust off type mission where I would go out and evac soldiers while under fire and such. It seems like it all went down the tubes when the embark feature quit working all those years ago, shortly after and is sometimes working, and sometimes not. Since then it has always been touch and go as to what worked and what did not. I am willing to bet that there are others who have this same problem. Not really knowing the differences between CA and ME. Thanks!
  24. Here's some advice from a person who has been using DCS for 20 years. ED is long on promises but short on delivery pretty much about 50% of the time. I would never prepay for anything here. Been there....Done that. You never know what the end product will be. You won't know if they will leave systems promised, or deal breaking bugs to hang on year after year from your purchase date. You will watch your pre purchased module go ignored for years while ED is coming out with more and more unfinished stuff. It can be pretty infuriating. This is a sad but true reality when it comes to dealing with ED. When I was still buying stuff from ED, toward the end I would let a module be released, see if the complaints, bugs, and promises were dealt with by ED, and then decide if it was worth the aggravation to deal with all of those things. I never thought of how exciting the module was. I just got to the point of asking myself if it were worth the hassle of waiting for things that in many cases, would never come.
  25. "I can't speak about being here long enough to have pre order it, but I would argue that CA does pretty much everything the label says it can under the current version. But isn't the fuss about looking forward instead of back when it was released?" 99% of the forum complaints and my personal experience prove your OPINION wrong. CA does not now, nor has it ever worked correctly. It has been a thorn in the side of those who had any hopes at all for it from day 1. If you don't agree, please present some kind of proof of it. Never ending complaint threads and my CA that does nothing more than place stuff on the ground for target practice is more than enough to drive my point home. If you have designed functional missions using only CA and nothing else that you didn't have to Alter LUA files and rig from here to eternity, I would certainly like to try them.
