  2. Reload DSMS doesn't work, rearming doesnt work, and reloading DSMS after rearming does not do anything either. Weirdly, if I load up one of my older training missions, everything works fine. I will attach the mission in question if anyone wants to take a look and try. DSMS Trouble.miz
  3. I'm trying out some concepts and whipped up a mission starting in the air pointing towards where I want to go. The funny thing is when I have weapons loaded, my DSMS looks funny --- all the boxes are red if the pylon is loaded, green if not loaded, but the boxes are empty. Switching Master Arm to SAFE shows me my munitions but Training and Armed just goes back to the emply colored boxes. Attached are some screenshots to show what I mean. Any help appreciated. Have tried an air start and a runway start, still no joy.
  4. Hmmm... I've set convoy vehicles (moving!) as my SPI and have successfuly engaged them... so it must work.

  6. Nice to see it's working well. Nate, can you tell me what sort of problems this used to cause? Freeze? CTD? What should I be keeping an eye out for?

I know MTFDarkEagle has a point when he says RTFM but if you're a n00b like me who can't find the answer unless spoonfed (that, and BOY! is that manual huge!) and gets migraines when reading more than 100 words, then by all means post your question! A really helpful soul is guaranteed to help you, if not at least point you to the relevant page of the manual. We are all here to learn the sim and sometimes a little helping hand goes a long way in enjoying the sim. Oh, and practice! :D

  11. There was a trick in 1.1.0.7 that allowed you to click with the mouse pointer when selecting radio options. Is that still compatible with 1.1.0.8? Also, does anyone remember how to widen the "window" so that the entire line is visible when selecting armaments? ie, the text cuts off after about 30 characters and does not display the whole line; there was a mod to edit some value so that the text can take up 1/3 of the screen...

  14. Assuming you have the target in sight via TGP, come in very low (200 AGL), pop up at 5nm, fire, get back down quick. And I'd be popping countermeasures like mad once I start the popup. Do-able? Maybe. Fun? Hell yeah. Realistic? Probably not. Can you give me the parameters of the mission if you can remember it? Your distance from the Buks? How low was the overcast? How far apart were the Buks?

In 1.1.0.7, when creating a multi-player flight, I had to actually create one flight for each player, put in waypoints for each flight, put in ordnance for each aircraft, etc. etc. We really wanted to be able to creat just one flight of, say, 4 aircraft, all of which were player-controlled. Is this still a problem in 1.1.0.8? Or have they fixed it?
  16. Has anyone found a way to be able to designate buildings for destruction and be able to record said destruction? What I want to do is basically have A10s perform a surgical strike on a building in the middle of a city. The building should ideally be an office building, one that the pilots will not be able to pick out from the air if not lased by JTAC or perhaps WP-ed. I want to be able to show in the debrief the "accuracy" of the attack by showing if the target was destroyed or not and if the surrounding buildings were harmed/destroyed or not. I know there is an option of putting infantry on buildings/bridges and putting a trigger so that if they're dead, the building is considered destroyed but if the infantry lives, the building is considered intact. One problem with that though is that with a big bomb, a near-hit may be enough to kill the infantry on the building but the building may still be intact. I am looking for an option that would only come on once the building is a smoking ruin. Is it possible to put a tank on top of or inside a building? Any help greatly appreciated :book:
  17. The VIEW settings is for looking around... ie, like if you don't have TrackIR. The HOTAS SLEW commands are for slewing TGP. They're two different commands. :D
  18. Ah ok... will the 1.1.0.8 Soft/Normal/Hard settings give me the same results as the above pics? Or is YOUR settings different from the game defaults? Thanks!
  19. Hmmm... you may be quite right. Either that, or they might be just having a bit of fun. What do you think? :music_whistling: Seriously though, I think I'm just having too much fun being in the "danger zone." Sure, I can play it safe, climb to altitude, launch all ordnance without having to go defensive, and come home to a nice hot dinner. I know I would do so 100% of the time if I were doing this for real. But, as dunadan said, the consequences of my actions total to about 6 minutes of reload and reset time so why not have a bit of fun and get the blood pressure up and the heart racing?

  21. Sorry, I'm a bit confused. I have a 1.1.0.8 clean install and I noticed the Soft, Normal, and Hard HDR options. Do I still need/want the zip files? Thanks!

  25. I'm getting back into this after a very long haitus. How long? 3 weeks, gasp!! :doh: A faulty TM Warthog grounded me for the time being, but the postman was kind enough to deliver the replacement early this morning. I'm now planning to install 1.1.0.8 as a clean install, however, I want to keep my custom keybindings and custom cockpit view (MFCDs on the screen and not on the in-pit MFCD). Any help on how to do this? Thanks!
