For the wish list: reading through the forums the developers and testers say that real A-10 pilots don't carry more than two Mavericks because at launch they can damage the tires and the TGP. So carrying 6 Mavs as we do in the sim is out of question. Then, there could be an option on the difficult settings where you could turn on or off the damage cause by a Maverick launch. With this option "on" you could carry as any Mavs as you wanted, however at launch they would also cause damage. Something like "rifle" and then seeing your Master Caution panel going off crazy. So, in this way, players would be forced to play it as real pilots: 2 Mavs, but lots of CBU's to compensate... And with this option "off", everything stands as it is now. It would add to realism.

Ei, outro brasileiro??? Congrats on the vids! Very well done! Crazyest skins too!

A-ha! Time to fix it then mate! LOL. When the patch comes out :D then broadcasting my SPI to another player would do the trick? Thanks you all for your answers. It's a FAC not a JTAC..ooopsss...

+1. It really is missing in the game.

My wish list is very simple, really. Matt Wagner talked about a A-10 Upgrade Pack in his interview for VE3D. Whatever that means, I just hope that an OA-10 JTAC aircraft to be modeled. But instead of a AI controlled aircraft, YOU being the JTAC. Armed with the TGP, loads of WP and IR rockets. They are there, modeled, ready to be used. This would be the greatest thing for Multiplayer. A guy comes in and checks in, you have to take note of what he is carrying. Then you would designate his target, get the coordinates right (the TAD and the CDU are very powerful tools already available) and in some way you assemble a 9-line-briefing and send it to another player. Or just forget about this, you read it to the guy and he reads back to you. And then YOU send a message via Data Link. The way it could be assembled is by a menu similar to the radio menu we already have. And, for the grand finale, you could designate the targets for him, by rockets or by IR or by Laser. I don't know if something similar has been already done in Lock-On. I had this idea when I was reading some posts about UTM/MM coordinates and how people get entagled in them. I thought that if by being a JTAC someone would put that knowledge to good use. Actually, what would be really cool is if you could be the JTAC on the ground, in a HMMWV, armed with a GPS and a laser designator. But that would be in the realm of something close to ArmaII; don't believe that ED would take the time to model something like this.

Independently if you are using easy comms or real comms, check your frequency to the wingie. It is the radio in the middle (the UHF radio) and the frequency is usually set at 251.00 MHz. But you gotta check in the mission briefing first.

Thats ' good tip. Real pilots do that, heck, real military personnel do that to find their bearings. Also, a good thing to do with attack directions, and adding up to realism, is sending our buddy "Joe" (i.e. Wingman) to attack from one direction while you do an attack from another. This way you can try to confuse enemy air defenses and letting the enemy guessing from where the next rain of lead will come from.

In the game the max that you get is a message that will appear on the lower right corner of the MFCD. It says something as "EO Timeout". The only thing yiou havre to do is to press the ACK button next to it. In RL that would be a warning of the time limit for the Mavs. In the game, it doesn't do anything. However, if you want to keep with your dose of realism, you can turn the Mavs off.

Scottish English... Formal English... :helpsmilie:LOL.

I think you misunderstood my post. CH Forward and Aft are the Wide and Narrow Field of Views. What I wanted to say is that besides this, with DMS Forward and Aft he can zoom in and zoom out to better see the targets with the TGP.

Hats off for the Moscow team! Hurrayyy!!!

Using Marks to prosecute multiple targets in one pass.
RodBorza replied to Dropbear's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Dropbear, Also take note that each selected mark point will be the SPI. If you change from Mark A to Mark B, then this one will be the newest SPI. And so on. Look on the previous post to see how the sequence works. -

Yes, you are doing some steps that are not necessary. From what I understand from your post, you've already found and marked all the targets with the TGP. Now you have all the targets stored in the memory. Let's say you have Marks A, B, and C. Then, you have to change the CDU from NAV to MARK. :smartass: Follwing this, you'll see that the system automatically makes the selected mark point as the SPI. If you change the mark point, you'll see that the next one will be the SPI. Very nice feature that saves a lot of time! So, the sequence should be: 1. Set HUD as SOI. 1.1. Choose next mark 2. Slave all to SPI (CHF Long). 3. Select Mav Page as SOI 4. Lock 5. Fire Rinse and repeat as needed. Also, if i'm not mistaken, you can skip another step by not choosing HUD as SOI. Just changing the Mark points with the rocker button should do the trick. :music_whistling: -
As far I'm concerned... A F-15E sim would be VERY welcomed.

Disregard this if you already know it, but besides the Wide and narrow field of view with China Hat Forward Short, you can really zoom in with DMS forward and aft. Reading through your posts it seems that you were having difficulties to defeat targets because you were getting too close to identify them, but the TGP has enough zoom power so you won't need to get too close. From 10-15 nm you can zoom in with the TGP, make the target your SPI, slave all and then change for MAVs. Of course, with MAVs you'll only see the little dots, but it doesn't really mater since you know what you are looking at because of the view you had with the TGP. As Excessive Headspace put it: "the TGP is the most valuable weapon inthe game...Although it really is not a weapon..."

+1! It's been only a week since the release of the game. Right now ED is taking note of what is happening on the A-10 Problems forums. I believe that a patch will come along, but it will take a little longer. Until there, take your time to learn, relearn this sim. Even if you have to play that d... "aham"...good Georgia Spring Easy Instant Action mission for the nth time to learn how to set your SPI with your SOI for attack with a LGB (acronyms...you gotta be used to them). :juggle:

If you are not talking about Mark points, but by "mark" you mean that you created a new SPI, then yes, you can do it. Let's say you have a target near Waypoint 01, not exactly on it. You select the TGP, find the target, locks it and create a new SPI on the target with TMS Up Long. With China Hat Forward Long you will slave all to the SPI (all sensors to the "wedding cake"). With China Hat Aft Long you will slave ONLY the TGP to the Waypoint. So, in this case you could have a MAV looking on your SPI (target) and the TGP looking at Waypoint 01. If you change waypoints, let's say to Waypoint 02 and hit China Hat Aft Long the TGP will slave to the new waypoint. However, the MAV, the TAD and the HUD will still be slaved to the target near Waypoint 01 (the SPI). I know it is a bit confuse, but hope it helps. :juggle:

Thanks for the help. It will sure save a lot of frustated missions.

Yes, you can. The problem is that right now I have other priorities to attend to, like buying a new video card (nowadays running the game in a ATI 4770), more memory (now only 2 GB) and a Track IR (right now, "looking" with the hat). So, only this costs the $500 of a Hotas Warthog. Also, I have a CH Hotas which is with me for years and is still very good! :joystick: P.S.: I know, I know, this is only a envy guy talk. ;)...hehehe...

Buying his way out of problems. LOL.:joystick:

Hmmm..thanks man! Better not mess with it. Part of simming is taking time to re-setup the controls... just part of the "job".

There is a program called FRAPS, that people use. Look in this link; maybe some info here will help you: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=22099

And what about controller profiles? I have a simple joystick and throttle and I really don't want to lose the control profile I created for my use. The profiles are saved in a system folder out of those for Beta 4. Do I erase them as well? Can they be used with the release version? Or it is not recommended?
