The prototype paint scheme looks even better on the Mirage 2000 than the Rafale, like it was actually meant for it. That is definitely one I will take on some free flights.
-
I don't get it.
-
Either this involves a complicated analysis of operating cost per flight hour, targets destroyed per flight hour, and reaction time to target... Or something like: If we don't get X amount of money by X date we will have to delay the F-35! The F-35 can hit ground targets too, so let's cut funds for the A-10 and say we are "saving money" even though the F-35 is (As far as I can tell) less cost effective. I would like to believe that it is the former.

I don't usually double post, but I feel this warrants a bump:

Except that DCS A-10C was a beta when I bought it, and it still counts for the bonus. And my BS2 upgrade was neither a beta nor on discount when I purchased it and it does not count for the bonus. Also, the press release says nothing regarding betas or price inflation. I think this is simply a matter of someone writing a program to automatically tag orders for bonuses with the oversight of only basing it on the current price. It does not seem intentional. In any case, I will be submitting a support ticket to have them deal with it.

I want the whole package: Animated and automated maintenance vehicles, fuel trucks, cargo tractors, munitions trucks, pushback tugs, passenger buses, security vehicles, catering trucks, Snow plows, sweepers, mowers, fire trucks, stair trucks... And make it a CA style module so that players can actually manage the entire airport traffic operation.

Good luck doing a cold start without reading the manual.

Have you ever wondered why their tempo isn't high? Maybe it just seems like ED is slow because they are doing so much under the hood and behind the scenes development to improve the core of DCS and make it ready for things like this. Having 3rd party developers now probably gives ED more of a cushion to focus resources on development that does not have immediate profit returns.

After have repair, impossible to start my engine...

Upload a track file next time it happens (or preferably make a mission just to demonstrate it). It is possible you forgot something. -
The RDI is an air to air specialist radar, unlike the RDM and RDY which are multirole. The fact that he said "limited AG capabilities" rather than "no AG" implies that we will have some ground attack weapons available. I don't think the Exocet works with the RDI though. I have also read that the Magic II is designed to the same launcher specifications as the AIM-9, and that the AIM-9 is compatible with the 2000C, so I would expect the following: 2x 30 mm DEFA 554 internal cannons maybe a DEFA 554 centerline gunpod Matra 68 mm rocket pods (HE/HEAT/Frag/Flechette/smoke/illumination/training) Mk82/Mk83/Mk84/BDU50/BDU56 French 250 kg/500 kg/1000 kg iron bombs Belouga (cluster bomb) BAP-100 (anti runway) AS-37/ARMAT (ARM) ? Super 530 MICA IR Magic-II AIM-9 Smoke generators 3 external fuel tanks (1300 L/1700 L) The radar jammer is built into the airplane so it doesn't get a pod.

Testing team member uses emoticon on forums: Future DCS module confirmed. (Or maybe you meant the OP, but that evidence is only slightly stronger)

Still says the Alpha is available Feb 2014. If that is true (and if I get confirmation of my paypal contribution to the previous Kickstarter) then I would be willing to put money towards this. The funding duration is strange though... Apparently it has been available since December, without any announcement, and no one has contributed? This definitely needs official confirmation.

Yes, I agree with that completely. There is no reason maps have to support every module or even have air bases in them. Several square kilometers would be adequate for a vehicle training map. You could even make close quarters maps designed entirely for infantry combat if you wanted and just pack all of the development costs into a single compound of buildings. (Think Rainbow 6 in EDGE. All it needs is a good infantry module.)
-
If they made a hifi ground vehicle module, it would probably be standalone. CA is basically the battlefield commander module. It would be like requiring people to buy the aircraft carrier before they are allowed to buy the F/A-18. On the other hand, terrain is a serious issue here. I don't think Georgia is adequate for a hifi ground module. We already know new terrain (other than Nevada) is in the works/planned. If they are planning one or more ground vehicle modules, I am curious as to whether they plan a new free terrain with the base DCS world, a non-free terrain included with the module, or if they stick to Georgia (with other terrains being pay for).

I had the same problem with full price $19.99 BS2 upgrade.
-
If they release it before it is ready, people will complain even more about how it is buggy/broken than they complain about not having it.

Those two symbols are in direct violation of the no symbol zone.

I just copied that cockpit directly from the Bell website for the Huey II. I don't know what exactly makes a Huey II a Huey II, but according to both Bell and Wikipedia, the Huey II has a T53-L-703 engine. The standard UH-1H has a T53-L-13, and according to the DCS Huey manual, we have a T53-L-13B. Furthermore, since this is an officially licensed product, I think they would market it as a Huey II if it was a Huey II.
-
Then why doesn't my cockpit look like this?
-
I bought the BS2 upgrade version when it came out, and "full price" was $19.99 at the time, but now full price is $29.99 so it doesn't count for me. Here is an archive link showing that $19.99 was full price. http://web.archive.org/web/20130304184416/http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?end_pos=1322&scr=shop&lang=en The full price was increased to $29.99 during March 2013.

That is not the flexible sight, and doesn't pressing Ctrl+M do the same thing as that switch?
-
Oh, yeah in 1.2.6 the default brightness was set to 0%. Now I think it starts at 100%.
-
In 1.2.7 the only two switches you need for the flexible sight to work are the battery switch to ON, and weapons to SAFE or ARM mode. (Then press M to use it) For the pilot sight to work, you also need to switch INVTR to MAIN or SPARE, press Shift+M to lower the sight, and press Ctrl+M to activate it.

I am guessing this unauthorized announcement had more to do with the forum closure than internal changes of the team. This thread basically turned into moderator hell, and it was probably easier to keep the entire discussion in one place than poisoning the entire section. http://www.dcs-uvp.cz/images/mig21down.txt (This is old info and is no longer valid. Refer to recent updates.)

The attached file has an ATGM infantry unit I just made. it goes in your DCS World/Mods/tech folder. I can't get the AI to use it properly, but you can use it from first person view with combined arms to shoot the missiles. The only problem with that is the view is turned 90 degrees on the side and I don't know how to fix it. The model is currently an AK soldier. Infantry ATGM.zip
